This is an excellent machine. Love the operation of it. The taller deck would be excellent when working with most common firewood poles around 6-14” it seems. Good point on the larger rounds however!

Yes it should work very well. Excavator machines are the best way to go for large rounds! A close second would be our skid steer machines!

Great question! Yes, a second person would be helpful if you were stacking the split wood. It can also be very beneficial to have a second person if you are splitting smaller diameter logs, especially if the logs only require one pass. A few videos ago we did the face cord challenge, there you can see the benefit of a second person. Mind you, we are moving much faster than we usually would, but I am sure you get the idea. Thank you very much!

With 2 people one guy runs the controls while the other guy helps offload a few pieces and keeps the lift full of wood. This machine really shines if you have 3 or 4 people as at full speed there is no way possible to keep it full of wood. We maxed out at 1.5 cords in 30 min with 4 people but we were exhausted . At that rate the 4 way wedge rarely stopped moving.

Yes the splitting power is the same. The pump and engine are still able to hit the relief pressure. Yes it is close to the same speed. The standard 4000 series machine might still be a touch slower when compared to half rpm on the high flow. If both workers are trying to hustle, it might end up being the slower part of the operation. Too fast only becomes an issue if you are using the machine unsafely (one person managing wood and another person operating the handle). The odds of loosing a finger/hand go up a lot when pairing a high flow with this type of operation. If you are operating safely, the machine can just wait for you to split the next round. No issues with that.
