No question, my most favorite rapper, and it aint even that im bias.. .L was the best punch line rapper, and if he lived longer then he did.. best to do it.. even nas said he would never want to freestyle against L.. L would body him, and Jay z got on with his career because L had died, because L was on his label, and the freestyle jay and L had.. L killed him

Fat Joe is the keeper of the keys, and the recorder of rhyming remembrance. It’s all stored inside him, the history of hip hop. He’s a walking museum of lyrical rap history. Hip hop needs it’s own hall of fame, curated and codirected by Fat Joe. What an incredible place that would be.

Always been that way that's why us West Coast peeps don't have love for them like that either. I'm so proud and love the fact I grew up on the west during that whole era. Joel Wood only people who think pac is the greatest and overrate him are people who are small minded and not willing to listen to other greater people in the rap game, as we are talking about the music and not outside it, I love pac he is great and has good message and is most influential, but there are people who also had message and better lyrics and delivery and albums and style and punchlines and etc. Pac has mind control over u fools, I asked someone why he the greatest, they said how many records he sold (which sold when he died) they said how many songs he put out an albums (a lot of them were very average and low) and how many movies he put out before 25, (wtf movies got to do with his Music, shall we say will smith is the best

Alex His words were so melodic and rhythmic... it was infectious....it was hard not to bob your head to a Pun verse.....sorta like say a Busta Rhymes. There's a lot of rappers with content and bars but they couldn't put the words in a fluent musical format like Pun so it flowed like water.

GZA and Rae with their solo debuts! Ironman by Ghost in 96! And in 97 it was Wu-Tang Forever! C'mon bro, in one form or another these niggas had their hand in that hip hop jar, don't front yo!

He has classic songs, but no classic albums. The Old school artists weren' making well-rounded albums back then, it's not until the mid-late 80's that artists started making complete albums with classic material like Rakim, KRS, etc

Kool G Rap is a no brainer. He kept Rakim on his toes.
@Powerule23
@Powerule23 5 лет назад
Jarrel Ely + Two different eras. Bear in mind. Moe Dee basically quit rapping to attend college, because in his day, "rapping" wasn't considered a solid career path. But, for the point of arguing, G Rap takes him. Moe Dee peaked when he was battling LL, and had no gas left for the verbal gymnastics that G Rap was putting down when G Rap was peaking. Yes, Moe Dee was dope AF when he came out, and ultimately squashed party-rhyming Busy Bee; no question Moe Dee was dope for a few early-80's years. By 1990, it was G Rap and Rakim/Rakim and G Rap. (They both lifted the bar in terms of pure skill).
@Powerule23
@Powerule23 5 лет назад
Jarrel Ely + The true forgotten/under appreciated pioneer is Melle Mel. He would easily push around a whole lot of classic-era MC's.
@Powerule23
@Powerule23 5 лет назад
Jerrel Ely + That's a good one, but easy. G Rap. Not that this has anything to do with that matchup, but K Solo never got to really shine. I forgot the politics on his career. Although Solo had a choppier delivery, Kane basically fathered his original style, and then you could hear the G Rap influence on Solo's second album. But, Solo was a dope dude no doubt.

@Jarrel Ely NO.He wasn't worried about him....I think the only 3 rappers that could make BDK sweat were Rakim, KRS-ONE, and Kool G.Rap

Its great to see that Fat Joe is giving props to Black Thought,when it comes to lyrical sparring with the great Pun.You really cant compare those two on "super lyrical" joint.They are both Gods when it comes to hiphop.They just have such a different approach in that collabo.
