Here are the 8 biggest buffs in BTD6 History. There have been many underpowered or "clunky" towers/upgrades in this game, but Ninja kiwi has done a great job smoothing them out and making more towers viable. Whether it be their price, pierce, damage, attack speed, or a rework, there is always a way to make monkeys better.

one of my favorite changes was the "cold snap" upgrade for the ice monkey, a tier 2 upgrade that gives camo and lead popping ability, made farming gold bloons so much easier

Another huge buff imo is the crits added to middle path Super Monkey. They hugely increased its popping shower and a 2-3-0 shreds the 60s.

One of my favorite buffs was when full auto sniper could pop lead on it own for like a single update and then ninja kiwi smacked it over the head and said “your free trial of lead popping has expired”

@@TheDream64 Nono like, you soulbind a LOTN and you get thousands of lives to tank multiple fortified BADs with, then you can rebuy the LOTN and do it again. Something like that.

If i remember correctly, the biggest buff to bottom path bomb was making the clusters be able to affect the same bloon twice, as before that it was bassically just a blast radius and pierce upgrade at both 3rd and 4th, but after that it started doing the massive amount of damage its known for today.

I feel like the addition of the missiles to comanche commander/comanche defense was pretty big since it gives the path lead popping power and is overall a good increase to its dps. I know it's not as busted as it used to be with alch but it's certainly a huge buff compared to its previous nerfed state.

Not sure if it'd make the list, but the middle path super monkey got pretty big buffs. Pierce for range upgrades, extra ability range and damage, but mostly the crit shots.

I feel like t4 Embritlement ice monkey deserves to be mentioned. Ever since they let it debuff moabs I've seen people geniunly use it on even some of the hardest maps like quad in combination with overdrive spam because it nearly triples their dps. Also 1:30 . Are spactories not meta? I don't think there's a single true expert map where midgame doesn't a piece of cake when u slap down 2 spiked balls and alch buff them. As for middle path it's always used when the map either doesn't have water, or you don't have enough money for first strike on r100.

For Dark Castle you go for Permaspike instead usually, Flooded Valley's really hard to use any Spike Factories on, same with Infernal. Also Ravine, Muddy Puddles, and Bloody Puddles for instance. I have seen 4 Spike Balls used on Quad and Ouch too though

For sniper you could've mentioned the buff the Elite Defender's MOAB damage, which increases the more you upgrade him along with it still increasing from the top path on top of it already getting the Elite Defender high single target damage, or the fact that the damage increase applies to individual shrapnel pieces

As for the carpet of spikes, I feel like a general DPS increase is still necessary (it's a 50k tower with no support or utility aspect and it's damage is not great) and also I feel like getting smart spikes should turn spike storm into an attack similar to the storm of arrows attack from Quincy.

NK should add something to the Wizard that lets you target the WoF. It could just be added like Obyn's Tree targeting, or need a crosspath upgrade like the Engineer. I think if NK went for the Engi approach, the wizard would need Guiding Magic, as its like you're guiding the wizard to put the WoF at any given area inside the Wizard's range, instead of putting the WoF on the track closest to the Wizard. Maybe something like this could be for Acid Pool for Alch, but I won't elaborate, this comment is long enough.

it kinda has that already, with the guided magic cross path, it’ll place the wof wherever you set it’s attack to, so either the first balloon in its radius, the farthest, or strongest

PoD summoning Bloons "in a smart way" is not always good, since he will just waste them on rounds like 87 (only ZOMGs), dealing no damage to the arriving bloons. But buff like WoF on close outshines this.

