Also, about the septum, it might be better to take it out if it's crooked, it won't heal straight, then get it repierced when it heals over (if you still want it)

I just wanted to send you so much love in regards to your aunt. My aunt had cancer during the final semester of my last year of college (uni) and I was incredibly busy and 6 hours away by car from home and was only able to see her once between the time she was diagnosed and the time she passed. It was so difficult for me to be trapped at school and very busy while she was so sick. I think it was the hardest experience of my life. I can’t tell you how much you’re going to appreciate your choice to spend time with her over everything else. Please don’t worry about vlogtober and my advice is to realize that this is time you may never get back. I wish I had gone home more weekends that semester to see her even though my grades would’ve suffered. In retrospect, it disgusts me how I put my schooling above her. Learn from my mistake.

Philosophy! I spent my younger years at school not really going, and then cramming when I would go and getting away with it. That's given me a false sense of my own intellect - I really cannot cram philosophy and it has been humbling lol, its endlessly interesting, though :)

Good luck with all your studies everyone! I am also a "mature" student. I'm 27 and will be 28 when I start my MA degree. I also didn't care about my schooling when I was younger. Never usually got higher than a C. Thought I couldn't do well at college because of that, but realized when i care about school and doing well i did much better. Even got on the Dean's List! Keep going after those dreams and goals no matter your age! So much can change in a few years 😁😁😁

I had my septum pierced a year ago and then took it out - been thinking about getting it re-pierced the last couple of weeks and seeing you having yours has totally convinced me! Looks great and congrats on finishing your MA 😻

I’ve got a septum and nostril ring as well, although I had my septum first, and I hated it for about a month when I put a ring in my nostril, but it has ended up growing on me. I definitely suggest a slightly smaller, more fitted ring in your septum, it makes it a lot more subtle and feels a lot better when you’ve got a small face/head, as I do as well.

Love hearing what books you're in the middle of finishing etc. I always do that with reading a bunch at once and leaving some behind. You inspire me to be able to more critically and articulately explain why I like a book- I feel like I understand why but can have a hard time putting it to words. You have to take time out and watch Maniac on Netflix. Just finished binging it and its SUCH a great concept. It reminds me a lot of the Fifth Element as far as the theme taking place (in another dimension) in futuristic 90s. However, its one of those shows where one has to be really aware of the details in order to connect some dots. Its really great and worth watching imo!

The septum piercing definitely suits you, you’re gorgeous so you can really pull of whatever, but if you feel like it’s too much you should definitely go for more subtle jewelry once it heals.

I really recommend Cable Girls on Netflix, it's happening in 20s in Madrid and it's about 4 women basically getting through life and their friendship ( (altho it gets really dramatic too). It's honestly one of the best tv shows I've watched in a while, something a bit different and empowering but also aesthetically pleasing

Sorry to hear about your aunt too, all the best to your family 💕 Also, I love the septum piercing but I'm not sold on the hair - I haven't really liked this length on anyone and so many people jumped on the trend, so I'm glad you're thinking of growing it back in! I also think the septum piercing will look less harsh with a softer hair look, so when it is longer and not so flush to your chin you might like it more.

Do finish White Teeth! It is tedious to get through, but I think it’s quite rewarding. Sometimes I think it’s easy to pinpoint it as a certain type of read (especially if you have read books that are similar in theme and tone), but when you put it into the context of when it was written and consider how it was her debut novel, it’s quite remarkable. I know some people also wear a curved barbell in their septum and sort of push the ends up into their nostrils to hide it - also an option if you only want it for certain looks or something

I have both piercings as well and I usually don't wear rings in both. When I have the septum ring in I put a stud in my nostril, on a day to day basis I just have my ring in my nostril though
