It's been a minute... We've both been really busy but finally got around to painting our van with raptor bedliner. It didn't end well....
In this series, we are ONLY going to be using RU-vid tutorials to build a fully off-grid Camper Van from our 2014 Sprinter van. And we'll be doing it on a budget :) Make sure to subscribe to see our next videos.
We both have zero DIY experience, so we will be teaching ourselves everything we need to know using all the great tutorials that are out there on RU-vid.

White actually fits very well to this van, but if you want to make it custom - grey is a great choice. Also, this new sand looking color reminds me of German taxis.

Yeah, we were thinking a cream colour originally and it just sort of turned out buttery yellow. We'll just have to go again!

Love to follow your progress! When you started painting I thought it might turn out more mint yellow-ish which I think would have been really cool, but now it's sort of murky off white-buttery, so I completely understand your choice to repaint it!

Yeah something down that line, a bit darker and not butter colour!

Ahhh guys! The black badge in the front looks sick. But you are right about the colour. Raging for yas. A sand color or light grey could be cool. We are doing ours soon, watching this video has not made me excited for it at all. 😂😵

Nice job on the paint! But I'm not too sold on the colour either, the first thing that came to mind was the dog van in Dumb and dumber ;) I'm not sure if that's the actual colour, I'm colourblind. Shit happens, another coat of paint solves it! Reminds me of the time the wifey and I painted a bedroom baby blue. It looked great on paper but we hated it once it was on the actual walls so we ended up repainting it right away. Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks so much! I hired it for a weekend, took me 4 days with the sprayer. Second time when we painted it grey I borrowed a sprayer :)

I moseyed over to your Instagram to see if there was a better picture of the finished product and saw you mentioned something about khaki instead of beige. Is this the route you're thinking, or are you looking into a completely different color palette?

Yeah pretty much. We wanted it to be a cream colour and it turned out sort of butter yellow which we hate. So thinking now a bit darker, more khaki...

What is the crack with raptor paint, lots seem to be using it but what's different from regular auto paint.

Would recommend it, great stuff to use. It's like a gritty paint that is very hard wearing.

Nice work! If I could give you some advice, do a test panel such as the roof first, and let it dry- and then see what it looks like in the sunshine and shade etc because the raptor seems to slightly change with different light. Certainly did for us with both the cream and the dark grey

These companies need to stop including spray guns with these kits as 99% of the people buying them do not have the equipment and have no clue how to spray paint. You are far better off rolling the vehicle then spraying it.
