Today I chat to Kacie, who has left her life in the US and moved to Florence a few years ago. Since then she's gained social media fame by candidly sharing the daily culture shocks she encounters in her life in Florence.
Kacie's story takes an unexpected turn when she meets her Italian boyfriend, Dario, during her first solo trip to Italy. Since then, she decides to step out of her comfort zone and call Florence her home. Kacie has recently released a book, "You Deserve Good Gelato," offering an honest account of her experiences. Pre-order your copy now and delve into her unique perspective on love, life, and relocation.

Each week I will interview guests from all around the world on the topics of culture, connection and of course, dating. The goal is to go as deep as possible and to really understand where we all come from and how much culture influences our life.

They are talking about little shops in towns and villages. But in Italy there are also malls and supermarkets. They are open all day long, every day in the week and sell everything. I don’t know why tourists don’t go there.

If they pay more they are more emotional connected with the place . Folks think more expensive means better Exactly for US this items smell like Americans have had picture of Europe . Small shops with eco food and hand made artefacts. could be like thet ? 😂

If one does not understand that: - the smell of fried food early in the morning is nauseating and puts one in a bad mood; - cappuccino at lunch/dinner is indigestible and does not go well with salty food - it's impossible to fully appreciate a good dish of pasta and a good dish of meat if you eat them at the same time, just as you can't fully appreciate a baseball and a football match if you watch them at the same time on 2 TVs, - cheese on fish is so disgusting that not even my cat will eat it, - pineapple-pizza "it's a mistake, it's an italian tragedy!!" (Gordon Ramsey)... if someone does not understand these simple basic rules, he is not welcome to Italy because it means he's a Barbarian! 😁

Even within Italy there are cultural differences. Northern Italy like Milan is way different than the south, like in Calabria.

Can you interview someone from the west who moved to a country in africa now that would be interesting because you don't hear many stories of that happening because people from the west usually always trevel to Europe which is noting new

That was an interesting video, especially about american culture of friendliness which is generally seen by europeans (like me, being German) as superficial. Well, after that talk I got a glimpse of understanding the "friendliness" approach.

At least in the past it took 6 years to get a divorce, so I guess you better be careful not to marry ‘in undue time’ ..?
