Wow! That's what I call a positive "infestation" of seedlings! Hopefully the gardeners will not chop or weed them out. I can't wait to see a nice grove in a number of years.
Yeah it's pretty incredible, and there are a number of others scattered around the park, I LOVE it! Yeah many of the seedlings have been there for a number of years and some of them are already developing mature-ish fronds, thankfully the gardeners haven't touched them at all, unlike at the Smithsonian, where they rip them all out. I can't wait either, I will keep you updated!
@@texastropics Thanks, I definitely will be once it has seeds on it. There are a bunch of Sabal minor here which produce seed, I might sell some of it on eBay once I collect it. Thanks and take care!
not to take away from the Sabal minor but do you know if they dry protect that Yucca rostrata in winter? It's of course cold hardy but didn't think it could tolerate the wet feet in winter in the east.
Nope, no protection, they are very wet tolerant in addition to being super cold hardy. There are huge ones up into New England. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more videos, take care!
