I once met Stuart when he played a gig on the balcony of Virgin records megastore in Edinburgh. A unique talent, extremely kind and greatly missed but his music lives on forever!
A legend we will never forget, my mate was a drum tec with big country but sadly passed away on tour in America, Fluff, Stuart RIP, we will meet again sometime 💙
Cracking song. Quite remarkable they played in the USSR. Kids did not know/understand much of the lyrics I bet but they sure loved the fantastic music.
These were the men in my life before rammstein.such a shame Stewart died way before his time was due.reminds me of a special friend in Seattle .all good memories until he had to leave.i knew every word to big countries songs.living on the street 4yrs with only a cassette tape player and copy of big country.you guys kept my spirits up and we all lived through it.special hello to the coffee house in Denver you know who you are !!!! Good luck everybody my ancestry is Scottish Dutch and German and hope someday to visit them all
Beautifully said Judith ...I am form England and was lucky enough to see Stuart and BC play live a few times and they were totally amazing ...they made their guitars sound like BAGPIPES ..... and the lyrics to their songs were so special and CHANCE I think backs that up ...stay happy :-)
Have never come across a negative comment about Stuart on line, that is exceptional in itself. Seems to have been a really decent man. Such a musical talent. Left us way too soon. God bless.
And I doubt you ever will see a negative comment about him. He was indeed human like the rest of us he just had many more demons than most. I'm so proud of him for staying in life as long as he did. It's not easy, have been there all my life too and it's a constant battle trying to keep the depression from taking you out. Will always miss him and always keep him closest to my heart. I need him to remind me of the horrific pain that others go through when they loose you. It's the only thing that has kept me in this world.
What a shame best band ever so unknown in the us timeless songs they would be popular if people just watched and listened to you tube tons of great stuff any rock and roll liver could go fir them
Michael Smart Simple grammatical correction. Don’t be so offended. Now you’ve learned something. Edit your post and go on with your day. Stay Alive!!!!
The wisdom of the lyrics belie the age of the musicians. The band mates would have been between the ages of 23 and 27 at the time the song was recorded. A beautiful ballad.
The truth is its my generations fault (im 28). You always see in the comments about camera phones at concerts and how crowds just arnt the same. but it really is true the disconnect we have with being in the moment is sad. This video is amazing proof. Moscow 1988 its clear people starved for music and the outside world. People who were oppressed finally getting to have a night of great music and fun. living more in the moment more than anyone my age might ever.

Fucking amazing band. Love them. Went to see them in lreland. They are my favourite band. Along side nirvana who l also think they were amazing to. 💖💖💖
I understand I'm in the minority on this but I don't mind the backup singers. The harmonies sound nice when Stuart sings around them during the break down. It's the damn synth I could leave behind. I mean really... does it seem like his noodling fits with the band?
i remember bruce watson in the dockyard at rosyth as a messenger boy, wow did his life change, werent many punk kids in the dockyard he did stand out a bit.
are you freakin kidding me? I can watch like 9 billion FREE videos of Big Country performing this song live and you want to charge for this one? What a JOKE!
