Sooooo, one of our favs, Kanab. Been down that dirt road to movie set. Some of Planet of Apes shot there. Many movies made there. Motel in ~center of town where many stars stayed. Got to be their "place". Rooms are named after ones who had favs there. We have ridden lots of the back roads finding gems that make us happy. Thanks for the memories.

Highway 89 is one of the most amazing highways in N. America, from its original start on the Mexico border up to Glacier National Park in the North, it goes through or close by the best of the best.

I'm a french guy, and I was on this road in March , bound to Page , just before covid crisis hit all US . Wonderful country , awesome UTHA state . US 89 with Lone Rock in the background is my actual computer's screensaver 👍 . I wish I will be able to come back there on a near future .

Kanab and the Vermillion Cliffs. I was coming back the other way towards Glen Canyon from Bryce Canyon way back in 1993. These wonderful videos liven up my memories. It's much appreciated Russ. I stayed at a nice little motel in Kanab and did the washing of my underwear. They weren't dry enough in the morning so I stuck them in the widows ect and drove off down the road east towards Glen Canyon. I even had a couple of undies fastened to the radio arial. It was a hot day and they dried out nicely. Memories.

Thank you for posting this. The whole area is just so beautiful. Many of the John Ford/John Wayne/Ward Bond westerns were filmed in & around this area. Monument Valley area

Your 2nd drone stop was across the road from the Paria Canyon Station, the canyon is a long hike down to Lee's Ferry which at one time was the "almost" only way across the Colorado (Grand) River for hundreds of miles each direction. That area has some of the most beautiful and unusual sandstone "formations" in the entire world and are very limited in the number of visitors allowed.

My home of 30 years, that large rock outcropping is a place where many ashes were released and many tears shed! Now i'm f/t rver hanging out at St.Johns RV resort close to Lyman Lake and Petrified Forest. I used to work cattle in Big water. Many happy memories!!!

Great video Russ, we have done much of this same route several times and want to do it many times again. It never gets old and new discoveries are around each corner even when the road is straight. Kanab is a fantastic place with great grub and scenery as well as the perfect base camp for many adventures. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. We appreciate it more than you could know !

Awesome! I'm following your videos every chance I get! I'm also looking on my map where you are at too. Makes me miss traveling during the summer! Next summer, the family and I will do a road trip like that. Always wanted to go out to southern Utah - northern Arizona area. I’m surprised you didn’t stop at the Little Hollywood Museum in Kanab. They are open. Absolutely loved the drone pictures they are so awesome and you do such a great job of controlling the drone.

I loved the video. I was wondering what movies were filmed in Paria Utah. Paria Movie Set to Buckskin Gulch. Overview: This hike begins at the Paria Movie Set, where five plank buildings have provided the backdrop for films such as The Outlaw Josie Wales, as well as episodes of the 1960s TV show Gunsmoke.

Russ, I'm enjoying your travel videos. You should market them as bike journey videos also. Just put a stationary bike in front of a big screen, slow down the RVer TV video speed to bike speed, put on some headphones, travel music and put a fan in front of you for wind in your face and pedal away. It works real good on your long stretch of highway vids. It's almost like I'm bikin' down the highway. Thanks for the exercise Russ!

After we did R2R Grand Canyon We took a easy day and visited Kanab but missed this visitor center 🤪. Instead we visited the BLM office. We want to go back with more days to hike this beautiful areas

Russ: Another outstanding video. Southern Utah has some incredible landscape and you are adding places to our bucket list...Powell, et al. Don’t know if you have this app...ALTIMETER GPS PRO. Excellent app for altitude, GPS, compass, etc. Perfect for getting accurate location, altitude, etc. I use it when we are traveling in OUR RV. Loving your VICARIOUS tour. We are set to head out from Northern Nevada in mid-August....IF our reservations hold at the RV parks we are planning on visiting. Also looking to retrace some of YOUR sites in AZ, UT, etc. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. SAFE TRAVELS.

The movie set has pretty much falling down so be glad you didn't make the long drive on that road. one time I was in that yuck McDonald's and it started to rain and that road filled up with water faster than I've ever seen before. 2-3 inch's in like 5 mins. Get a chocolate pie from the pines restaurant it's right before the turn into Bryce Canyon. You will thank me later!

It's near four corners in monument valley. Pretty much the eastern side bottom. He is more in the middle. Maybe he will come back that way. Maybe not the covid19 is really bad in that area with the Navajo Nation.
