Matt D at first I laughed out loud - now I'm thinking this is not such a crazy idea?! How awesome would it be! Haha Wouldn't even surprise me if road safety was improved, without all the bs rules and bureaucracy these days
@@Tutamunga All the soccer moms and elderly and distracted millennials are more dangerous in the road than your average car enthusiast. At least those guys have more driving skills because they have taken themselves to the limit many times, and have learned control in extreme situations, and learned from their mistakes.
Brought a tear to my eye to see two old Fords at speed and in such awesome condition. Strange its not the USA but damn special. At least they are being loved and cared for.
As an arab muslim studying in the United States, Mike's words resonate pretty well with me. I made friends and ties here mostly through a shared passion for cars. 8:33 Mr. Musto, no truer words have been spoken. #WeAllSpeakHotRod
I love that analogy of having cars bring us together, that is true in sports, music, and even fashion. Its a common ground that we really need. That ford though looked magnificent.
My brothers first car was a 68 mustang. It was gold w/ blk interior and stock rims. If I remember correctly he bought it in 1972 - 73. Took him a couple years but he made it into a bullet car. He still owns it and its had a couple face lifts over the years. Maybe 4 or 5 years later he turbocharger it when turbos were starting to become popular. Put a teardrop hood scoop on it and Craiger s/s mags then painted it canary yellow. Brightest yellow I'd ever seen on a car. I moved to Las Vegas in 1981 and he gave it one last transformation . It must of been late 80's early 90's when he went thru the entire car and updated parts and the final color is like a gun metal gray. According to him it get driven once or twice a month and each year in the city of Papillion parade. Thanks again Big Muscle for trip down memory lane!
I... am...colossally...jealous... What a fantastic place. Great film, I envy you guys and citizens of the UAE. I can't even afford to fly my ass over there for temporary vacation. Glad to see people having a good time with cars either way!
Please tell me that somewhere out there in dubai, there is a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT painted black and done up mad max style. That would be amazing in that desert setting.
This is great. Great shots of a great car, and not overhyped. Just cool drivin in the hot sand....doing some Detroit diplomacy. Good to see on all levels. Like the message. That car does have a great stance too. Nice job fellas.
This is my new favorite episode of Big Muscle! Two badass Fords which just now became part of my dream garage... I hope they ended up driving that red beast!
/Big Muscle goes to the middle east; ends all world crisis through the great equaliser of automobiles. Oil prices drop to pre 70's prices and everyone buys a V8. Amen
There just isn't enough room for the "like" on this plus the gigantic grin induced by the red F-100 at the end. What a marvelous thing to share with us!
Mike! That bit about "The Great Equalizer" was so dead on! Hell yeah, dude, that took the piece for me. The Mustang was legit as hell, and the F-250 Prerunner was awesome, but for me, the best part was "Hot Rods are The Great Equalizer, baby."
That stretch of highway is as beautiful as the car. Like the southwest with a twist. As usual with Big Muscle, the cinematography is superb and you keep topping the last episode. :) #weallspeakhotrod
I had a 67 coupe in the same color with a top loader four speed on a 302. It had all the typical speed equipment such as headers, limited slip, Crane cam, roller rockers, etc. It was a blast to drive! I sold it during a change in life to buy several boats and a new RV trailer. It is now being driven in Europe!
“We all speak hot rod.” - Mike Musto #quote #hotrod #unity #drive #roadkill Big Muscle needs to do a special with Roadkill. Roadkill does an awesome job, but the /Drive team is raising the bar with these epic shots and editing. Your camera director has a great eye. What better taste of Big Muscle than Mike Musto taking a ride on a Roadkill adventure? :)
I haven't laughed out loud and enjoyed so much a video since the 36 turbo Chevy truck dragster. I have a restored 35. It does a quarter mile in a few minutes. And stops a minute later. That Ford rocking the sand just made me giggle.
Same thing with my Hamradio I can talk to people all over the world and sometimes I get too talk to certain countries and no joke I wish I was living there because a lot of things we do in America are 10 fold more in other countries this video was definitely one more favorite for me
the thing about the 68 mustang was it was the first year for the 390, which is what the Bulitt car was.... with a racing 5 speed and McQueen double clutching it for whatever reason, plus factory option glass packs and a 9 inch with limited slip, unlike this one that's obviously an open differential. Off road they may not care what you do, but on road Dubai has the most amount of radar traps that you will ever see and tickets are INSANELY expensive. CagerOnTwoWheels rented a Vrod while there and had to be VERY careful in how he rode it.
You just know these vids are too good when they leave you with a stupid grin on your face. Well done drive for giving us these quality videos, thank you!
i own a 71 camaro with a 350ci and live in dubai as well, and my father owns 5 trucks from 64 all the way to 78, and a couple of trans-ams. and yes :") we can only drive them 3 months every year
/DRIVE For real though, was that Ford truck appearance really live/not staged?! Mike, your reaction seemed genuine except the timing was just SO convenient! Great video all around!
We all speak car and we all speak hot rod.... That's true and, boy this is one of the best car videos I have seen so far this year!!! .... But in a land where fundamentalism still rules the day, leave a bad after taste.
It doesn't matter who rules what country. What does this guy and his car have to do with politics or corrupt leaders? And this is the UAE not Saudi Arabia. It's a very free country.
