Not necessarily in this case because she was trying to force herself to like traditional gowns. Of course you’re going to go through a lot of dresses if you have a specific vision but it ends up not working out.

It was a sample dress so she would’ve had to pay for the full balance and taken it home with her.

I think she wanted a bargain and she got it. I guess she worn it at her wedding since her budget was only $4k and 6 months away.

No one on the show has ever said that they’re more beautiful than the average girl because they’ve been in pageants. lol. Usually when it’s brought up, it’s to emphasize that they’ve had or going to have difficulty finding a dress because they’ve had on so many.

@@thehungrygoldfishI agree to some extent but I must say that they do sort of emphasize that they are more beautiful than the average person. Pageants are based on beauty right? But I must say that not all beauty contestants are beautiful or look that great.

Well none of them were glitzy and glamorous.

I find most dresses they describe as traditional actually aren't. To me, traditional is what my great grandmother wore and consequently my Mum as she wore the same dress, lace, high neck, long sleeve button up, none of the zip up, bling, beading sleeveless, satin stuff. It takes a certain physique to pull off traditional. Anyone with broad shoulders is basically out lol because the high neck looks terrible on people with broad shoulders. It's about proportions.

Well, she does actually have to get married 😂 I don’t think she’s expecting to drag her friends to go dress shopping for 15 years.

People keep saying that but I don’t think it was ever going to happen with her. The reason why it took her so long to find a dress was because she was stuck on the idea of wearing a traditional dress. Once she switched styles, it clicked for her that she did not want a traditional gown.

@@AFAskygoddessKeep in mind it’s a sample dress. With sample dresses. They have to pay for the balance in full and take it home with them and it can’t be refunded. So if the bride changes their mind, they’re stuck with the dress.

The seams in the lining showed through to the outside. When she tried on a sample dress, it likely wasn't her size and was clipped so the seams didn't show in the same way.

What are you talking about? There was no talk about getting a deal or a lower price. The discount was offered by the manager. She didn’t ask for it.

It’s not that simple. This seems like a case of the bride wanting a specific thing but it just didn’t work out for her so she had to branch out and switch styles to eventually find what she didn’t know she wanted.

It's also different for someone who has been in pageants all her life and it showed her modeling wedding gowns as well. When you've worn a thousand beautiful dresses already, it would definitely be harder to find something that wowed you compared to a person who has never worn the gorgeous dresses because every dress is exciting to them!

It was a very safe option, she could have done so much better but so long as she was happy that's all that counts.

She is an older woman with 3 adult daughters, so a conservative gown suits her well. Wouldn’t she look ridiculous in one of those tacky Pnina Tornai see-through gowns? If I were a bride of her age I wouldn’t wear a bridal gown, I’d wear a tasteful long dinner gown. Fluffy white bridal gowns and veils are for the young. The first beauty pageant bride was gorgeous in that last taupe gown. White was not becoming on her with her deeper toned skin color, but wow did she rock that taupe gown.

It she'd kept it with the straps, it was quite nice on her. Putting the cap sleeve aged it a lot.

It has nothing to do with age. The only younger consultants that were on the show at the time were Sarah and Jessica. I don’t think either of them would’ve done much better than Audrey. I feel like Diane would’ve done a better job. But Audrey did the best she could with the information that was given to her and the stock she had at the time.
