Auntie Marvin Gaye was the crem of the crem. His talent was exceptionally one of a kind. His impact on the music industry was tremendous. The song Mercy, Mercy Me was an anthem for us all. Auntie, another great segement with you and Chocolate Divinty. Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday.
JHud did out sing Cher, but Cher seemed to take it in stride. And I was so proud of Queen Bey receiving the Innovator Award. She is the epitome of talent, grace, and beauty, and I also love how she honors the elders and ancestors.
they rehearsed,,had soundcheck, i think Cher got her life and enjoyed it! Thats why they asked her to do it! The legends love jhud, beyonce, and fantasia for their balls!! to the walls performances! its what legends are made of! love u patti!
Hello beautiful ladies. I wear my mask still. Someone at my job had covid. Always protect yourself.❤❤ Congratulations to Angela Bassett, and Sherrie Sheppard.❤❤
Stevie Wonders album ' songs in the key of life' was just this amazing inspiring album that was perfect for my teenage years. I love the music they gave us back then 💫⭐
Jennifer stays hollering which is why I don't get down with people comparing her to Whitney or Aretha. Those women knew HOW to sing, and there is a big difference in that knowing HOW.
Jennifer, Fantasia and all these whiny voice singers just scream. I don't listen to them. When Jennifer rejoined Cher onstage, I turned the volume down. Cher was even surprised by the ending. The performers practice before the actual date. But the way Cher was looking, she seemed surprised by the ending of HER song too. Jennifer really didn't need to duet with Cher anyway. Jennifer had already did Turn Back Time as homage to Cher.
Totally agree about Jennifer Hudson. That is the reason I did not go see her playing Aretha All she did was scream Aretha's soulful beautiful songs. Too much hollering.
Thanks Auntie. Thx for sharing the info in Rosetta Tharpe. Just like Rosetta, Tina Bell (a black woman) was a pioneer of Grunge music who was white washed out. 🎉 celebrate OUR Own👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hey Auntie! Hey Toya! I don't blame you for masking up. I still wear my mask too! I missed the awards, just caught it to see the end of Cher and JHud. I hope that Lizzo doesn't quit. She always had self love and self-esteem, but it can be so hard to deal with the bullies. She's so talented, so I hope things get better for her. RiP to Marvin Gaye. You ladies look great today! Thank you for what you do!
Great chess move by Beyonce by not only putting out a country album but getting country icons (Dolly Parton) and legends in general (Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney) to perform on it! I bet those who snubbed her/made her feel unwelcome at the CMA's are punching 👊🏽in the air rn. 🤭 Hee haw! 🤠
Big hugs to you Auntie and Chocolate Divinity! Very informative show. I learned so much from your show that no one else knows, but you do your homework. I forgot all about Rosetta Tharpe. PBS did a special on her about 15 yrs ago and it was Fantastic. We Love you Ladies! Another great show today! ❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️
Patty, Chocolate, imo...Rosetta Tharpe was a true innovator. Often imitated, never duplicated. She was powerful! J-Hud is a Broadway singer...she can give full power to whatever she sings. Cher is very aware she, herself, not a singer. Martha Reeves' Walk Of Fame Ceremony was outstanding. btw the Walk Of Fame is being renovated...new stars are being placed where the sidewalk is in repair. Mr. Gerry is a Cat-Zaddy! The ginger hair looks wonderful, as does the color purple on the nails!
Hi Ms. Patty R.I.P to the legendary Marvin Gaye. One of the greatest acts from Motown who gave us timeless music. Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce continue to shine and stay true to who you are. Love that statement about acknowledging the musicians who paved the way for your success. There would be no me without you. Congratulations Martha Reeves. She finally got her Hollywood Star❤❤❤ Great Scoop
When I heard Willie Jones' voice on 'Just For Fun', which is my favorite, I had to look him up. That's a fine brother from New Orleans😂. I played a few of his songs and he sounds great.
