OMG, I’m 56 years old and listen to music all the time……but this is first time I’ve ever heard this, what a perfect song. The music is so in the groove that you almost miss the fantastic lyrics about the changes in a relationship over many years. This is proof positive you don’t need a 10 piece band to make awesome music. Don’t get me started on that guitar solo either, I can’t stop listening to this. Anyone else fall in love with this song the first time they heard it?

Lol, excuse you, lol I just discovered this song a year and a half ago. I have an excuse though, poor radio stations and I hit 61 years old. I heard it on a new radio station that plays all the greatest stuff out there now. Check them out as they are an independent station 91.1 the avenue wovm Appleton Wisconsin. They have quite the following.

I was blessed enough to meet Todd Park Mohr about a year ago in Waikiki. And I can tell you that he is as gentle in his personality as he is in his singing style.. Sweet and calm.. He was so gracious and polite. Not a rock star but a Human star.. Thanks Todd.. For giving me life long memories..

OK guys, I’m 66 years old, a baby boomer. I lived through the best music ever made. However I sometimes pick up on a song that is so awesome I can’t stop listening to it. I heard this song on the radio probably about 10 years ago. The DJ didn’t say the name of the song or the band playing it so I called the station to find out because I was so impressed. This live version is just as awesome as the original recorded version. As Todd says, the message is bittersweet but the music itself for some reason it’s uplifting to me. And I smile when I hear it. The guitar hooks you from the beginning of the song you can’t help but want to hear the rest of it. I love the vocals and the guitar is played smooth and sexy. No rhythm guitarist, Todd does it all. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you Todd.

I've been lucky enough to see them live at least a dozen times. They never disappoint. One of the first times I saw them, after the show we were waiting for the crowd to thin out, look to my left and there is the band just chilling with the fans having a beer. Their music got me in the door, their off stage chill vibe got me hooked.

In a conversation with a beautiful women I had met in Boulder, Colorado she stated "there are allot of great performers but only a few great songs." This resonated deeply as a profound statement. I heard this song a few weeks back and marked it so I could come back and absorb it to the fullest . It does make me know how lucky I’ve had a great life with what God has given me. I'm old. I saw them in the Pearl Street Lounge, Boulder, CO right before they appeared on Letterman and blew up. They were so good in that little club. Fun to see them on TV. Letterman's comment was "that's the way we like our rock and roll! Rip the roof off!"

Okay !! Someone just pulled the rug out from under me !! I’m 69 yrs old & have loved music 55 years or so but I’ve never heard of Big Head Todd and the monsters. Bittersweet rocks & rolls but yet it flows a smooth summer brook at times. The lyrics are so right on - isn’t it like real life romances are - that they are - more sweet than bitter - but - Bitter than sweet. Todd hit the nail on the head !! These fellows harken back to the latter half of the 1980's. Back then they were a three-piece band. Had the pleasure of seeing them play all over Boulder when I went to CU. They played the local bars, frat parties, house parties, etc.

what has happened over the last 20 years ? This song brings me back to a time when all was fine, musicians were people who actually played an instrument and wrote songs from their heart the crowds were alive and the shows electric, a time when talent was priority one. We didn't reward junk and were rewarded with great songs like this one, modesty was still a value and integrity was to be expected.Now, we have untalented,self important,narcissist's who sing about the day's of the week or huge ass's and partying partying yeah.Everything is a choreographed shit show of lights and lip syncing and gyrating like an epileptic at a strobe light convention, the kids are numb and the one that aren't are dumb dishonesty is to be expected and integrity is just a nice idea.Well, not here not with me, that's why I'm still listening to the anthem of my adulthood...Bittersweet, and indeed, it is............
