A Western New Yorker here, hour south of Buffalo in rural Collins NY. Really enjoy the content! Came across your channel while I was researching concrete work before I had a 30x15 patio poured at my house. Keep up the good work!!
Good morning Bondo and crew. Concrete is hard work. You guys make it look easy. True professionals! I would love to have a shop that big. The weather has been amazing. Enjoy your day and weekend brother.
I remember laying concrete back in ‘81 and it was full of steel slag. As we troweled it off little black pebbles (about 1/32”) of slag would rise up in the cream. It was a bit of a headache trying to smooth the surface.
@@bondobuilt386 I heard your comments about circle T using more pure ingredients and reminded me of that pour that had slag. I assume they use it as a cheap filler. I don’t finish concrete for a living, but I love watching your work. Keep it up!
@@bondobuilt386 yeah it looks like it would work fine for keeping frost out, just never seen that before. Just being a smart ass sorry! keep up the great work!
@@BooM-HeadsshoT no that was a good question. A lot of people never seen it done like that. The building owners learned how to form this by watching my videos and asking me questions
Why didn't you use a conveyor Ron to save a few $$. Bad ground, not enough reach, or just wanted an "easier" day? Great job as usual which goes without saying 👍
I’m having a 40x60 pad being poured. We had a fair amount of rain the other night and I was wondering how dry should it be before they bring in the gravel.
@@pjfan173 it depends on the ground. If it’s all clay then let it dry out but if it’s better free draining soils then you could get started laying in the base. I find wet clay will punch up into your gravel and ruin it if it’s put on wet clay. Driveway fabric will help also if it’s wet to keep gravel from getting contaminated with clay.
Why did they put gravel on top of the cement foam board? I always thought the sub-base gravel should be under the foam and then your radiant heat and wire mesh lays on the cement foam board?
