@@Thalor im with you. seems like he is passing on as much info as he can save some supper secret stuff. he "lets slip" some secrets by saying its secret on some of his videos. the real secret are when he rebuilds them. the industry is changing and cars will become electric. i have a feeling that may have something to do with his willingness to pass on some wonderful knowledge. watching him work and run through the teardown is a treat edit: would love to see some rebuilds

I've been building big HP Ford engines for 20 years. I'm amazed at the transmission knowledge he has across various brands. All the tips and tricks he recites from memory as well as the various stock modifications and upgrades across the many versions of each transmission. This is a professional. Period. Great and massively informative videos. I could watch him work and listen to his vast knowledge all day long. I know who I want building my next bracket and NMRA tranny. Location?

I have had this conversation with a mechanic friend mine about balance of torque through the drive train. His reply was I am the ace certified mechanical genius. A week or two later he would be under his mechanical concoction replacing broken and bent parts. Not applying math first is a pain in the wallet. Torque will break things much faster than HP. He got real good at taking things apart and replacing them. Push rods, valves , clutches and internal auto trans parts. He was also real good at breaking manual transmissions. He never got good at fixing them. When they break not as easy to fix as a automatic. But I know how to fix a network operating system. Had to learn a bit of math to get there.

When people talk about all that they're supposedly going to do to their car, they usually use phrases like "Turbo, supercharger, bored-out cylinders, etc". Yeah i had an old german mercedes tech who taught me some of my biggest lessons. He taught me not to look at it as brand specific parts but understand each individual components purpose and function and you can use them to do what you want. 4 example running a 2005 honda accord v6 on GM 1980s hei ignition modules. Sounds crazy? But works cause if u understamd what the modules do u can use them to do what the honda needs. Really went a long way to removing the fear of "exotic" & german cars. I knew how it all worked and why so no problems. Except old VWs and german wiring diagrams they still mess me up haha

Dave I have a transmission from a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD 5.9 gas engine. I have read that the transmission is a weak unit. My question is, can the transmission be rebuilt to be a much stronger unit or can I purchase a stronger unit??? What options do I have? Your reply is greatly appreciated

Do you have any opinions on the ford 6f35 in the fusion has 2-3 delay/bump...drain and fiilled dirty fluid at 30k,40k 50k, still the same...can synthetic dex6 be used instead of the ford lv fluid, or another non lv fluid?
