Fact is Sony wanted him for venom movie not eddy brock they was allways going to make venom without going tru Peter first but changed there plan when Andrew was fired and tom become spiderman, then they did go with eddy. Uhhh I don't think that would work 100 percent correctly All we know about memory spell is that 1) it can make people forget about the event ( obviously ) 2) it destroys some evidence of what could possibly remind people of the event but does it selectively. It works like that because it is more a one-off plot device, but what exactly would it do in-universe if Peter asked Strange to make everyone forget Mysterio? 1) If Pete asked to make people forget what Mysterio said then sure, it is possible and maybe the spell would get rid of news articles too, but the video would be still available ( since we don't know how the spell works on dead ) and people could find out again. 2) So okay if spell cannot make people to forget about what Mysterio said then it is easier to make people forget about Mysterio himself. Then again if Peter would've said something like " Make everything connected to Mysterio fade away " then a) property damage is still here and if noone couldn't remember its origins then people would be more than courage to find out what happened. And since Mysterio is erased from the people's memory the only one who was present during the attack on London and had access to the drones was.. Spider-Man. So Peter just compromised himself. b) ( more of my personal guess of how the spell works, so it is more of a theory ) Well if we started then who is Mysterio? Would the memory spell make his team forget with who they worked? Or about their work? Would people forget about the Elementals too since it is a huge lie made up by Mysterio. And would the spell itself work? Peter said something like: " Make everyone forget that Spider-Man is Peter Parker " My guess that in order for spell to work it needs some evidence of what happened so it targets everything that is linked to it ( in that case it is Peter himself ). But we can't be sure of Quentin Beck is Mysterio's real name ( which explains why EDITH hadn't recognized him as a former Stark employee ) Everything about the memory spell is giving me a headache. If you want to join and prove me wrong then be my guest I'd like to hear someone else's guesses/theories. But please without any direct hate I just want to chat about a Marvel movie.

If Peter didn't act like a little doof and actually told Strange everything he wanted in the first place and not constantly interrupt him during the spell, that also would've been good.
