True, mostly these dealers force customers to buy Insurance from them only, saying you cannot take it from outside. We actually paid double the insurance premium considering lets go ahead it being the first time, while renewal we will do it from outside. It is only Tata dealerships where we heard the agents saying themselves, that you can take the insurance from anywhere and they keep the insurance part separate in the quote as well..
Not all TATA dealers are truthful in giving quotations. I have seen they, too, give hyped prices & later on reduce on Insurance & RC charges; so that customer gets lured in buying the vehicle. The same goes with Mahindra dealers too. After all, these dealers have to run their franchise & pay the staff. Indian 4 wheeler industry is quite a SCAM itself from 1st sale to service to pre-owned.
@@FreeSpiritRAJim about to make a purchase with tata for the new tata safari i compared from 4 different tata outlets in mohali and chandigarh and all of them gave me fair quotations of insurance for both harrier and safari.
Also, in most of the cases, IDV reduced to 90% in insurance purchased from the dealer. So, always take your insurance from online channels with close to 100% IDV and save upto 40 to 50% on premium.

I immediately cancelled and walked out without wasting a second got the same dealers HONDA branded car with almost 73K dis and getting delivery on 20th aug.
The main problem is that people think that the vehicle price is inclusive of insurance, that they have no choice on them but to pay. This is what dealerships are milking out of poor customers who end up paying inflated premium to chase their dreams. Also accessories, its only wise to take what is actually needed, I picked up mine from a list I considered essential. I also negotiated with DKH KIA that 5D mats are available at much more cheaper rates and they obliged to give discounts. Same with extended warranties, that you can take afterwards as well, keep in mind there is a definite period within which it has to be taken or activated. But not at all compulsory to pay at the time of invoicing or delivery.
Yes, sir you are right, yesterday I visited one the famous car brand's showroom(don't want to disclose the name). The insurance premium is almost half online. And dealer said that you are not allowed the outside insurance and we provide 10k discount. The same rules that you told in this video was put before him by me also but still they were so rude and denied me. In AP, RTO is charging life tax on road price of the car instead of invoice price. Even dealers are not showing invoice price in quotations. Some have gone to court for which court gave orders in favour of customer, inspite of this also RTO authorities not heeding to court’s directives. How to tackle this menace.
Just pay the extra amount and get your benefit. Don't try correcting the system. It's a time waste. This is how we can live here. If not better to find living in some another country.

i bought my 1st car in 2012 santro gls.. the dealer offered me free reg,insurance, teflon coating, antirust coating, car cover, seat cover, matting, mudflaps.. i just paid the exshowrrom price. in 2018 i bought another car ford ecosport. i negotiated and got a discount of 40k .. i was again planning another car but seeing the loot going around i eventually bought a preowned car from hyundais preowned section with 1 year warranty , 2 free service 1 year road side assistance. the car is just 4 yrs old n 40k done looks just like its been purchased a year back. i feel pained for those middle class ppl who are subjected to such loot. we need such videos to aware the ppl.

My case: About 4 lacs bike purchase Insurance mentioned was x amount, policy document, only blur first page was shared without amount. Some how i was able to download policy from website. In which amount was y, i followed up with dealer and got difference amount, which they adjusted in first service.
There is a secondary scam regarding insurance. If you purchase online insurance and your vehicle is involved in an accident. The showrooms or authorized workshops don't offer cashless repair, plus the surveyor who comes to check the damages hangs your case. Whereas when you purchase the same insurance from the dealer, the process is hassle free and is quickly addressed to. Saying this from a personal experience. Though not all dealers or workshops follow this practice, most of them do.
It's not true. If you are not ready for reimbursement system then ask the workshop/insurance company to provide the cashless garage list . You can choose among the companies listed in there. Also most insurance companies now provide instant settlement within few hours/days. So you can expect reimbursement before paying the bill amount.