In the pod section, you didn’t mention graveyard count staying from previous rounds instead of resetting. Was there a reason you left this out or am I misremembering?

he probably just wanted to focus on insane cleanup and damage potential of the zombie bloons themselves compared to pre buff zombies, and at the end of the segment he specifically highlights the power of the current necro wizard compared to the 1.0 soulbind wizard most towers on this list stayed the same and got plenty of attack speed, price, pierce, and damage buffs, but bottom path wizard received a complete mechanical rework and then additional buffs that make it leagues above and beyond its 1.0 version

Correction: The Meteor Does 700 damage. Path 2 adds +1 pierce to meteor (which largely doesnt matter as Primary Village and buffs do this bit better especially the Expertise. Path 3 increases the meteor damage to 1000. For Glue Strike/Storm you didn’t mentioned that similar to Embrittlement it temporarily removes lead property.

Funny thing is, PoD didn’t even exist day 1, it was an absolutely useless activated ability that got replaced with a very low tier attack instead for the longest time lol.

I started about 2 weeks or so before Geraldo was released, so some of those old videos made no sense, then I found out Tack Zone couldnt pop Leads and 024 Sniper couldnt pop leads anymore. To me PoD has always been a God tier Tower so ita hard to fathom it being weak.

POD is a staple nowadays for a lot of my CHIMPS runs, it's cc is just ridiculous and the upgrades before tier 5 are super useful in early/mid game. The only things I then have to worry about are high damage for the BAD and some support towers.

The only nerf that really affected my gameplay style was the bottom path nerf on the sniper, with the removal of his lead popping power at tier 4, he was no longer able to solo most deflations and be an easy early game tower, although i guess that balanced things? Cause otherwise i rarely used to play anything else as a main damage source

No botton path sniper is very good up to 63+ if is not with alc buff and anthoer snipers and can still solo deflection with alc buff 0-2-4 sniper and alc buff 4-2-0 and is remain some money.

The biggest buff in btd history across ALL GAMES! Is easily the Glue gunner in Bloons TD Battles 1 where it went from otherly useless of a tower to one of the most broken towers in the game in a single update. In 6.6 glue gained the ability to affect and slow moabs by 50%!!! They were supposed to nerf it in 6.7 but because they never test their games before releasing glue was slowing moabs by 67% instead of 33% so it can't even be considered a bug. (was fixed in 2 weeks for 6.7.1)

The biggest buff ever was the complete changing of the bottom path wizard. Anybody else remember Soul bind? Changing it to P.O.D and letting it summon moabs was the best change ever.

I agree about the carpet of spikes still not being worth it. It's a 60k tower on impoppable and it does like no DPS. For example, sky shredder is basically two thirds as cheap with similar uses: Moab damage, global range, and thinning out the Bloons, but when tested against r98 does 50 percent more damage than the carpet. When alch buffed with a 420, sky shredder pops almost all of r98 (295k pops), and the carpet only does 200k damage. There is an obvious need for a buff.

I feel like a damage increase for the carpet of spikes would be great, but specifically the bottom crosspath would be cool to have a storm of arrows type targeting. The biggest problem with the tower is the ceramics rush ahead and the tower pops those instead, while the zomgs lag behind taking basically no damage. The spikes should also deal damage midair more efficiently to fix that. At that point would I use it.

Buff to the sniper top path with middle path is probabily huge but the plobem is that botton path is better because the pierce is not enough to that sniper but is 30% or 50% solo more can solo instead up 63+ up to 74 i mean can stall but then is falls out because is have 4 pierce each sharpnel.

I wonder, rather, if one were to attempt these meme strats (at least the ones that aren't possible only because of a single buff) in an older version of the game, could you make them work? Just an insta-monkey (tier depends on the difficulty of the map: tiers 0-1 for beginner, 1-2 for intermediate, 2-3 for advanced, and 3-4 for expert) and an achievement for completing CHIMPS. Also, Geraldo is busted as of now, so if you have the monkey money, I suggest buying him when you get the chance.

Like they said, assuming CHIMPS is what you have left, you don't get any rewards for Black Bordering a map other than the acheviements associated with it and the normal CHIMPS reword of an insta (which is just the round 100 completion reward)
