Parents that are used to completing the FAFSA application for their children are in for a few big surprises starting in 2023. Not only is the FAFSA application being completely revamped but the FAFSA calculation itself is being changed which could result in substantially lower financial aid awards for many college-bound students.

The EFC is not "the family's need relative to other applicants" that's simply not what that number means. To word it that way makes it more complex than it actually is.

Hey Michael, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I loved your videos. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts for you?

An aunt has bought savings bonds for my student since birth. Do they count as student income or as a gift?

Depends on who the owner of the bonds is. If the owner of the bonds is the student, it’s a countable asset of the student. (Comment is for education. Not advice)
