Gotta be the most asinine reason to like a band. I’m sure the band is gleeful about the hair color of A. L. never mind the cleaver musical arrangements, thoughtful song writing, and powerful vocals. Fkn hair color ugh.

Adrianne Lenker is one of the best songwriters of our time but you get the sense that her emotions transcend the spoken word and that's why her guitar solos are so amazing.

Also very reminiscent of Elizabeth Powell's voice from the band Land of Talk (another Saddle Creek artist). I believe Land of Talk are now defunct, but still worth checking out if you like Big Thief.

what's up with the drummer here? he's sloppily playing very different parts in this performance. hard to listen to if you know the song at all

The drummer in this video, James Krivchenia, is a different drummer from the one who recorded the album Masterpiece w/ Big Thief (that would be Jason Burger). I actually prefer the way James plays. His playing is looser but I find it more satisfying to listen to.
