IMO NO ONE needs a "permission slip" from any government to exercise a right. Any adult U.S. citizen should be able to carry anywhere without a permit, period.

@@garyleibitzke4166 I’ve been saying that for a long time. Unfortunately, the groups “fighting” for our rights all refuse to go after the big infringements because they claim they’re too hard to win. How they know that without even trying is a mystery. I don’t know about others, but I know for a fact that I don’t have decades to wait for all of the tiny “wins” to add up to something that somewhat resembles what the Founders had in mind.

My Utah out of state permit renewal was $25 plus a simple form and an iPhone self-portrait, all conveniently sent by .pdf within 15 minutes. If I can get past the indignity of having to register for no good reason other than to put me in the pool of possible shooters in the area, registration shouldn't be any more difficult than Utah makes it.

yeah tell that to the judge when he send you to prison.. first of all the judge should have said that a person who obtained a permit to carry in his ho.e state that's good enough, the 1st amendment doesn't have different conditions is other states it's the same in all 50.. only the 2 amendment has conditions in different states that Is NOT the way it works. .

My understanding is that if you are a citizen of the United States (corporation), you are not protected by the Constitution. See my main comment for more info on that and how you can change your legal status.

Our side should have held out for the following: If a non-resident of California, or a California resident, holds a valid concealed carry permit from ANY state, that concealed carry permit shall be valid in California. PERIOD! Otherwise, CA is in violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution and is also in violation of the Full Faith and Credit Clause.

Agree but we shouldn't need a permit at all from any state for our right. It is also our RIGHT to travel which should also not need a permit as per driver licenses or plates where it also takes away our right to own property that we use to travel with. The driver licenses laws were written for commercial drivers.

There is NO MENTION in the Constitution stating that a gun owner in this country has to have a permit in order to carry a gun. It is our right to do so. PERIOD.

Not a win at all, total BS. No normal person from another state is going to jump through all the ridiculous rules. Total and complete infringement. My initial CCW in CA cost over $400 and non-residents pay more, for everything.

It’s not perfect by any means but CRPA fought hard to get us at least an option for carry. All permits are an infringement but we’re winning by moving gun control backwards. 👍🏻

@@CopperJacketTV Did I mention it took 8 months as well. I agree, a step forward but not a viable, usable option for out of state folks so symbolic at best. We need real wins, full reciprocity nationwide to make a difference. SCOTUS is not instilling confidence by sending the right message yet, on anything. They need to crush the anti 2A movement, and they could with any one of the cases they have coming to them. Sorry, just disgusted by it all.

This proposal is designed in a way that could very easily get an out-of-state person in trouble. They have to basically swear to the fact that they will be spending significant time in the jurisdiction where they apply for the permit. What if it’s a tourist who will be spending a couple of days in a rural county (easier/cheaper) and a much longer time in urban counties (harder/more expensive) during their travels. If they say they’re spending time in the rural county in order to get their permit, what’s to say that some anti-2A DA won’t try to get them for lying in order to get a permit? This is, IMO, yet another “win” that really isn’t a win.

I can see the state saying that no off roster guns can be put on this type of a permit. And I bet full capacity mags will be a no-no too. Having said that, It's still a win, and possibly a small avenue to other things. CRPA and the others, thank you!

Being a resident of California I'm pretty sure that they will make it as hard as possible for non-residents to get a carry permit here and they will probably want you to re-new it every 2 weeks

CA only allows 3 guns per permit which have to be live fired in a instructor setting. Sensitive locations are where the criminal has a gun, and I don't.

To make this compromise worthwhile of being called a big win it needs, in my opinion, two things: A) That any mandated training required by California is provided at California's expense AND MUST BE provided on the nonresident's preferred date(s) and time(s). B) California SHALL IMMEDIATELY process the request for the permit AND SHALL ISSUE the permit to the applicant no more than seven business days following the submission of the application.

Carrying in California was not needed years ago. I never carried a firearm 15 years ago even though I had a ccw. Different story today though, things have changed for the worse. now it’s a necessity to have a way to defend yourself. violent crime has increased along with robberies and petty theft.

One issue I see is that you have to list the firearm that you'll be bring into .ca. at that time you will be on a list listing at lease 1 firearm you have, and that will also stored with dc feds. So if the gov ever get their way to do a gun grab, guess where they will go. No thanks I won't help them out

Since California decides to not reconize the constitution they tjere should forefit ALL federal monies. They should NOT recieve a single dollar or ounce of help. They forefit thos by not recognizing being part of the union and the binding contract such as the Constitution
