Charging the batteries up to 100% should have 300 amp hours of capacity showing. They were purchased at the same time and were delivered with 85% charge on two of them and 6% charge on the third one. They now show 222, 225, 269 amp hours of capacity this is not 300 amp hours. It turns out that BigBattery.ca didn't prep them properly before shipping. They should only be charged to 30% for safe shipping but down at 6%. BigBattery.com is the actual company and RC from there says that BigBattery.ca aka SolarkKitDepot.ca are third party retailers of this product.

Mine did the same thing. BB said they put the wrong software on the bms. Battery Evo said they never had that capability to load software onto bms’s. These are actuallly Battery Evo to their built cores. BB is really a reseller imo. Time will tell… Great review. Running in parallel, conservatively in my opinion,mine are doing well after 2 years. I’ve never done a complete measured drain of the voltage to test actual Ah capacity. But I do run an ac unit all night in the desert. Agreed that for the money, I would move to another company for storage.

The 48V100 SOK is what I’ll be trying next once I get Big Battery fiasco settled. Highly recommend these over BB. Better cost plus communication capable so you get SOC control feature. Beware of Solarkitdepot website as it is selling BigBattery brand plus other brands including SOK, they are owned by the same umbrella company so you’ll end up with the same poor service and quality.

And be careful the 300a fuse catchers on fire if you chard with 120a I was lucky to be near the battery when this happens. The plastic fuse holder caught on fire and I immediately unplugged the batteries and removed the metal back plate for the fuse and used a fire extinguisher.

This is scary to hear, glad to hear you were able to extinguish it! Just a tip, I'm not sponsored in anyway. A trophy battery has not only CANbus & RS485 communication, but also a heat mat for cold climates, pre-charge resistor, larger lugs than other server rack batteries and True DC rated circuit breakers. Oh and the cells are EV rated cells with derrated Ah readings (ex. 100Ah battery has 105Ah cells). Best of all non-prorated warranties!!! I love my 300Ah version, best decision I've made thus far in my system! UL listing for 100Ah is coming soon, so those I'm buying and racking for my grid tired system. All my best to you gentlemen 🙏.

Well this happens a lot with new batteries. The fastest way to resolve this is to get the bms software and reset the capacity. I can assure you it has the right number of cells but the bms is just reporting it wrong. They should really get in touch and help u reset it. It happened to me once with another company

Have you had an issues with your 300A fuse nut being loose? One of my batteries shutdown as it was arcing in the fuse instead of blowing because they didn’t torque the nut correctly. I changed all my fuses to Victrons and torqued the nut properly.

Yes a lot of solar DIY’s use the victron smart shunt to have more control of there batteries. I haven't looked into the Eagle, does it have a BMS? They may be working fine but I wonder if you are getting the actual full use of there capacity. I would recommend fitting in a monitor if you haven’t yet.

My first delivery was a disaster. The batteries were not properly secured to the skids with blocking. These batteries are 600lbs each and they shifted on the skid breaking the casters off the bottom by falling between the slats and scraping the heck out of the casing. They never fell but I refused to accept the order took a gob of video and pictures. It then took about 6-7 months to have them replaced. I’m now wishing I forced a return off them at that time. I was excited for the potential of them. At this time I’ll optimize the system to see how well I can get them to perform. The next delivery went seamlessly.

@NewLightEnergy
@NewLightEnergy Год назад
I am actively testing these everyday. I really wish they gave what they claim. As of now I have 715ah available not 900ah. That’s 80%. I was setting up my system to be able to run these at 60%/27kwh over night of use each day to extend the life of them even more. With this reduction I don’t have a lot of emergency storage. I am concerned if they will even last 10years if I run close to all capacity each night. I’m looking at SOK instead if BigBattery will return them. SKU: SK48V100 SOK 48V 100Ah Server Rack LiFePO4 Battery $1,989.99Price 9 of these and you have 900ah, they can communicate direct so you have SOC capabilities. This will give a much more balanced control of the battery. I paid about $30k CAD. 9 SOK would be $22.5K. Better price, easier to move and they can communicate. More wiring to do to join together but that’s quite simple. Also CSA CuL listed. Big battery claimed that theirs would be fine to pass inspection but they aren’t CuL. In Alberta our inspection guy are stiff about CuL. I found this out after purchase.

The other seemed fine, went to bed at 10:30 with 70% battery life estimated at 16 hours under the load of approx 7 amps. We’ll pump and heater off. Woke to chirping at 0230 with a battery at 7% battery life remaining. The engineer was supposed to contact me yesterday. No call. Not impressed.

And my response thus far. New Light Energy New Light Energy 12 hours ago @BigBattery Oh there is no confusion about the display. It should show 300 Ah when fully charged at 100%. I didn’t invest over $31,000.00 CAD to immediately lose 185 AH after a few charges. On another post you recommend not to drain them down below 20%. When i recieve my 3 Kongs one was at 86%, another at 36% and the third was at 6%. I communicated via your email and was told I could invest another $500 to buy a battery charger. I was still building my solar array so couldn’t charge them. I assumed they would be sent with sufficient charge to not harm them. As your company has stated to run them between 20-100% is to optimize the life of these batteries. Communicating with Shayan at your chat line has not provided much help. I was very excited to have these as they seemed like a good investment but am finding it difficult to promote them to others.
@Hondacber
@Hondacber Год назад
You need to connect them in PARALEL and let each battery's voltage equalize and balance out for 24 hours then charge them all the way up to 100%. You should be able to calibrate the meters on each battery. I believe there is a ACTIVE BALANCE button on the back of the battery once fully charged turn this ON on each battery and let all the cells in each battery balance. You should only have to do this once a year or less but the first cycle you do at home is necessary. Once that's done cycle them all the way down till the BMS'es shut the batteries off. At that time look at the displays and see how many AMP HOURS you have used. They should read no less than 98% of their advertised capacity. PLEASE NOTE DO NOT run these down like this all of the time. If there 48 VOLT do not let the voltage drop below 51.2 VOLT. At this state each one of your cells will be at 3.2 VOLT per cell. In an emergency if you need extra power you can run them till the BMS shuts them off, but I don't recommend that but in an emergency, we have to do what we have to do then. I have Big Battery's 24 VOLT HAWK MAX units and I have had good luck so far. I have 3 of them each battery is 24 VOLT 202 AMP HOUR and I'm running mine in parallel for a 24 VOLT 606 AMP HOUR. I'm getting 584 AMP HOURS out of mine so that's a little below what they're supposed to do but I figured that would happen anyway as everyone over rates their product. I'm missing 22 AMP HOUR but the batteries are performing solid. Any questions message me.

Hey Roger thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I don't have the active balance button on the back like the condor elite three has. Yes, I do not plan on running them down all the way as I know that can really shorten the life of the battery. RC from BigBattery.com found my information and contacted me which was rather impressive. I also downloaded the XiaoXiang app as they make the BMS installed in these batteries. It has given me the ability to update the amp hours that displayed on the BMS and many other control features. Warning though it also gives the ability to potentially damage the batteries if you adjust things improperly.
