Excellent video. I always enjoy AA vs Aircraft episodes, especially seeing Modern AAs Flex their muscles. May I reccomend a few ones? Unguided Helicopters vs WW2 AA (+ unguided post-war AA if the patrons want it). I would like to see how rank 1 AA would perform against starter Helis, rank 1+2 vs 9.3 BR Helis, and all WW2 AA vs top tier Helis. I am aware that some early Helis only have ATGMs and maybe rifle Cal MGs so ATGMs could be used within 1KM of the map edge. I would also like to see players relying only on tanks with roof MGs.
Using some math and a lot of assumptions. It seems the lancanster would have to fly about 600m or ~2000ft from the detonation of the 12000lber for there to be a high risk of destroying the aircraft. Of course even if you're above this limit, it still wouldn't be pleasant to be in the aircraft when the shockwave hit and any imperfections in construction may result in destruction. At 3300m or ~10800ft there would still be violent shaking as described by that ww2 pilot.
I'd of chosen the SPAA team. I'm very proficient with early game SPAA (up to about 6.0 BR), and it is quite evident to me that many of the players that ran SPAA in the first round were not. I would have probably gone with either the Russian Yag-10, or the British or French vehicles with 40mm Bofors. I think the biggest mistake I saw people make in that round was using self destroying rounds, as they (at least the German ones) mostly detonate at around 1600 meters, which is way too low for most of the bombers there.
Hmmmmm how about trying the biggest bombs against the Navy? (Totally not asking to see Scharnhorst given the Tirpitz treatment of getting a 12k Bomb to the deck*
You'd be a great narrator for military type shows like they've had on the History Channel and the like. Like Justin, you have a wonderful speaking voice! Love these vids, you gotta do the battle of Kursk! If you already haven't.
Bombers destroying themselves were a very real concern. Here in Canada, we had a local Lancaster pilot WW2 veteran who got awarded medals because he flew so low his plane was at risk of being destroyed by his own bombs.
Bruh, I feel like the algorithm just kicked you out of search man. These videos use to get so many views!!! Did like a couple of the ‘weirder’ ones have people click off? Like some of the boat ones? Big sad man, love the videos. My favorite is the T-72 versus German Heavies! That was cool asf!
Yeah some do better then others. Watch hours, like and vid Watch duration is all doing great though. Desert storm and Abrams vs Maus almost 100k which is nice
Basically all time periods of SPAA that don’t use SAM missiles is going to struggle because bombers can stay at a height that most SPAA machine guns or some cannons can’t reach
About the airbursted bomb not damaging plane or ground targets.. your not missing anything, it SHOULD do that but the game is just big dumb and airbursted bombs do almost nothing
And just proves that AA in this game is a joke. Even on the last round once SAMs were removed the guns while getting kills most weren't doing enough damage to stop kamikazes. It also shows how broken and bs these long range bombers are due to how broken overpressure and bomb modeling is. Shockwave and fragments just straight up ignoring terrain and buildings.
Yeah it's a lot of fun being helpless against a plane with a bomb that can wipe the team with little effort and spawns so high that any spaa wont be able to shoot it down
Good day, Hm observations of the last round but if the Yakovlev Yak-28B Brewer had flown to 15000 metres there would've been a chance it would never had gotten shot down while yeeting it's FAB-3000 everywhere, Similar the The Republic F-105 Thunderchief might have had some success fooling the SPAAG/SAM's if they took chaff with them. A thing to note on the Blockbuster bomb is while the name holds true that it could completely destroy a block depending on the construction of said area, The real damaging part was the shockwave it caused resulting in heavily cracked infrastructure along with broken windows and destroyed roofs all of this goes in hand with incendiary weapons as example the fire bombing of Dresden with all the damage caused by the Blockbusters the incendiary bomblets would fall in place of the damage and burn the town houses from within... Sidenote since the update the Avro Cookiecaster losted it's ability to carry 2× cookies RIP, hopefully they're readded and or made into a ×3 bombload.
Why is it that your sentences have the first second or so cut? ex: 7:13 “-omers coming in” It also happens at the beginning of some of your videos. I like your content but is just really distracting, can you fix it in later videos?
@@drjames5 thanks for letting me know. I’ll have to pay attention to it next time. I did notice it once when making this vid and fixed it before releasing it but thought it was just the one time my mic was acting up. If it keeps happening I may need to buy a new mic or something
The 12000 pound bomb is known as the "Tall Boy" or Medium Capacity Earthquake Bomb was used to destroy the La Coupole V-weapon site in Wizernes, France, 1944
@@ssgtstroh2742 uhhhh incorrect, the blockbuster bomb was a 4000-8000 pound bomb, yes the added an additional 4000 punds to it to make it the 12000 pound but that when it was named the earthquake bomb or "Tall Boy"
@@TripleRRRock But they're right the 12000lb HC Blockbuster & the 12000lb Tallboy are two completely different weapons, Just boot up a picture online and compare their shape as the Blockbuster is three 4000lb bombs bolted together while the Tallboy is a single piece bomb in a streamline shape for better ground penatration.
Modern air threats can fly on high altitude to avoid spaa. Strike drones can fly 5000-7000meters high while bombers typicaly fly 12000-15000meters high. Short range missiles cannot cover such high altitudes and modern sensors-guided bombs make sure you can strike from such altitude. The problem for the bombers is that they are very exposed to long range SAMs like the s300, s400 and Patriot. SPAA is still useful for self defense-point defense of high value targets. SPAA can also be used against helicopters, gliding munitions and cruise missiles which typicaly fly low to avoid long range SAMs. Without the good old SPAAs the long range SAMs are completely exposed.
man with that music, seeing that B-36 and the B-25 coming in hot getting there bombs off just before they get set ablaze and crash just hit different for some reason
So weird how even a bomber flops head over heals when it loses part of a wing. What on earth is wrong with there physics coding? Its not realistic at all...
Its gonna be awhile till i unlock that bomb much less even get the plane now that i literally have to restart everything all over again. Yes if your wondering i lost my account so I had to restart
When I was playing the British firefly tank on that map where literally everything is destroyed (it has a park in the middle) I forgot the name, anyway i saw a pe8 coming my way and I took cover next to a dead prespawned tank and the bomb landed about 100ft from me, the other 2 firefly tanks dead and somehow I survived a 5000kg bomb at close ish range..
Fighter bombers would have flown ahead and returned to the group for cover, faster and different bombing arcs made it hectic to try and shoot down Americans
The fight in the evening looks cool, but we should never forgot "war is always the same" like a very good game says and sadly I dont think this will in the next 500 years change or sadly be much longer. Once I was in the the german army and shoot at night with tracer ammo with my G3, and when you see how much drill and another way the bullet take after punch trhough a target and flew over the forest. I will not think when you shoot at day with normal ammo and hit maybe a dumb person thats wandering there and get hit.
