Hi John , what no beer ? a bit nippie for that . looks bloody freezing, but irrespective , its all for the shot and what awesome shots they both were . Cheers mate ,wish i was there .
The opening scenes were great John those rolling hills mate are magnificent. I remember a while back you had a vlog showing how to edit and how you accentuated the line of the hills, so s this the same spot? The first image the detail is incredible both in the sky and foreground. We were out at Yenyenning Lakes and we got tons of green airglow. The second image is a bloody ripper ! Incredible, sensational and inspiring work mate.
I had my first go at a milky way panorama (let alone tracked) from your videos but you are getting me stoked to try it out soon, it's great to know how to plan - keep up the good work John!
John you rocked it again. Outstanding video and audio. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of Astro-Milky-Way photography. Hope to consume some beers with one day under a clear night sky. Stay safe. Glad there’s no snakes here in Hawaii. Mahalo and Aloha.
Whoa insane crisp work! Love it. Thanx for sharing. If we want to achieve something similar we have to driver for hours as we live in bortle 10 skies (Netherlands) ;)
Legend, John, two absolutely stunning shots. That foreground is so clean and the sky, as you’d expected, is sublime. Love it. Don’t want to think about those hand warmers though… 🤣
I'm so glad I've watch so many of your videos! My 14mm manual focus switch broke when I went out and was stuck with my 50mm. I knew exactly what to do thanks to your videos and the shot came out amazing! I could have used one more row but regardless I'm so happy with it!
Thanks mate, at 40mm I normally shoot about 14 images wide and 4 rows for the sky and 1 row for the foreground, plus a few extra images to get tops of trees. So normally around 70 total images, there about
Great video and stunning images. I have to say that I am jealous of the view you guys in the southern hemisphere get of the core but I'd rather be here than somewhere with snakes.
Thanks mate 👍 we do get a stunning view, and for the most part the snakes leave you alone, although that night one snake was pretty angry so......no thanks 🤣🤣
Two cracking shots mate, makes me realise how much I miss areas like the Glouster tops. Quick question, now that you have got your exposures down to a minute are you still levelling the camera every second shot or can you leave it for a few more?
It is such a beautiful spot, I think il go back a bit more. Good pick up on the levelling, I now let it go about 5-6 shots because of the exposure time
@@johnrutterphotography thanks John. So you shot wide open? How much overlap did you use? Was edge coma and vignetting a problem? Or does that get taken care of by the overlap? Or by post?
yep wide open, I shoot with 50% overlap and vignette gets fixed in post and any Coma gets taken care of by overlap, although this lens performs extremely well wide open
