Im real happy how 100 and serious Kane kept it on how major Roxanne shante is to hiphop and the backbone of it. She was the real deal without the gimmicks. The MOTHER of hip hop
Big ups to Kane and Mister Cee. Cee was looking like a proud dad discussing the history between him and his partner Kane. Good job Flex on revisting our history. Love those times. Big up to all those brothers.
I appreciate how much detail Mister Cee can recall and how much he’s willing to share. Hearing the back story was amazing and so many names were dropped that were on my cassettes back in the day.... I loved this trip down memory lane. Thank you Mister Cee, Daddy Kane, and FunkMasterFlex. Also, thanks to Hot 97 for the platform to offer us these moments.
King Arthur KRS got knocked off the top 3 when he advocated for Bambaataa. I can't forgive him that though he is synonymous with Rakim and Kane. These 3 dudes changed the game lyrically by themselves. In fact these are the fathers of true lyricism in my opinion.
Real talk.. add to that, Raw and Wrath of Kane which would smoke anything the majority of rappers have ever written. Back in 1987 when Raw first dropped it changed the whole game, as did ‘I Know You Got Soul ‘- Rakim. These are gods of men.
Big Daddy Kane. One of The Greatest MC's of ALL TIME. He's a MAJOR Influence of My Style And I've Seen Him TWICE. Recently At The Yo! MTV Raps 30th Anniversary Show At Barclay's. KILLED IT!!! #LONGLIVETHEKANE #SALUTE2THALEGEND
A stand up man did a stand up thing, I respect that. . So with that said big up respect to every men in this interview. Mister Cee definitely an icon in all that he did. Nothing but Respect and admiration for the super world icon Kane. Shout to Flex for his contribution to the game.
This is official !!!Legendary episode period.Bk all day glad to have grown up to listening to a Bk vet BDK despite Mister Cee personal life salute 2 both of them and Flex 4 all being apart Nyc hip hop history /culture
I love this video i hope we get more like this i grew up in the 80s with hip-hop and like hearing stories about kane and mr cee and how they started this is hip-hop history
Wish we could put this video in a time capsule and leave it to be opened 100 years from now and all would be Chill........Blessing go out to all the pioneers because without this era in Rap which happens to be my HIGH SCHOOL years we could never have The longevity in Hip Hop that has reached so many millions and changed the entire landscape of what we know now as a universal art form.
This is such a dope interview big fan of Big Daddy Kane grew up in LG AKA Lafayette Gardens mr. Cee from projects went to school with big daddy Kane's little brother little Daddy Shane so Big Daddy Kane a couple years ago at the old Albee Square Mall still dope still moving still Ramen still hip-hop
Dope!!! Kane is a Rap legend. I tried to be Kane in high school. My all time favorite rapper. #1 on my list of top 10. This was a great interview. Long live the Kane.
KANE. By far 1 of the greatest. Okay, so when you start labeling top 5, you can never start from where you at. You gotta go back to the best. See their best played for SUMMER. These new artists may only get a season. LOVE ME SOME BIG DADDY KANE...you has to be there.
Thanks for the interview flex, you Kane an Mister Cee are legends. Mister Cee I miss your old school at noon mixes!! You went to that new station 105.1 but I don't hear you there anymore. Are you still there?? Where can I hear you?
Im from South Carolina but I grew up during the 80s Hip Hop . Never been to LQ or Union Square but the presence of those spots were so big in Hip Hop in New York and I always felt a reverence for those early clubs ( in my Hip Hop mind). That Biz and Krs One story was so good that I played it twice.
flex im a say I been listening to your interviews and this is the best thus far great story I first heard about kane when I was living in Panama The NCO clubs use to rock his songs
This is not an interview. You’ll have to remember guys like flex and Nore are actually from this life so they are having a conversation.!! They’re not news reporter fans interviewing celebs. So of course they interrupt.