I have been wearing my mask since day 1. The only time I don't wear it is in the pool for water aerobics. Not too many people at church & I still wear it. As a matter of fact I'm the ONLY one wearing my mask. I don't know who they have been around & I already had covid Jan. 2023. And it was not bad for me, I just had a sore throat for a few days and lost my taste for 1 day. But I know & have been around a couple of people who have gotten covid in the last month. Never mind, I will keep my mask on. 😷
Oh I haven't seen it now I'm going to watch it. Great to see u two as always. Will always love Marvin's music. Jhud is a loud singer😆 but I give her her flowers for all she's done.
Patty, Stevie Wonder's Album "Song's in the Keys of Life," was the first album I've ever purchased back when I also was 11 or 12. My mother gave me $15 allowance for some reason and back then the record store was across the street from where I lived. I even remembered that the album cost $12.99 and I also remembered that bonus 45 record and the song book that came with. Now they've brought vinyl albums back along with the suitcase style record players. I would love to replace that album again. I do have the CD version.
Love the wig, wear it again and again. Looks great on you. Always nice seeing LaToya. Yes keep that mask on. COVID is not going away. I recorded the awards show, will watch and try not to laugh too hard at some of the antics. Shout out to Katt Williams for getting Melba Moore her star on the Walk of Fame. Well deserved! Stay blessed my sister Queens!!
Toya don't blame you...I wonder what other great music wldv been made had he lived...the awards show was ok, I think Jhud was expected to help Char out & give us a show, I loved Beyoncé's speech I love that Stevie Wonder presented her, Stevie is an Iconic legend and we shouldn't be surprised where he shows up! Cowboy Carter is proving to be a history lesson!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾..Martha should've had a star
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Why yall so funny!! 😂 On the serious side, I wear a mask depending on the setting! At the doctors office…anywhere there’s a large indoor crowd of folks! Folks coughing, snotting & snorting 😮 Anyway, not surprised at Jen singing over Cher 😳 Have a day y’all 😊
Jhud can't/shouldn't Dim her Shine. Cher has her own star power singing isn't her strongest point, she's a great entertainer, she's smart, Cool, very beautiful, amazing actor I'm sure she's not threatened by Jhud.
In her prime, singing was definitely a strong point for Cher. She could and routinely did hang with the best during her many live collaborations. But she is far from her prime and Jennifer, as usual, showed no mercy. She made the performance about Jennifer instead of the artists she was supposed to be honoring.
HEY AUNTIE PATTY AND HOTT TOYA! AUNTIE PATTY YOU LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL WITH THAT HAIR AND THE HAIR COLOR! I LOVE IT!!!!! THANKS AS USUAL FOR THE HOTT HOLLYWOOD SCOOP! I MISS DEXTER TOO! LOVE YA'LL DEARLY! ❤️🩹 ❤️ ❤️🩹
Toya Tuesday❤🎉👋🏾! Yes,Covid is still here. My pregnant stepdaughter & her toddler recently recovered from Covid💔. I don’t wear a mask anymore but I use antiseptic swabs before I go anywhere.
@@nessastew1205 Doctors and nurses have used swabs for a long time to guard against getting infections from patients. At the beginning of the pandemic my primary care physician remarked that he was swabbing even more. I asked of it was only available to medical professionals. He said no & wrote me a prescription for the local compounder. After I ran out,I searched for an option where I wouldnt need an RX for it and found Nozin on Amazon. Then I found an even better option for me on Amazon, Base Laboratories Nasal swabs. I love that the swabs are prepackaged, pre-moistened w/the solution and easily transportable. The Nozin was transportable but you had to actually put drops of it on a cotton swab.
Hi Patty. At one time, there was talk about them making a movie about Marvin Gaye and having the actor Jesse L. Martin portray him. I think it would be an excellent choice for him to play Marvin. I loved him on Law and Order and think he is an outstanding actor. Haven’t heard anymore talk about it and now Jesse has a new show so maybe he wouldn’t be available anyway.
Please google Rosetta Tharpe!!!! She was a gospel, jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, and the rock and roll legend!!! She was Aretha Franklin’s inspiration. Ms. Tharpe was known as the Godmother of rock ‘n’ roll. Not sure if it’s still there, but if you are, in LA stop by the CAAM museum and see the “How Sweet the Sound” exhibit ❤
