And then they will just move the team elsewhere. So you either cough up the money or watch your team go to another city like Oakland and San Diego did. You can blame this on the league for not forcing ownership to pay for their fair share of the bill when it comes to renovations or new stadiums.
@dcaseng
@dcaseng 3 месяца назад
@@RhinoXpress Actually, you can blame city government officials who continue to fleece tax payers for vanity projects like luring sports teams to come to their cities. There is no logical reason for tax payers to continue to fund stadiums, especially when there is very little benefit to them. If tax payers stopped funding this stuff, owners would be forced to pay for it themselves.

A lot of this sudden stadium renovations/new stadium stuff is nothing more than trying to keep up with the Joneses. Perfectly decent stadiums that have absolutely nothing wrong with them but hey, my neighbors getting a shiny new car. I got to get one too and in 15 years, they’ll be complaining again. I’m just glad that the public finally seems to be seeing this for what it is. A shakedown by billionairess.

How much research did you do on this? There's much more than just taking out a section and fixing the exterior to this renovation. You should know that in the real estate game, location is everything. It seems like you're trying to push a narrative. As someone who's deep in the Panthers fanbase community, not too many are pissed. You don't like how it looks, ok. Every stadium doesn't need to look like a spaceship.

The Problem is nobody Trust or likes David Tepper. See the South Carolina training facility. Jerry Richardson was at least somewhat trusted and liked. North Carolina has no problems about pushing owners out. Ask former Hornets team owner George Shinn. Ask about that MLB Baseball team that actually got voted down. There isn't as much leverage there as Tepper thinks.

People are only saying anything negative because Tepper isn’t liked because the team hasn’t won since he took over. I’m a Panthers fan and CLT native and there are so many abysmal brain dead fans. Also I’ve said this before on your videos, the stadium is not in bad condition and it’s not like putting lipstick on a pig. It’s a good stadium. There’s nothing wrong with it other than it’s old. It’s in great shape.

@chrisnewsome2589 3 месяца назад
You're overlooking a whole damn lot of details. First off we don't want a roof, we don't want a dome, we love the location. The "public" money that's going to be used is solely from hotel taxes, that can *only* fund projects for BoA, The Convention Center, and amateur sports venues in the city. The concourses are what needs the upgrades, you can talk shit all you want about the seating but fact of the matter is there isn't a seat in there that doesn't have an amazing view. The people who are mad are just idiots who hear "public money/funding", don't bother to listen to where the money is coming from and just assume their taxes are going up.

My theory is that Tepper may have used the Clark Hunt (KC Chiefs) method of releasing renderings of a $800M+ renovation to the current stadium only to get the public to see that he made an effort to be frugal well knowing that it will piss off the fans. Now that he can say that he tried in good faith, he can use it as leverage to ask for a new stadium. These guys know what they are doing. This is the first seed planted. Your move Charlotte. Tepper also knows Charlotte will not let the team leave so he has the upper hand in this play. If Charlotte wants to play hard ball then the business side of Tepper will show no loyalty to the city and then find another city who will pay for a new stadium. It's a simple business decision.

NFL stadiums are by far the worst sports investment from a city/county/state perspective. They're more expensive than other sports stadiums and the team only plays 8-11 games there per year depending on whether they get home playoff dates or not.