You are 100% correct as I had opted for a another online insurance and met with a small accident the same year,. The car got damaged on the rear side and the dealer informed me that the Tinkering / Denting / replacement etc., cost will be Rs.45000/= approx. and asked me to pay the same at the time of delivery (was not cashless as I had opted for an online insurance policy for the second year). As usual the surveyor visited and it took almost 20 days for the online insurance company to pay me the amount.
Sir aap insurance ki baat kr rhe hai... Dealers FASTAG ke naam par 500-600rs. add krte hai aur fastag mei 100rs ka balance dete hai woh bhi as security amount... Even on other hand agar aap khud le fastag toh 500rs mei 200rs balance milta hai and 200rs security.... Esa mere sath bhi ek hyundai dealer ne delhi mei kiya tha. yeh dekhne mei chota amount hai but haar dusre customer ke sth yeh hota hai.
Another scam run by dealers is replacing OE tyres with cheaper brand before delivery. This of course happens more in tier 2 cities where customer is not very particular about brand of tyres offered in the model.
Maruti dealerships main bahut yeh problem bahut hai. Accessories, insurance main hi yeh dealers humse paise loot lete hain aur maybe car manufacturers se bhi yeh discount lete ho who knows.
Maine scorpio n purchase kiye hai abhi bhi delivery nahi liye baki sab billing ka kam ho gaya , dealer ne mujhe 1.30 lakh insurance ka budget diya tha 😂😂 but maine acko general insurance se 70 k me with alll add ons ke sath kiya jo ki dealer offer kar raha tha us se bhi 4 se 5 cheez jyada hi mila .
This is so true, showrooms do not even talk to customers with a quotation if they say they will take the insurance outside the dealer. They are threatening that the waiting period would be up by about 9 months more and scared that the car price would increase by 2-3 lakhs. This is seen a lot especially with Vehicles with long waiting period Like Mahindra Xuv 700. He wrote a mail to the Mahindra customer care and was called back and indirectly scared that the waiting is 1.5 years longer and price would shoot up by 2-3 lakhs more if delayed. The diff in showroom and online is 70-80 K Rupees. The showroom does not even care and don't think the customer care cares either as most of them are outsourced. What a shame !
Knew this. Went to Kia showroom and sales guy denied selling the car if i don't get insurance from them. Went to Renault. Online quote was cheaper. But sales guy said that the coverage is higher, in terms of parts, that i can't get online. There was no way to check this. 😢
Booked Exter recently in Mumbai. I was clear on not wanting insurance from dealer. One dealer refused to offer the car initially. After escalation, he offered to match the quotation I bring but doubled the waiting period. I ended up with insurance match offer only but with another dealer
I knew this plan by Hyundai dealers across pan India is doing the same. I went and changed the whole brand itself the whole brandship of Hyundai is doing this and telling customer about long waiting period and stuff. Shame !!!
Yes it is true. I had booked Hyundai i10 Nios AMT Sportz on 10th Jun 23. I have checked the insurance quotation offered by the dealer is around 70% higher than market rate. Hence, opted for taking insurance from market. Dealer was offering 50% discount on insurance but till it is higher. Also, there is 3 months waiting period for AMT version of Nios. Can you please tell me is it true ? Why so much waiting period? They have told to deliver the car by this month end. Hopefully they deliver. Anyway, your point is right. Thanks for sharing.
my father has ertiga and i had an argument over this high insurance premium, its evident that fathers dont listen to their sons and still he is renewing insurance from a showroom for more than 40% hike in premium. he just dont want to listen!!!!

You are very right about these scams. I have always taken insurance independently for all my cars (new & renewal) thereby saving a lot of money. This time my dealer said that if I renewed the policy directly, there would be higher deductions in the event of a claim. Paying black money for any car selling in India is stupid. I am sure in such instances, both the manufacturer and dealer are hand-in-glove. How can the waiting time for any vehicle be one year!!? Is the manufacturer hand-assembling the car!?? If there is such incompetence then it defeats the proposition of Make In India!
Same thing I noticed for Hyundai cars.their insurance is too high compared to other showroom. Once I said I will take insurance from outside they delay my booking
Tip : Never tell them that you are buying insurance from outside or don't try to negotiate them with the online quotation that you have. Once the car comes , record their audio and keep it . Do the PDI, tell them that online quotation is less or you will take insurance from outside and you will give them the papers . They won't deny the car.

