Welcome to another vlog and it's a biggie! We leave Braunston (again, but this time in a different direction!) and head through my first ever double locks and straight into the 6th longest tunnel on the network. Did I have a complete nervy b I hear you ask? Reader, of course I did.
On a calmer note, we finally got to take our narrowboat through Lock 5 (Kendalls Lock) which was named after Andrew's dad, which was really special.
Our journey south continues (hopefully next week!!!) and I can't wait to share it with you guys!

I bet many think because you are from London and are photographers, you and Andrew are not “real” narrowboaters. But this video should remind such people that Andrew and his family have a very long history of working on the canals. I doubt there are many living on canal boats today have a lock bearing their family name! And well done Kris!

Congratulations 🎊🎈🎉🍾 You did it!!! Cheers to the Braunston Tunnel Survivors Club!! You did great Kris! Personally I would have been in the boat, flat out on the floor crying. You even passed another boat!!! Loved that Andrew’s mom was there helping with the locks and then the large group of woman watching you. Amazing that Andrew had the Raymond’s tiller pin and the family windlass, which looked immaculate, and that the lock was named after his dad. Andrew and his mom were great. I've kind of fallen in love with Andrew's mum... and the fact there's an actual lock in the family. The tunnel has made me want to have a cup of tea and a sit down... phew! 😅

Great job getting all the locks done Kris, imagine the pecs and glutes you’re going to have by the end of the summer😂. Well done in the tunnel as well, I think I’d have had to get off and walk above ground🫣. So nice to see Andrew’s mum on the boat and listening to her tell stories from her time on the boats. Lovely scenery as usual, you both just have an eye to make the mundane spectacular🥰🙋🏼‍♀️

Fantastic episode! The challenge and the daring! White shirt remained unstained through lock gears and gates and unsullied beneath dripping tunnel seams! The photography was, as usual, beautiful and shot with unusual angles. The physicality of the locks, the warmth of being with Andrew’s mum, and the terror of the tunnel involved this loyal viewer as nothing else I’ve seen in days. Wow! Kris, you’re a rockstar! Nice job on the tunnel!! I wasn’t even on the boat and I was sweating. Andrew is the absolute calm in the face of chaos, real or imagined. Never thought 2 boats would fit to pass each other but like Kris said more room than she thought. Rosemary, you’re also a rockstar. I loved hearing your stories about the locks and tunnels. Your family is truly an amazing source of knowledge about long boating. Don’t know if that’s the proper term but you get my gist. Don’t let your knowledge get lost. WELL DONE that girl. We have friends that used to live on the canal, near Skipton on the Leeds to Liverpool. We did have a nice day out with them, however I admit I chickened out of going through the mile tunnel at Foulridge, we met them on the other side. This tunnel does have traffic lights, but I'm just too clostrafobic . You most definitely deserve a glass or two. CHEERS It was nice to see Andrew's mum, I bet she can tell us a few stories about canal life. Already looking forward to your next video. Regards to you all, cheers Millysue

The RU-vid algorithm has ‘found you’ I have been watching some channels over the last few months Your canal boat is amazing. It’s how you and others manage to live in what is a confined space but you make it work. I suppose it makes you think about ‘clutter’ and ‘ stuff’. My house is full of ‘stuff’ and if I had to downsize I would have to get rid of a lot My relative is selling his flat in Notting Hill for around £700k. He has no ‘ties’ and has gone back to painting rather than his stall at Portobello Market This lifestyle would be ideal. Moor up at Little Venice Anyway ‘keep calm and carry on’ I live in Birmingham. That was a great video on every level. I loved it - then again, I love this channel. Congratulations on getting through the tunnel and surviving - and for looking impeccable after it all! BTW, I wouldn't recommend wearing Crocs for anything that involves water underfoot. They're great and comfortable but can get extremely slippy.

Your videos here are still the best! LOVE them every time, and they are the only one I'm following as everything else is just OVER & Over the same without most of the time any Q. One thing yet has Amazed me in this video near the start ... I never but heard about it ... seem a person with such white skin tone ever. Even towards your partner it is vary white + I assume what you call pure English or English Rose! GREAT all around all the best from New Zealand!!!

Love the vibes. One small thing maybe because watching on a phone.. maybe turn down the sound of boats, water / main sound of footage to let the music when music is being used, the piano is lovely at the start and would be great when there is less talking and more footage, nonetheless.. this is no criticism I love it!

Everyone knows its Docs for Locks not Crocs with Socks for Locks. What a nice story about Kendall's (does it have the possessive?) Lock. Wonder what footwear he wore for them? Say hello to yer mum...she's great.

Dead at the rhyme, hahaha. Might have to get that done in cross stitch for the wall! No possessive on the Lock name for whatever reason. Would have been boots in the olden days I reckon. All the photos I’ve seen of working boaters everyone was very smartly dressed, we’re utter slobs in comparison.
