We Southerners are for sure of a different breed! I’ve always loved Goodie Mo B and OutKast! True artists that were actually saying something real!! “You need to get up, get out and get something!”
Word we need real Voices that came from the Golden Era 90s of rap...Never knew Big Gipp was Intelligent Cool Humble ...Get this man his own Podcast will probably be the Nore of the south Respect
Ive been loving these interviews with gipp man tru fan I remember i went to the 96 Olympics an atl an that was when i was introduced music wise to yall that soul food album spoke & speak of the shit that is going on now i thank yall for dropping us a jewel from tha dc, md, area
Facts! I can't keep up with todays music. By the time I learn a song, its old and the world has moved on just like that. Back in the days, I could hear the whole album, learn all the lyrics, and the world would still be bumping it for a few more months. Everything is moving too fast right now. We don't really have enough time to enjoy the all the new music. That's why I will forever and always bump my old school music. It sounds better anyway! 💜
@@buttafly1075 it shouldnt matter your age.bit im sayin the same thing people complain about music now,,10 yrs ago there was people complaining about the same thing.and in the early 2000s they were complaining about the same thing wit music..and in the early and mid 90s they were complaining about the same thing they are now wit music..every body complains about the music and they learn to appreciate the music from 10 years before and wish they could go back…in 2033 your gonna be sayin how you appreciate music from 2022,,this been goin on since the mid 80s when i started listening to rap music
The Goodie Mob an outcast there's no competition we are in LA but being related to a huge rock star from Macon Georgia we also have a Southern mentality soul food wisdom Goodie Mob Outkast
Eventually there will be a point in a Hip-Hop/Rap artist career, that they will become truth fighters and have a message in their music. Once the records executives use some of these mainstream artists up.and spit them out, the artist (if they still in the game) have no choice but come clean and speak the truth.
One of my fav artist .. see it’s nothing like a MC that can go anywhere and ain’t gotta worry bout nothin. Gipp can go to any hood and be good just by the way he talk and move. If a youngsta don’t know him he gone know he a buck and he a G just by his convo and how he move. Nothing fake no acting not tryna fit in just a real nigga..
When he says name and likeness.. it’s the reason why dead artist are now holograms .. it seems cool.. but you really think Tupac wants his hologram doing shows without his permission. I watched a Whitney Houston performance the other day .. you think she wanted that?
Only thing is disagree with is JCole and Kendrick won’t see someone about disrespect! That nigga JCole damn sure got in a brawl with Puffy one time!! Things were different back then though!! Niggas up north and out west didn’t really see southern niggas as MC’s in the 90’s!
The only record label that actually developed black musical talent was Motown Records and Berry Gordy sold his ownership share to MCA in the middle 80's
If yall did that same zoom motion 0:21 when u transition between people talking, it would drive your podcast to the next level. Much better watchability
