I'd love to meet Jeff and see if he would allow me to come and camp the area for a few days. I live about 45 minutes from the Uwharries and use to work as a construction worker in Montgomery county so I am very familiar with the Uwharries and know a few folks up that way. I've done a lot of prospecting in the Uwharries mainly for minerals like quartz and the minerals sometimes associated with quartz deposits. Done a little gold panning in my time as well. Use to do a fair bit of hiking and camping but getting older that has slowed down considerably. Had a couple of weird experiences in the woods there but never saw anything, more of what I heard than saw. Few tree knocks and a few hoops and howls and one time some heavy walking outside my tent. Enough to excite my interest that it might have been something other than deer, coyotes, etc. Found a footprint of a huge cat on a logging road late one evening bigger than my hand. The cat that made that track had to be large. I wouldn't want to tangle with a cat that size. My gut tells me that if Bigfoot is in the Uwharries he is passing through on his way elsewhere because despite being a relatively large area, the Uwharries are intermixed with allot of private land and hunting is a big thing there. Around the perimeter of the Uwharries are some pretty good sized towns and population as well. My personal belief is that the creature travels along the PeeDee and Yadkin Rivers which would take it northwest towards Wilkes county in the western NC mountains eventually where there is much more undeveloped forested and mountainous area for it to seek shelter. Like most large animals it is probably migratory and may have several areas that it visits one of them the Uwharries. The Uwharries along with the river bottom lands south into Richmond County are most likely the last areas that this creature would be able to find hardwood forest areas large enough to sustain its feeding and shelter needs. Upon crossing into upstate SC it would encounter mostly sandy pine forest and swamps which I guess it could survive in but it would more likely encounter people the further south it goes and less habitat. Once it crossed over I-85 in western NC it would be pretty much out of the most populated Piedmont counties in NC and headed towards mountainous rural areas in western NC that have literally thousands and thousands of forest to hide, much of it federally protected. There are a fair number of reports from Davie, Davidson and Iredell Counties in NC as well as Montgomery further south which would seem to indicate that there is a migration route through there and that is likely the PeeDee and Yadkin rivers. Along these rivers would be obvious water as well as plant and animal life to feed on and shelter from more populated areas. I have a friend who lives along River road in Montgomery county which lies within the Uwharrie forest and he claims to have heard and seen these creatures in the area. Most of my personal experiences have been only a few miles from the river as well. Anyway, if Jeff has activity on his land, I hope that he can get some good infrared night vision cameras put out. How awesome would it be to get some evidence! Good luck to you Jeff.

I've hunted the Uwharrie gamelands for over fifty years Camping and fishing at Narrows dam and I've never seen anything out of the ordinary. Those woods are crawling with hunters in deer season and nobody has ever shot one. I'll have to call bullshit on this one.

@@stormking57thats such a bad way to look at reality. thats like my brother in law who hunts an fishes everyday of the week saying that black pqnthers dont exist simply bc he never saw one or a hunter never shot one. well, theyre here... my neighbor often sees it walkin out by the bank of his pond
