Wow John, What a fabulous image, one of your best, probably the best ever! Super impressed with the detail in the image of the Galaxy and the Superman Barn. It won't be long before the barn collapses as it is looking very tired now, probably as tired as you were when you finished processing this masterpiece! 👍👌😁🏆
Thanks Geoff, I am pleased with it. The barn is pretty ratty and you probably right about not lasting much longer. Stoked to have had the chance to image it.
"Who else is this crazy" made me giggle 😂. Amazing pano, amazing focus and dedication to stay on task to bag all these shots over the night. Nice job 👍.
That's incredible, totally worth the effort. I just finished a "half arch" (from Sagittarius to Carina) at 50mm so u can't even imagine how much effort and planning and patience was required for this. Phenomenal image!
You are the craziest guy in the landscape astrocommunity but we need people like you to push the game further. Congrats on all the amazing things you do mate! Can’t wait to be in Aus with you next year! 🌌🚀
Absolutely bloody mental mate! Epic is not the word either, but man the end result is fanbloomintastic! And to think if you hadn't left your tripod you probably wouldn't have done it haha! Congrats John on the final image it's a mighty piece of determination and perseverance for your art.
@@johnrutterphotography We were out Tuesday night the dew was really heavy only 1C below the air temp and I learned a hard lesson...put your dew heater on regardless!
Wow , been to that location many moons ago ..Its lost the side and looking a bit rough now but its still beautiful.. Owners are great . Awesome photo ..Love Milky way shots its just a shame our season here is in the cold :(
Hello John. You are very skillfull with your gadgets! Love your work and passion. Can you talk to us a little about pc configuration for dealing with this kind of mega files?
Hey John, I’ve been watching quite a bit of your content lately and am quite inspired by your images. I’m also in Australia and have been struggling with “good” polar alignment due to not having a clear view of the south celestial from the locations I’ve shot. Can you give any info on your methods of alignment? Are your sites dark enough to see the octans or do you use drift method or similar? Cheers, Tristan.
Hey mate, thanks for supporting the channel by watching my content 👍 I normally image in bortle 1 or 2 skies, so zero light pollution, so I can see octans clear as. It can be very hard in light polluted areas to see. You can use phone apps to help and Richard tatti at nightscape images has a great video on his channel about how to use them when you can't see octans.
@@johnrutterphotography hey John, thanks for the response. I watch his videos also and use the app method. It’s pretty good most of the time but a bit hit and miss especially out at longer focal lengths. I’ll try get to a decent site so I can find them to help in the darker areas or areas that don’t have light pollution in that direction. Cheers.
Wow man. This is amazing. Could you please make a video on the workflow for stitching and editing the panorama? This would help a lot of beginners like me. For eg. Did you adjust the white balance, contrast on each photo and then stitched them or you did the whole colour balance after stitching?
I did same gigantic 2,8 gigapixel panorama with sony 85mm at northern hemisphere total zigzag tracked 238 images stitched togheter, but got some problems. First comes PTGui (not Pro version) with huge lack of Control points (my overlap was 65%) i did manualy frame by frame, then PTGui got me a massive banding lines between frames and strange color casting between a vertical rows. Is ithis banding lines and color difference fixably only in PTGUI Pro or how you manage your backround so clean and without starnge banding? Thanks John
Awesome image well done. How do you manage keeping a good polar alignment with the star tracker when your always moving the camera for the panno. I assume your constantly checking it.
Thanks mate, I just shot in manual and adjusted the exposure as the light changed. It's more of a guess than a science, but in post I adjusted any frames that were to dark/light
Thanks for sharing this informative and entertaining content, and for all your effort making it. While I really enjoyed your personality and the subject, the increased music volume turns me off.
Thanks for sharing this video i love the panno. But please can u equal the music to the rest of the sound. my ears are bleeding because music is so mutch louder then your voice.
Hi John, For this particular milky arch in this photo? What latitude did the milky way core located on the sky approximately? I love the look of a very nice arch of this milky way. Thanks
