We're heading to the Big Island at the end of March. We will be there for the Merry Monarch festival. Do you have any pointers on that ??

@@buckw65 that is a great festival. What I love about it is the group hula competition specifically if you like competitive hula dances. It will be a great experience. The other one is the royal parade which you don’t want to miss.

Are the locals do not like hiking in the valley? I have not tried myself

@@jeztravel Yes, there is an active rallying of the people who live in the Valley to acquire legal rights to keep non-locals out. The tourists have overwhelmed the valley especially the roads, without contributing to the land or keeping it safe. I was invited down by a local but without that, wouod not go down even hiking anymore.
