GREAT to see you. Congratulations on all the exciting changes. Happy for you. Good luck on the move, I am sure you'll be glad you are a minimalist when packing up. 😊
🌺🌺🌺Soooo happy for you and your whanau Jana, congratulations! Life has been busy but some exciting outcomes for you all!!!!!! WoW!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you, all your achievements and smart work! Nothing yummier than fresh eggs. You are going to love preserving, canning and bottling. I was a know it all and tried to bottle some jam plums from my mums and my yellow plum tree. Well I know now. I have missed you. Sending hugs. Looking forward to your next video! Nin from the Joy Ninja is absolutely wonderful!!!!🌺🌺🌺 The Farmers Wife Homestead is another Kiwi RU-vidr. She is amazeballs! All the best with the move I hope everything goes easily and smooth !!!!
Thank you so much! We have been wanting to shift to a more country lifestyle for a few years now I’m so excited for it and for the kids too it’ll be so nice for them to have the space to run around, it’s an acre property so plenty of room for them and there is a tree hut for them which they are very excited for. Oh nice, I also made homemade plum jam this season with plums from a friends tree it was fun to learn, I had never made it before but was surprised it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. The joy ninja is so inspirational isn’t she, I just love her outlook, living abundantly on less, it’s so great! I haven’t had time to watch RU-vid much lately but I’m looking forward to watching Nins videos again after the move. Oh thank you for the recommendation I will check out the farmers wife homestead! I need all the homestead content now!! Thank you for watching! Hope you and your whanau are well ❤️
Yay! Congratulations on your new house and business! I’m really looking forward to your packing video! Also moving to the new house and your adventures there. I really enjoy how you do things Jana and I’m always inspired! Blessings!!
Thank you so much! Very excited for the move, we have wanted a more country lifestyle for a while, it’ll be such a cool new journey and I can’t wait to film and share it with you guys ❤️
Wow 😍😮. You have all been so incredibly busy and so many changes and exciting times ahead. I bet you're so pleased to be a minimalist with the moving. I honestly believe, many many years ago it was all my stuff and life packed into my apartment that really prevented me from even considering getting a new place. Huge huge congrats. Everything crossed for Dane and his new business. I always remember he said he'd wanted to work outside doing that kinda stuff. 🤞. Hope it's a huge success. We've slipped back a little with life, but nothing huge. I had to smile regarding potty training and your son. I was thinking "yep the girls are always faster". We have around 6 friends that are Ben's age - all girls and all potty trained a couple of years before him. It was costing so much in nappies and I was dreading sending him to school in nappies but my sister potty trained him age 4, just a month before he started school thank goodness. I would still get reports from school about him walking out of the toilets with his pants in his hands saying "help me please". The other boys in his class are nearly a year older than him but cos he's a July baby he started early. Much love, respect and huge congrats for everything ahead for you all. Exciting times. Going to get back to cash envelopes as it's too easy to lose track of spending on kids party presents, trips, odd trips to the shop etc. School uniform is super expensive with branded stuff and that's just for little ones clothes. Love the idea of the ninja saving thing. Best wishes for UK England xxx
Thanks Tara! Yeah lots happening around here I’m so excited though we have been wanting to be out of town for quite a few years I can’t believe it’s finally happening! And yes definitely grateful for minimalism it’s going to make the process so much easier! Aww yeah I’ve heard from many that boys took longer to train it’s definitely played a big part in our day to day just constantly putting him on the toilet every hour, not going too far away from home and always making sure wherever we go has toilets close by etc he’s pretty good now he only has the odd accident maybe once or twice a week but he’s still only 2 so I have to keep that in mind. Great to hear you’re getting back on board with cash envelopes too, I slipped into some pretty bad spending habits when we were just using cards 🤦🏻♀️ wasn’t good but I’m glad we’re back on track now! I can’t believe Ben is 4 already where did that time go.. I remember reading your comments from when he was not even 2! 🤯 x
Huge Welcome back sweetie! Congrats about the new changes hun! We have chickens as well and have got my first sourdough starter and getting into preserving as well.
@@Janaleigh we have 6. We got them at about 12 weeks old and then fed them chick feed until they started laying then 10 days after they started laying we moved them onto layer feed. There's a particular reason why - i'll ask hubby! I don't have the best health at moment so can't bend right down to garden so working on some raised plant beds on legs that we got from bunnings and going to get a couple with covers from the warehouse as well. Happy to email/'DM you ideas we used for raising chickens.
Will be cool to see how you organise the new place. Congrats on starting your own business - not an easy decision! Cannot believe #3 is toilet trained age!, that went fast!!
I actually can’t believe you remembered my birthday!!! That’s so sweet, it was a lovely day thank you! So relaxing I went for a Thai massage and Dane organised a sitter and took me out to my favourite Japanese restaurant, such a nice day! ❤️ you’re too sweet to remember that!!!
Loved it jana! As per usual 😂. Would love to see new budget for next place, how exciting ❤ chicken prices have come down. I saw yesterday in trademe there were $5 hens, i just brought a chicken couple days ago as one of our daughters chicken died so i had better replace it 😅 better then chicken prices of $60 plus that we paid in early 2023😢
Are you serious?!! $60 per hen. That is insane!!!! Well I’m glad they’ve come right down now lol I think I’d give it a miss at the old price lol. What’s your best tips for having chickens??? I’m excited but also nervous lol never had them before!
@@Janaleigh yeah and upwards some were fetching over 100 bidding, that happened with the whole egg shortage of xmas 2022, it was nuts! We got young hens this time around ( had ex battery many years ago ) just for longevity, and all from same place to reduce bullying betwen them, and essentially we built their coop with free scrap materials, so in all we spent very little so for us it works out cheaper to own chickens then to buy eggs. They easy care , the bigger the encloser they have the better for reducing fights between chickens, we have about 18sqm for 4 chooks. they don't need alot, a sheltered perch to sleep in, coop and hay to lay eggs, and food and oyster grit. Ours are very entitled noisy buggers, our kids handle them for hours a day , they even lie down on their backs with their feet in the air on the kids laps, like a cat it's so funny to see. They have brought hours of enjoyment to our kids which we never expected. Smelly don't keep too close to your home, they drink an insane amount of water so get the Biggest water feeder you can find to save u filling it every day. Clip one wing on all of them to stop them flying over the fence - safe and doesnt hurt lots of tutorials on youtube, free compost for your vege gardens too. Google has heaps info on them :)
Welcome back !! and congratulations on the house 🎉, missed your videos ❤.. your cash organising is Genious !! will you be making packing or moving videos?
Congratulations on your new home 🥳, I heard you mention sourdough - I hope you don't mind me asking did you make your starter yourself or purchase one? (I'm also NZ and wanting to start making sourdough)
I made my sourdough starter myself, it was about a year and a half ago, I’ll followed steps from an account on instagram but I can’t remember the name of the account now. I’ll try and find it and reply again if I have any luck. From what I remember I think it took about 12days until my starter became active. It was a process but we’ll worth it, she’s been thriving ever since! 🥰
