I discovered this band about a year ago and can’t get enough. I play Todd’s music on a loop. I love how this song just builds until the guitar solo comes on and just explodes. The whole band is just kicking it and the base line is so solid. The sound on this Red Rocks cut is outstanding. Thank you for making your music sound so good!
How does a guy with a voice like that and guitar skills like that never hit it massively big? Oh, yeah, all the lemmings are listening to Beiber and Swift. Feel sorry for them.
A very underrated and overlooked band. I've been a fan since the early 90's. "Broken Hearted Savior" and "Bittersweet" are my favorites, but this song is up there.
Your in for a real.treat. lucky you found this band. But you must kniw that by NOW. HE AND HIS BAND ARE 5HE FUCK7N BALLS. NIGHTFENCER GATEKEEPER. BRAINTREE BOSTON. ROCK ON HE ID IN.ERIC CLAPTONS CATEGORY. GUITAR AND HIS PHEN9MINAL VOCALS. OUTSTANDING. BAND IS AWSOME. EVERY ONE OF THEM
I had to open up the wind and have my car stereo guide ne and to him today!!!!! Broken hearted I am right now of a huge loss.. perfection to anyone's journey .. When he came on my car didn't have enough boom in the speakers..He's amazinnnggggggg. Thank you Todd!!!
@@reginaohearn6152 sweetheart don't put all your love in one basket. Just saying I've loved and lost I've broken hearts for no fault of theirs. I've lived with the knowledge of what a fool I was to have left Susan. Its late in life for me.ive few regrets but still a few, can't go back 40 yrs. Can't undo my bad choices. But time goes on I have children as she does too that's how you console yourself later that was the prize for being stupid in youth. You'll get through the pain you feel now. Be cautious but not afraid love will find you. When you least expect it. And even with time it may not be perfect, but what is? Wishing you all the best. Hang in there.
Absolutely love these gifted musicians! Just saw them in Reno summer 2023. They sound as great as they did in the 90's. I tried to get Mr.Todd Parks to sing Crazy Mary but I guess they have a play list they have to stick too. Played with Blues Travelers a memorable night. Thank you Big Head Todd and the Monsters.Great birthday gift from my wife.
Absolutely! Saw them last night in Camdenton, Mo. An “intimate setting” to say the least. They didn’t have to rock out like they did- but I’m so effing grateful they did! Took me back to mid 99’s Winter Park, Co. ❤️ Forgot how fantastic they are!
BHTM rocks my world, I love the drumer's facial expressions and his body movements are alive!!!! I've seen them 3 times in the last five years and NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED ! They are so friggin good , they've made me feel love again.
Like these guys, best music comes from garages, the beaches and the mountains. Some day the music industry will get its head out of its ass. PJ the Vet.
I always leave her waiting I always leave her down if she should come my way I always turn around Please don't tell her I love her I always keep her out I never let her in If she should come my way weeping I greet her with a grin Please don't tell her I love her if she should discover the colors of my love she will fly, fly away Now you can try tenderness You can try to hang around Oh, but I'm sure she'll love you less I'm sure she'll bring you down Please don't tell her I love her
One of the best songs ever. Everyone alive can relate to this song-everyone. And, he kills it by sounding better live while playing the guitar than most recorded in the studio.
Help! I love this song yet I don't understand it? I pulled up the lyrics and am lost. He loves her but still keeps his distance? I welcome a response, I really like these guys!
My x husband took me to BHTM concert, I went so many times good memories I hope hes doing well . Im doing good, I was so young when I got married to him. We divorced but I didn't divorce the band.
I've only had the opportunity to see them live once, but I've been listening to them for a few decades (even before they were BHTM).. And I was fortunate to go to high school with them -- they played then, too
I hav never had songs reach down in my soul and play with my feelings like this group does . I love your style your beat your presentation . Please don’t tell her 💞
I agree, my kids listen to them and other kids are over and always stop and say who is this....I like to think I can spread a little greatness!!!!!!!! They will actually shut up when I am listening to them ty guys
I've seen them in concert 2x's and in my opinion they're the best band to ever come out of Colorado and if they were in a major market earlier on they would undoubtedly be much more known & famous than they already are!✌❤✌
Loved seeing BHT play at neighborhood outdoor festivals during the 90’s in the summer in Chicago. Some of the best times in my life with great friends in the greatest big city in the world.
