That koi was worth atleast £300-£400. No one would have released that because it was too big for their pond. Most likely someone gave up the hobby few years ago an released that into the canal when it was just a few inches. Koi grow very slowly, thats atleast 3-4 years old an koi are valued on their size an colours/markings 👍
Cracking koi carp that boys! And on a canal too. Good to see people wandering past and being interested in the fishing and the fish. I like it when people are like that
Great video guys. The koi has obviously been "dumped" in the canal, probably because it was ill or someone shut down their pond. Not a high quality Japanese koi which would be worth £1000 but probably a Chinese or Israely one worth nothing like. Truly gorgeous fish and now in it's new home and clearly enjoying it. God forbid anyone would ever take it back in to captivity and respect to you guys for returning it.
this one is definitely a japanese koi. or at least a super high quality koi. you can see how solid and clean the red pattern is and how the black markings only stay near the top of the fish. this is the first wild caught released koi i’ve seen with such nice color
I came across this video when it first came out and I must say it’s taken me long to comment but this is one of the most enjoyable fishing videos out there, most fishing videos really bring out the stereotype that fishing is boring but in your videos you make essentially what’s called the “boring bits” enjoyable for everyone the music choices and style of editing is amazing aswell! I’ve been a subscriber from day one and I ain’t planning to leave! Keep the good work up lads ❤️
Mad amounts of money are spent on filtering the water and treating & feeding Koi... then there is this one living his best life in the canal, bigger and healthier than 99% of pond koi.
I enjoy your videos very much. They are very well produced and it's nice to see the process that you go through on the trip and adventure. Reminds me of when I was your age. Of course, I live in North Carolina in the US so it's a little different....lol.
This not Joanne it's her son. When people get nice carp out canals or carp like this, I wouldn't say where about's and where it's been caught which canal or take pictures with distinctive backgrounds or owt like that and then bang it up on social media. Because you get idiots that will come and pinch it, when that carp needs to just be put back every time it's caught--- and stay where it is, simple as that. 🙂NICE CARP THOUGH I THOUGHT🙂
Great vid, cool fishing, but are guys fishermen or clubbers?? Lol no need for the shitty music....fishing is about being quiet, peace and serenity, nature etc.
love vids if u guys could can u increase your voice volume levels its possible on all editing softwares trust me i do GCSE photogaphy and media grate vid tho guys and invest in a wind blocker :)
that aint good... this is someone else pet that they could no longer take care of them and they release it to a river. the koi should be removed and kept in a pond cuz the local fish will close competition
dude, koi carp are just a different color common carp, and this is filmed in england where common and mirror carp are sort of native (they were introduced by the roman empire 2000 years aprox. ago)
That is a nice koi, colour would be Sanke, if it were Japanese released by someone filling in a pond or something then it would be worth a few quid! In an aquatics or koi dealer possibly as much as £400 to £500 or even more! private sale you’d still get £200 for it easily. Know anyone who keeps koi? 😁
A wild Koy or a released Koy making it an invasive species? I think I heard at the end they said may have been a pet that got too big I would have taken it home if I could have.
Sorry to break the news to you but that fish there is called a #JapaneseKoi they are mostly found in garden ponds and pet stores. Somebody either released it or it escaped a pond / and or lake during a flood and wounded up in the canal. Yes, that is a Japanese #Koi. Not a wild carp.
Which canal is that lads ? you sound like your from my way , there are some good carp in the leeds and liverpool canal but again hard to track down unless you can spot them in the summer .
Great video as always! Was wondering what the rucksack was at about 1.10 as I planning on doing some mobile angling and this looks like exactly what I need
