RU-vid recommended a 10 year old ice fishing video in August... awesome imsaw you can never get enough ice fishing. I remember how good the Laker fishing was back in the 90's and early 2000's
Hell of a job. I loved the video. I live way down south so this is just a 'wish' for me. I don't remember ever seeing anyone 'clean' the ice so clear that you can see the fish below like that. (maybe it's the heater) That's a really cool set up. As for the four pound test. Use what you want. It's your fish. Hater's are gonna hate. Lol, Even if you did do anything 'wrong' it's way better than sitting at home on the computer just watching it.
dcfanchris Haha yeah she was screamin! I have stepped up the line quite a bit since this video...I had picked up this combo on the way to the lake. Cheers!
Thats why I wont go out on a lake on a snowmachine unless there is at least two feet of ice and wont take my car out unless there is 3-4 feet just to be safe. I will walk out on it thinner, but to many lakes in my area have thin spots and it might be a foot thick in one spot, then 3 inches in another.
Matt let your line out on road or up higher floor with a ball bearing swivel /weight and reel it back in slowly with gentle pressure between your fingers to take twists out of your brand new line.Spinning reels will bury a loop of line after a few fish check your spool after each fish and last 2 rod lengths of your line , knots and hooks/terminal tackle?
Yup! Fish aren't always in the same spot so we setup on the first spot and try it for an hour or so and if no luck we move! You can also drill a bunch of holes and then take your flasher to each hole and see if it marks any fish.
@RaguelAngelofBalance I thought that would be the answer but I have lost too many fish from the snap swivel opening up! Frustrating!! I always tie straight on to the lure now.
@newcarlisle1 I take the sled from Gilford road and find about 100 feet of water. They just put gates up at Gilford though...I don't know whats gonna happen this winter :(
@ShutUpAndFishCanada thanks. ive never ice fished before. i live in new jersey, and where im from, theres no big lakes, like this (only about a mile long). this is something ive always wanted to do. great videos!
I love fishing a lot and I'm a girl... At first I didn't know a girl really loves fishing..... Btw good job that's a good one.. I don't eat fish but I fish for my mom and my family
Well that was anti climatic. I live near flaming gorge in wyoming where that is considered a pup. Big here means 40+.But still looked Hella fun! Nice video.
If i saw that group of trout under my hole i wouldn't talk loud at all, i would whisper to my buddy and try to get a few in, they're sensitive to noise, your lucky you got to see that
I had my drag set loose enough it wouldn't break on me but a 20 lb lunker could have spooled me with 4 lb test for sure! I switched to heavier line now. Cheers!
Nice, did you release him after? it's actually sad abit cuz it's like drowning for them but then above the water they get choked Did you put him back ?
The last time l watched this video was pretty long ago, l wasn't pay attention to what kind of fish it was, l was just saying he was holding the fish out of the water pretty long, they can't breathe outside of water, now l see it yes, l am 20.. l wasn't paying attention to it. l know a lot about fishes l was just not paying attention let's say l am sorry and l will delete the comment. if u want.
