@@user-ht1xu4gv2u In 2005, I was at Ft. Dix, N.J., doing training for deployment for O.I.F. While we were there, we had to travel out to the Gov't training area, (Pine Barrens) to do weapons qual, land nav, etc. During this time, we also had to spend 23 days out in a "FOB" that was set up to do "realistic" training. We slept in GP Medium tents and played "ARMY". After we left the FOB and came back on Post, a few of us ventured out to the local American Legion post. While I was there, the locals asked us what we were doing, etc. Somehow we struck up a conversation about the Pine Barrens where we had been training. They asked if we had seen the creature out there. Being from N.C., I had never heard anything about the Pine Barrens, much less any mysterious creatures out there. I can't recall what they called these things, but listening to them describe what some folks that lived adjacent to the Gov't land had experienced it regularly.

I will add this to your story. One night at that exact campsite that you are pointing at, I was solo camping and was the only one there to my knowledge and at about 11:00pm I heard grunts and breathing come from the treeline. I sat in the tent as quiet as a mouse and waited and in a few minutes, the largest white tailed deer buck that I have ever seen came into the camp. He had more points than I could count. He stood there for a few seconds and smelled me and then bolted to the north side of the camp. He was a monster buck. Also at that same site, I've had turkey and coyotes come up to the tent. On the left side of that campground on the little loop road that has a few primitive spots before you get to the loop where the port-a-potties are I had a bobcat try to come into camp one night. One thing is for sure, there are allot of woods around that area. What I got pretty good at was telling what sort of animal it was just by the sounds of the foot-fall that it made. You can tell if its a four legged animal versus a human or something on two legs. In addition, most woodland creatures use caution when approaching a site and that tells you allot what it is. I only had one negative experience there at that site and that was a man tried to come into my site during the night and I knew right away when I heard him that he was a person. I told him I had a gun (which I didn't) and for him to back off. He claimed that he was lost but I believe he was looking to steal from picnic table. Either way, he moved on.

If you park to the left of the entrance into the "loop" at West Morris mountain camp ground (there is a cleared area to park), there is a trail entrance up Morris mountain there. It goes uphill a good ways then levels out a bit and goes left or right. If you go right and walk that trail, there is gold in a creek that crosses the trail. The area is also dotted with old mines and if you see large outcroppings of white quartz, they are worth looking at as sometimes they contain quartz crystals. I've been on this trail and camped at that campground many times although it has been a while since I am older now and have experienced health issues but at one time I was walking some trail in the Uwharries almost every week. There isn't an area of the Uwharries that I haven't walked from its southern borders near Peking and Candor out towards Lovin Hill to its northern borders in neighboring Randolph County. I've never seen a Bigfoot there but its certainly a fantastic place to explore for rock hounds, recreational hikes, fishing, camping, horse back riding, 4-wheeling and now Bigfoot! I've heard of bear in that area, never seen one but know folks who have. We were off Tower Road late one evening walking an old logging road and came across cat tracks that were bigger than my hand. It had been drinking water from a pothole in the road. My buddy who is a local to the area said that people had seen a large black cat in that area and that there had been reports of attacks on farm animals and pets. Based on the size of that paw print and the depth it was in the red clay, it had to be a very large cat and I am more afraid of that than Bigfoot.
@coniac420
@coniac420 Месяц назад
Ah yes the infamous large black cat, we supposedly have that in CT as well, I think every state has a big black cat roaming around. I'm absolutely interested in finding some gold , idk if it's just the better technology available to see them at night or in my opinion their population is exploding, but I think you're more likely to see evidence or an actual bigfoot now in places that 40 years ago , you would never see one. No way would these things elude our attention all this time until just now in the past decade or so.Back when Patterson took the video I think they were more isolated and in fewer numbers. And I know we aren't blazing trails or occupying remote areas like mankind used to, we are dependent on grocery stores and stick to paved roads and designated camping areas, all the land in federally protected or privately owned now. We should see less bigfoot in less areas but it is the opposite now isn't it?

