We fished the beautiful Kankakee river in norther central Illinois for smallmouth bass, then waded up to this awesome spillway where I caught my biggest fish ever!! Thanks for watching!

I've been looking for smallmouth fishing like this with lots of numbers but haven't found it yet. Glad you did. What a nice common carp that was. It looks long too so I'd bet it was a master angler fish!

i was born and raised in Kankakee and still live there . grew up 4 blocks west of the dam . and those carp WILL hit anything if hungry enough.

What reel do you recommend for switching between salt and fresh water, I was thinking of the sick stick 2000

The sick stick isnt meant for salt water, it will corrode very quickly. Just buy a saltwater reel and use it in freshwater when you need to

I caught 2 really nice smallmouth and a bunch or rock bass in the Kankakee (my next upload, should be out in 3 days) on a weedless ned rigged EFH Siren (orange). I make/sell them on engineeringhooksets.com! ($6/pack of 9). And thanks!

Hey you think you're killing a small mouse there at the state park there's a creek that's a third of the size of that that you'll kill three and 4 lb small mouth all day I'm not going to name it on the channel there but it's only about 25 minutes south of there no north I mean my bad
