BOKA Vanguard is the biggest heavy lift vessel in the world, capable of carrying cargoes of up to 110,000t. Built to facilitate the transport of ever-larger floating oil rigs, it lifts through the flooding and emptying of movable buoyancy casings, which can be repositioned in order to accommodate loads of varying sizes.
Boka Vanguard also holds the title of largest semi submersible ship in the world also set a record by lifting a load of 90,000 ton Floating Production, Storage and Offloading platform. This is equivalent to the weight of approximately 300 Boeing 747s making this the heaviest cargo ever to be transported by a semi-submersible heavy lift vessel.
Boka Vanguard performed the world's first cruise ship lift by lifting Carnival Vista and transported it to a shipyard facility in Freeport, the Bahamas for a unique dry docking operation.