Turned on to these dudes a short-time ago by good friend. I guess I missed their heyday. Listened to the Brandy (cover) . They killed that Classic. Big fan of original material now too.
What other tracks that stand out as well as Please Don't Tell Her? They are easy to listen to, and their front man (sorry forgot his name) is talented voice/guitar. They also clearly fit well with the locale they hail from....for anyone not abreast of Boulder, CO - U of Co region, it is a slacker and burn-out paradise.....this type of music plays well with the local vibe and as someone said the mountains and foothill towns there.....
Pete Wentz Todd Park Mohr. Try broken hearted savior. They have a dvd from a long time ago I think it’s the only one. It’s at the Fillmore. Also a cd I have. I think it’s live. It’s good. It’s odd the red rocks isn’t on dvd though. He’s a great guitarist. Completely underrated. And I’ll Play the blues for you. They pretty much have them all listed here.
Thanks; they have had a cult like following here in Chicago region. Local progressive rock FM outlet has always featured them; they've done a few local concerts over the years, and those that have given them a listen generally like them.....including older dudes like me.
Good memories. Saw BHT for the first time at a house party circa 1988 (?) and many different places around Boulder thereafter. A nice contrast to The Samples who played in that era -and also red hot at the time. You could just walk into a big house/ bar/ frat party and there they were. A smoky room, cold beer flowing, walls shaking, and good times: Steady beat, loud strat, big hat, and smooth vocals.
Were you studying at Boulder? How smoky was the room and what kind of smoke was it? U of C is one great place but probably not appropriate for an institution of higher education....maybe a few too many distractions and disincentives to be straight on the curriculum, reporting on history, etc. But definitely a great time/era for music and a great place to kick back and toke...ugh take in BHT and their musical vibe.
I think we might have bumped into each other. Just did the heck out of these guys. Do'nt live in Boulder any more but sure do miss some good Colorado rock. The front range just has it going on.
Some one below asked the question why they never made it as a mainstream rock/pop act and I think your comment explains....they came out of Boulder, U of Colorado party scene, and unless one were fortunate enough to be a listener of a underground rock FM music station back in the 80's, about 30 years ago, you'd probably never know about them. They are above all, a regional band, with an almost cult like following along the lines of the Dead. We got to hear them in Chicago thru WXRT 93.1 Fine Rock FM outlet....and Todd's group played several of the local clubs and New Year's parties in downtown Chicago way back when. They are known here in Chicago, but not so sure they have a national market presence. They are good though, especially Todd.
@@petewentz3528 Yup....really good. First heard them on KFOG in San Francisco.....an alternative station, at the time. "Bittersweet" is still my favorite.
Hi Kristen ! In class...So obviously you have lived in Boulder.....lucky you ! I am in Hawaii now but lived in Boulder many years off and on . I always say if I couldn't be here I would be there. Great town . And yes these guys are great too . Be safe.
Any one know how and when and where Todd learned how to play guitar? Was it in Boulder? Did he take lessons or was he self-taught? Just simple song construction but very nice guitar solo and pleasant tone. He knows how to play.
The great session player bass guitarist Lee Sklar did a hand-held Go-Pro video tour of the Red Rocks amphitheater poking around on stage, behind stage, in dressing rooms, quite the performer's perspective of what it is like to be on stage and look up at the concert attendees and rock formations. Incredible place, a must visit or bucket list venue for anyone who likes Colorado, music, fresh air, nature, and of course what the audience doesn't get to see. I think Sklar's video may have been flagged and removed by Google or demonetized, not sure it's still up, but see if you can track it down. Great camera footage.
Come on RU-vid let the fucken music play I'll stop it when we're ready !!! DONT STOP IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG TO ASK IF WERE WATCHING IT SUCKS WE MIGHT AS WELL GO LISTEN TO THE RADIO......
Wondering how you even found out about Todd not many people know people who are not musicians or really know their music will even know the name name Big Head Todd probably don't know the reason why they called him that I do personally😂❤