there is absolutely no harm in telling the dealer about self insurance! In this way u can immediately guage the authenticity of the deal if he wants to make u a fool or guinenuly interested in making your ownership better!
Sir, I bought XL6 E20 Petrol. Within 7 days of booking from a small Nexa showroom i got my car. They have also given 10k discount in comparison to other big chain showroom. Whereas big chains were telling a waiting time of 2 months or to buy from their DSA paying black. I also got an XL6 cng for my friend within 15 days.
Again the problem is, aapko ab gaadi tab hi milegi jab AAP unki sharton pe unki jeb me extra Paisa bharenge.. warna gaadi hi nahi dete chahe aap 2 saal wait kar lo.. full neechta macha rakhi hai.. govt bhi businessmen se mili Hui hai tabhi aise rules banaye ke gaadi 10 saal 15 saal me bekaar ho Jaye aur hame nayi gaadi kharidni hi pade. Kahan aur kiske paas jaaye Sara system corrupt hai sabko Paisa jaata hai
Sir I think you should have explained a bit more on how to deal with the dealers in these situations. This is the most common and most impacting fraud currently happening. I have experienced this while I went to purchase a innova hycross VX. The insurance they quoted was for 1.5lakh from Toyota insurance, and they justified the over charge by saying that the outside insurance does not cover the hybrid batteries. Over that they wanted me buy 50k worth of accessories plus a 10k logistics charge. When I insisted that I want to buy insurance from outside, they said then they won’t be selling the car. This was Rathod Toyota Vapi. I cancelled my purchase. And all this happened on the day of delivery. I escalated to Toyota, no reply. I ended up hating Toyota forever and still today did not purchase any car.
Such “scams” are also common at US auto dealership ! Not only they try to sell you insurance for items like “ding” on your car , car paint to name it ! Buyer Beware , walk away !

Same practice followed by Mahendra dealers they are selling 1.5 lakhs extra for vehicle delivery within 15 days to 1 month Thar and scorpio n. I have recorded video of salesman of dealership of Rajasthan.
If any showroom deny you for delivery of car by not purchasing insurance from them then directly wrote a complaint letter to head company with referring that showroom name.tjen they will do whatever you want

Irrespective of from whom customer is buying premium rates shd be same.Yes you can pay additional for big volume but not anything more. Govt shd step in and stop this malpractice as many gullible ones get defrauded..
Best option is to go for first year from the dealer and take all the discounts that are on offer and next year switch the insurance company and pay online directly.
While Booking the nexon i have been told insurance with only zero depreciation add on for cost of 45k. when I told online its showing around 20k then said then can give 70% discount for there own and quoted me 37K. when I told its without ad on and still much more then they told me If I want can get from outside. Although still need to see whats going to happen at time of delivery. I have done PDI last weekend but will get delivery by Aug end due to astrological reasons
What is the funda of 1 year comprehensive and 4 years third party ? Dealers say it is compulsory as per RTO for 5 years insurance is to be taken ? Is this true ? How can this be avoided ?

Even in maruti suzuki service centers in Mumbai now they do not have cashless facility for Non-Maruti Insurance Policies. All this so that you buy from Maruti Insurance Brokers and pay higher premiums.
Here in my location when I go to buy Exter from Hyundai,almost 45 k for Exter s variant, I told them to get bargain price they told not even reduce a single rupees, he told Hyundai itself insurance company, shall I go for external insurance company?
Go for the external insurance Co. you could use the same amount of difference for something else. Dealer will anyway make money through some other customer somehow. Rather save your hard earned.
Pathetic experience with Tata dealership. Went for Punch, they ordered the old variant, then said old won't be given. Waited for a month, then they allotted new one after so much waiting and didn't give any price protection. Then today when car came for PDI, they gave a wrong vehicle. Pathetic experience from Tata motors in Dombivli area. Customer is forced to pay new prices and a pathetic wait for goof up at dealer end and Tata Motors end..

We have argument with Tata dealer on the insurance. Obviously he was not listening and not ready to sell the car so we reached out to company Twitter handle and results was positive and received call from the same tata dealer and was ready to give car without insurance.v😊

On road price kabhi bhi maat puchna at showroom. Always ask Exshowroom price, negotiate the discount, then ask for Bharat registration and get insurance on your own. Kaafi kam ayegi on road price. For the first time you should not pay more than 50% of the dealers quote for insurance and next year 40% of the amount whatever you have paid for the first year...and i have done it successfully ...
