The reason the 2021 D Morgan in MS 70 is so expensive is because the quality control at the Denver mint during the minting of the Morgan’s was not good and many had issues.

I just checked a 1952 jefferson nickle it has highest price of 13,130

You missed the part of coin snap that does tell you an estimated grade. It's in the graph part. You can get the mintage when you use the grading portion of the app.

The 2021 D is a condition rarity. They had a lot of problems out of the Denver mint and very few out of the total Denver mint coins got graded an MS70 in comparison to the rest

i have an 1899 morgan dollar that has a range of $36 to $25,000 is that common? how do you narrow that down? have a few others with a huge range. I assume take it to someone, but who and how do i know they wont be like oh ya thats not even worth $5.

You overlooked the pcgs NFC option, app says scanning but I have no idea what it wants to scan? It is right next to scan barcode.

Love the app but it is not accurate in pricing so be careful

I'd like a scanner where I could take a bucket of old coins, spread them out on a table, half heads, half tails and have the software identify the heads: coin type and year and make a CSV file. That way I could sell the bucket with some kind of statistics for the buyer. Not looking to find that special coin, just need to sell the bucket for some kind of premium. NOTE: and with the distribution of dates, the app could also estimate the probability that the bucket was already picked over by some collector 50 years ago.

Coin snap does not work the easiest way to find out is if you take a picture twice if it shows the same exact thing like it did the last time you took it then it’s real if not then it’s fake. That’s how I found out that coin snap was fake.

The two apps you reviewed have nothing in common. One identified a coin the other app reads a bar code. Do you really think that's a comparison?

I’m sorry this feels like an Apple/Grapefruit comparison. The PCGS will only give you info on coins they have graded, what about coins that aren’t graded? What app works best to figure out if you should grade them or not

That first app might pick up varieties if your hand was still or using a tripod/phone holder

The coinsnap app didn't work for me? I tried 5 different coins (with good lighting and focus) and the app got all 5 wrong. The dates were off, mintmarks unread. Thumbs down here and certainly won't give them money to see if works then...I would have paid to upgrade too, but I lost my interest.

I inherited a coin collection, mostly US coins. Nothing is graded and I don't plan on keeping them. I have sold a few of the coins already but currently know nothing about coins or the hobby......as for selling them on certain websites, what app do you recommend for Identification and ball park value so I don't auction them at a stupid low price...or ask way too much? On another note: any input as to how I'd figure out if I should send a coin in to get graded or not? I ask because I have seen some half dollars ungraded sell for 3.00 but graded sell for 3k...just one example. I am new to this so I appreciate any and all feedback

Snap is kind of cool but you should be able to catalog and grade with same picture and it said a price then I graded with next pictures and values were good on some but went back in to look for those and it didn't have that price from after grading so I can't find which ones it said we high after grading ..and I did like 500 coins .

I know face value, melt value, relative rarity then I assign my personal value to it, i.e. some inherited stuff that the market would value differently to me. until the cash is in your hand, you never know what it's worth to someone else.

Most of these are not accurate and your personal info is usually stored on servers outside of the country. AI does not know how to appraise coins yet. They know what you have scanned and what you have in your collection. How trusting is the user?

So can either of these apps scan a coin and tell you if it's an error coin? I have a large amount of old coins that I've inherited, and I want to review them to see if by any chance any of them are error coins, but I'm a novice and I don't know if I would be able to spot something myself. And so far I don't seem to be able to find any professionals who have any interest in helping me out, so if an app could do that, that would be fantastic.

Decent little app used it for a month

I have the paid for version - works great on older coins... new coins, not so much. Have Canadian, Austrian and Australian (sovereign mint) coins that they miss on. PS the AI aslo sucks because it can't fix the app.

Thanks dude. Uhm i scanned a 1973 no mint mark with corrosion that green stuff i managed to get it off and scanned it on the app and said like $2480. Mint never bin used MS 60
