Love this. When I was younger I heard of this concept of 'paying yourself first' - which of course means what you're doing - sending money to savings for future you. I thought it meant buying wants 🤭 - thankfully, 25 years on I'm a bit better with my finances now.
Hahaha yes what you thought “paying yourself first” was was exactly what I used to do which got me into debt lol I’m glad I know how to save now. Also well aware of the privilege it is to even be able to save in todays world with the cost of everything constantly increasing. I’ve found your videos super inspirational it’s taught me that no matter how tight your budget is there is always room for savings even if it’s $5 going into a savings challenge.. because every little bit counts! X
Happy Birthday Jana. Best wishes from UK England 🇬🇧🎂💐. Really inspiring video. We're still working using your original method of budgeting. Take care xx
Thanks so much Tara! 32 yesterday.. I feel so old lol. Good on you guys still sticking to your budget!! Thanks so much for the bday wishes you’re the sweetest!! 🥰 X
Greece!! 😮😍 sooo cool hearing the places people watch from! I’ve never been to Greece but my parents have and it’s one of their favourite holiday destinations! Thank you for watching! ♥️
I'm glad you're back. Love the folder you have for sinking funds. 😍 I tried this system multiple times, but I can't seem to make it work. What do you do with all the change, do you keep it seperately in different envelopes?
Aw that’s a shame, I was so hesitant to try cash envelopes but now 3yrs later I can’t see myself ever going back to using just cards 😅 I’m nervous for the day cash is no longer a thing! The change just goes back into its envelope that it came from unless it’s at the end of the fortnight when I’m re stuffing them then it gets taken out and re stuffed or deposited. I keep my envelopes in my wallet and they fit so perfectly in the pocket of my wallet that the coins have no room to fall out, I always use up my coins before breaking a note too 😊
We use cash envelopes too and with all my change at the end of the two weeks goes into a jar and I save it up over the year and then at the end of the year there is a little bit of savings 🎉 last year we had just over $600 which was a big help with extra expenses over Christmas :)
@@ruthwilkes8834the general envelopes get reset (the ones that weren’t in the binder) that’s the household, petrol, takeaways, groceries, kids fun ones. Any cash leftover in them at the end of the fortnight gets added back into the cash stuffing cash for the next stuffing, there’s never much left in these ones though!
