"Why does this work so well" Its because toby made all his songs like a cookie cutter and then decorated them differently. They could literally all be broken apart and put back together like a mix and mash puzzle and it would still sound fantastic. Hes literally a wizard.
Toby Fox's songs are like Tetris pieces. If you stack them *just* right, you can accomplish something greater than ever before. It also takes quite a lot of abuse to truly ruin them (aka a game over)
I’d be so happy if one of the secret bosses was just a boss pulled from the real world. Like convincing Undyne to go to the dark world with you, and she immediately tests her new powers on you.
@@gotsomham the secret bosses seem to have this thing with freedom so Undyne is out of the picture. Actually, despite that, she is out of the picture either way. Doubt Toby would give a big role to one of the main characters of Undertale(with one the the hardest fights, on top of that). She'll get at least the same treatment as, say, Lancer or Berdly(constantly appearing but doesn't really serve any story relevance most of the time)
The heavily syncopated hits in this song work so well with the straightforward but hard-hitting drums, especially when they occasionally break that beat to compliment the syncopated parts more directly
@@TheGrammarNazi123 Syncopation is when music things happen at times that aren’t the main pulse of the music. You can count the main beat of the song as a fast 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 right? Well in big shot some of the accented melody notes happen in between those counts instead of on them so they kind of hit harder as a result. That’s syncopation. The Megalovania drums are for the most part just straight with the beat instead of syncopated, but at some moments, the drums do go syncopated which goes with big shot’s syncopation and it sounds really cool.

i think it works well because both songs are chaotic in nature (in different ways) on one side there's spamton neo and his overall craziness on the other there's sans throwing everything he has at you to kill you
This somehow feel closer to sounding like an actual song rather than the backing to a boss fight. Those background lyrics actually give me chills in this version.
