Me too because all his peers say he dope. I remember when krit was here dropped. Mack Miller said krit would change the world in an interview. Rocky said he had the best verse on 1 train, and Kendrick shouted him out on control. All the big names think he dope.
Krit definitely will be a King remember in time. He's legendary at this early point in his career. He makes classic soul records and the world needs it. He's by far one of the best and he's super underrated. I'm proud he's finally getting the recognition he deserves.
Congratulations on your new album. I waited for Best Buy to open on October 27 and had a Kool-aid smile on my face when purchased my physical copy. I've been bumping it from front to back and sometimes I start from Disc 2 Justin Scott side to Disc 1 Big K.R.I.T. side and however you start it, it's a wonderful experience. In my opinion, this is 1 of the best double albums since 8Ball Lost.
MidKnight Storm You said something then. I've always said 8ball Lost was the best double album and one of the most underrated albums in hip hop history
Fam I was there too! Bought an album for me and my cousin that couldn’t make it. Growing up so close to Meridian and spending so much time there, the content of the album really hit home for me. On top of that it’s an objectively great album. Simply amazing.
Hopefully this album puts him in the mainstream so he can get the credit he deserves . I doubt it tho . He should definitely be up there with Kendrick, Cole and Drake
If he stay independent then yeah but to me krit needs to stay underground more than mainstream to me many who dont really know what krit brings dont deerve him in mainstream yet plus krit has proven alot with all his music through the years
Not gonna lie, this conversation (specifically that cafeteria part lol) gave me a lot of insight into my own struggles and my own issues, K.R.I.T. is real AF.
RaiJin na can't agree with that..lupe had his moments very lyrical and technical, but the big thing that's missing from him and kendrick in my eyes are they have NO STYLE "swag". they come off a lil geeky with their cadence
Ok Rosenberg is a square and extra as hell lol but you can't deny, the man knows and has an appreciation for music and real people. This was a good interview. Big Krit is very genuine. Gained a new fan. I will be catching up on his music
Just listen to Temptation and the Vent, always show both to brand new KRIT fans or that don't know his music too well that showcase the two sides of rap he gets to.
Mental health issues are always relative. Success, fame, health, etc. can't just "fix" depression. Openness, understanding, communication and love are key. Glad to see KRIT back out doing well!
man hot97 gon go back to all these interviews they did with krizzle eventually and realize they had a legend on their show but couldnt even see it hahah
The man asks to stop bringing up other rappers, this fool proceeds to keep bringing up other rappers. Even brings up Yelawolf. Wtf. Great project KRIT. 🔥🔥🔥
Funny how Rosenberg has no real knowledge of krits catalog yet he's one of the most heard voices in hip hop. Him and ebro need to revisit some krit maybe then they'd realize he's been making the best behind the scenes. he's been killing everything for the last decade +. C'mon now
Krizzle. I don't know if you'll see this, but man you inspired me to be the transparent person i am. I was already writing but you made me believe in myself. like Nas did. like Lupe did. Few artists touched me like that and you were one of the last that did. I cant tell you how happy i am that you found your way out of artistic shackles and delivered a classic. God bless my G. KRIT WUZ HERE. KRIT IS STILL HERE.
It's 2017 and it amazes me how a lot of East Coast/New York media outlets, DJs and radio personalities STILL discredit the South musically. As long as the South is making that Trap/Ratchet music, or what people like to call "Mumble Rap" (which I also enjoy), they'll support it because it essentially doesn't pose a threat to what they deem as Hip-Hop and it feeds into the narrative of the South being "Dumb". They can say, "Oh, that's just the South being the South." But when artists like OutKast, UGK, and now Big K.R.I.T. come along with great lyrical content coupled with amazing live instrumentation, they don't truly champion it or support it and tend to blame it on the artist being "Slept On" or just not understanding the content. Yet, majority of the rap game is constantly borrowing from the South's sound and making it their own. Let's just be 100, the South still doesn't get the respect it deserves. The only reason they're even discussed is because of the influence and dominance they've had in Hip-Hop in the last 15 years but overall, East Coast media outlets still don't respect them for their artistry. In the late great words of Pimp C, "It's really going diiiine in the South". WAKE UP.
4ever is a mighty long time is that he best album of the year by far with damn being a close second. Sorry not sorry, the album is phenomenal. If y’all haven’t heard it yet, please listen, you will not be disappointed
I need ppl to stat mentioning Krit name with the top artists in the game when that convo come up its always Kendrick and Cole never Krit honestly I like Krit better then Cole
Them speaking about the late Charles Barclay is so on point. Dropping a slow jam/sex mix of hip hop artists is soooooooo a fan moment, I just need Krit to tour Europe soon.
It’s ironic Rosenberg said the hip hop game is like high school cause Krit said the exact same thing in Hometown Hero...... “he said she said rumors all day, the rap game is high school and life’s a hallway, like what click you in the Beamer or the Benz, the Bentley or the lambo like here we go again!”
Radio stations ALWAYS treat KRIT with half the respect and adoration he deserves. Smh. They interview him like his career has just been a complete flop.
Big Krit got music since Lord knows when I'm listening to krit since see me on top vol 1 and 2 3 + 4 plus .since 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 and Beyond I can listen to it all day everyday and I do this music more fire then all these other rappers out here
Yo just listening to Big K.R.I.T. speak upon the album, releasing to the world his inner feelings about life and spilling his soul on this track is refreshing frfr. Knowing this brotha been in the game for 17 years, you know he serious about the art, and it shows. This is very encouraging. Not saying I'm on the same level as KRIT, who I've been a fan of since his BET cypher back in I think 2012, but I also want to be voice that I feel is missing in hip hop. He definitely one of the real ones. Much salute to him!!
Alfonso G naa he's independent now, you will never see an independent guy selling 600,000 first week, you need that major push and marketing money. I hope he does well tho
All requires Marketing and promotions. Notice he keeps saying that he went broke as an independent artist. Unless you sell drugs and put your freedom on the line to shine, you will be an artist like Me, dope but unheard of because you do not want to risk your life or freedom by selling drugs to get money to invest in your work. It cost thousands of dollars to become a successful rap artist. You have to invest in yourself and that cost a lot of money if you have high standards and expensive taste like Big KRIT.
Feel like Big KRIT has had a higher quantity of quality content than Cole & Kendrick for a while. If it hasn't touched your soul til now then you haven't been listening. Some of y'all got "selfish ears"
heard the album for the first time this morning. lovin' it so far, gotta go back and give it some more listens, but its already one of favorite KRIT records.
With a mindset to create knowing your music will be here longer than you, solidifies your prowess as sonic legend. His name alone let’s you know he knew he would be “Remembered in Time”
Oh and Rosenberg, I used to run with MidiEast out of the DMV and I must say that I like this format of interviewing! This is REALLY dope. You asked everything I wanted to know while doing so effortlessly! Thank you and God bless bro!
This was a great listen, and KRIT's album is phenomenal. I planned to put listening to it off for a few days, but ended up tapping play for the hell of it anyway and have yet to take it off repeat almost a week later.