This looks like West Morris Mountain Campground, if you turn off Hwy. 109 north at Uwharrie onto Ophir road its only a few miles on the right. There is a sign out at the road. I've heard wood knocks there but that's it. Had a better experience once at a primitive campsite off of River Road. Heard footsteps during the night approach my tent that I think came to see what I had been cooking on the fire. I threw some of it out into the trees and in the morning it was gone. The foot fall was heavy and sounded like two feet. However I had my best experience in neighboring Richmond County to the south of the Uwharries along Mountain Creek and large creek or small river that flows into the Pee Dee River. This is off Grassy Island Road south of Hwy 73 west of the town of Ellerbe. I was there with a friend fishing and we walked up the east side path across from the boat landing late one evening. We went far up this path and found a clear enough spot to cast a line. There we found 18" tracks a set going into the water and the water was still muddy so whatever made them had just been there. The tracks were human like but had only three toes each. There was a left and a right footprint and the stride between them was approx. 5'-0". We followed the tracks about 300 yards until whatever it was went through some really thick brush that we couldn't go through and it was almost dark by this time. Suddenly the thing let out a howl/growl/hoop that was nothing like I'd ever heard and it was just inside the brush. The smell there was also sickening. Needless to say that we turned tail and ran as fast as we could. We heard it howl several times upon our departure. I went back to the boat landing several years ago one fall night and sat on the dock. I was the only one there and I can tell you it is a desolate place. Grassy Island road is as remote as it comes in this part of the state and there are vast areas of woods that have no homes for miles. While there I heard three distinct wood knock in the distance. I found a branch and hit a tree to see if I could get a response. I did, three more knocks. I repeated this several times and got no further response. So in my experiences, this area is pretty good. However, I do feel that these creatures are migratory and do not live for long in this part of the state. There are allot of hunters in this area and even thought the Uwharries are fairly dense as well as upper Richmond County, these areas combined are surrounded by a pretty dense population of people, towns, roads. If there is a living permanent population of these things in NC, they are most likely in western NC deep in the hollows of the Blue Ridge Mountains where there are millions of acres some of which haven't seen human foot traffic in years if ever. I believe that there have been creatures in the Uwharries and still are from time o time but they are constantly on the move and passing through to other places.

So you had thermal night time scopes and parabolic audio equipment to hear the slightest sound but you weren't able to snap a picture of this thing? Did you have a camera capable of taken infrared images? I've never gone out looking for these things but have had experiences that I couldn't record or film but honestly, if I was trying to document them and went armed with equipment I would sure try to get a picture or some audio of it. That fellow who a while back took a thermal film of what he believes was a Bigfoot at what might have been that same campground got the BFRO group to get Matt Moneymaker and the Finding Bigfoot crew to do a show there. Me and my buddy went to that town hall meeting in Troy and at the get together that they had at the Eldorado Outpost. We meet BoBo he was pretty cool.

@kateharris1210
@kateharris1210 Месяц назад
Wow. Just because it's what you would do, doesn't mean it's what somebody else would do. We're all different, and our brains are all wired differently and that's what makes us human. Don't assume that someone else thinks exactly the same as you do, and would do exactly the same as you do. There's no textbook way to react when you have a sighting. All I remember about my first sighting was that it was warm weather and sunny, and all I remember about my second sighting is that it was nighttime and cold outside. No idea what the date was. And also, some sightings are more traumatizing than others, and the big ones are the ones that you're going to tend to remember most. The others, not so much. I don't understand why people have to jump on other witnesses for every little thing and criticize and pick each other apart. This subject just makes people so mean and critical. I think we all know what it's like to be doubted and second-guessed and ridiculed by the outside world, so you'd think we would stick together and have each other's backs, but no, not in this subject. Witnesses are more critical of other witnesses than anyone on the outside is, and it makes no sense.
