A great share , with the world , this is true MEDICINE , for lock down blues ! those magic nights / gigs , and weekend big country get togethers ! MAGIC ! for me and my lady and friends , I will always remember coming out of the town and country club / london , there was about a 1000 of us , walking to the station , and some one started singing CHANCE ! automaticaly everybody joined in , it was truly a night of brotherhood / happiness / love and joy of the gift we call , life , and having shared a magic evening all together , with BIG COUNTRY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
It was a testament to just how well crafted this song was that it worked equally so well in a stripped down acoustic version as the full electric version. I would like to have heard it with his original singing voice.
I found it a slightly slower mournful version. Beautiful e bow solo section. BC music always made sense and was more about the music than just soloing. Thanks for posting this.
As you say in the your leader comment, this is a great way to pass on why we’re BC fans. It’s a celebration of a unique solo, a solid song and the rapport the band had with those fortunate, singalong fans. Always wondered why that cheeky lil gliss(ando) stayed in the final mix and the live ending had the almost self-mocking bolt-on ending. Maybe just that, to keep us wondering and lighten the mood on a ballad about love and loss.
Peace in our time had some killer tunes ruined by producers etc...but I still play it and the more I listen I quite enjoy it ..shows stuart maturing with his lyrics .if you play it loud it's not bad listen even with the backing singers .who I am not knocking. I know they have sung with some of the best ok rant over 😘
Despite it sounding a bit too smooth and polished, it’s actually an amazing album to listen to, especially on a good system or decent headphones. I’m at peace (pun intended) with it far more now than I was 35 years ago.

Women who are Big Country fans should take this serious. There are wonen who listen to Big Country and shake their asses for Darth Vader all over the universe, but the women of planet Earth aren't even the best. The best are on Coruscant. The women on this planet shake their asses for Darth Vader everywhere! When I applied for the job as Darth Vader's manager on Coruscant, I knew immediately that this was the ideal job for me, because Darth Vader's secretary was shaking her ass for her employer when I introduced myself to her. On Coruscant, it's also not uncommon for women who have a job interview to shake their asses for Darth Vader during that interview. It's really sad that on Earth you hardly ever see women shaking their asses for Darth Vader. It's ok if an Earth woman doesn't like Big Country, but it makes Darth Vader and me very sad that most Earth women don't want to shake their asses for Darth Vader. But I'm telling you, this will have consequences. These women will be punished. I really don't know how many court cases are going on against Earth women who won't shake their ass for Darth Vader. Finally, I would like to mention that it is absolutely forbidden for women to shake their ass for Darth Vader when they listen to U2 or Justin Bieber.
