It's a dangerous assumption to think you'll be having kids after 50... it can set expectations that will lead to disappointment as it's such a small chance of success at that age. Even after 40 it becomes more and more difficult, I know people say these things to console women but better consolation is.. if you are meant to have children, you will... if you don't Allah saved you from something. Allah Knows Best and is the best of planners.

Lesser known fact: men have a 'virility' clock. The quality and viability of sperm decreases for men from the age of 45. So old men although more able to concieve far longer past womens age, there is higher risk of genetic defects, complications and miscarriages as well. So you could argue there are 'geriatric pregnancies' for men too.

Biological clock is a real thing. 30 is old to have your first child. Your child bearing years biologically start when you first get your period. Having a baby at 50 is not normal nor the majority. So many odds are possible but What woman in the right mind would want their first child at 50? To the ones who think you should wait to get to know your wife before having kids.. DONT! Start having kids asap after you are married. You should have a brief or lengthy period to get to know your spouse before you choose them! People are more alike than not. Everyone thinks they have this unique character when In actuality most of us women and men are the same in terms of what we want and desire from the opposite sex. Obviously if you get specific their are small differences but in the grand scheme of things, it’s all the same. People should stop going in circles, get to the point and work through the tough times. No matter who you choose for marriage or how long you wait to have a child or how long you don’t wait you will always go through trials and tribulations. AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST.

it's dangerous advise to tell women that the biological clock isn't real (or is a generalization). Yes, Allah's will can make anything happen. Also, Allah doesn't prevent outcomes of poor choices. He's given us freewill to make rational and logical choices in the practice of Islam. Other women may take the sister's advice and choose to wait till their 50s and then they can't conceive. This advice will have cause women a huge loss. The advise is detrimental and causes harm. I will also argue that it will lead to the breakdown of the family unit if many women take this advise. Better advise would be to get married young (and when you're ready of course), and plan to have kids, and leave the rest to Allah.

If I got married at 35+ I’d want to start trying immediately. Can’t afford to wait that long tbh. It’s better to be a single parent than never experience having a child because you waited too long. Age is a huge factor

Keep it up Ali, those who came down hard on you and others during this show would never dare to host a similar one themselves because they have little to say. Some of the talks did get a bit explicit last time but I don't think it was meant to be like that.

@alidawah, you often quote the male gaze- undressed women lighting up the tool/pleasure centre of the brain. In the same study, they found the pleasure centre of the womens brain lit up at the sight of a mother and baby. This is the womans biology to ensure the attachment between mother and child, for survival and best chances for humankind.

I think you guys forgot that tomorrow is not promised. What if i'm 35 not yet married? For example, if i marry at 35 ( In Shaa Allah), i should wait for 2 years, and almost one year to give birth🤷🏻‍♀️. I want my baby to see grandparents ( In Shaa Allah) since they are not young..... The reason why you're giving bad advice is because Islam teaches us to be READY for marriage in order to get married. That means having children. The main reasons for marriage is procreation and avoiding zina. Done. 2 years is a bad idea.

Sorry, but the one crucial component you all missed was family and community. Only a couple generations back, men had control over the outer sphere and women had control over the inner sphere. The women would educate and train the next generation of females in all aspects, motherhood, farming, household, husband duties, medicine etc, that was their sphere of influence and eventually when women were old they would be regarded as the matriarchs and would perform duties to serve the community which included the type of knowledge that we now expect men to have. You cannot marry a man and expect him to fill every role that society is meant to fill, best friend, mother, sister, counselor, midwife, husband etc. Your mother, your sister, best friend, the midwife, and the town's matriarch or "aunty" has to fulfil those roles that you demand the man to fulfil. Before you say it, I already know, "in the west this is impossible bla bla bla, we no longer live in small tight knit communities where men and women are separately governing their spheres" BUT STILL, the way these sisters made it out to be like women are walking into marriage as poor helpless orphans is wrong. You have a wealth of information at your fingertips. Stop putting it all on men. Yes, a base level of emotional maturity and understanding of real world affairs is required, but unreasonable to expect a man to just solve allllll the problems you listed. Educate yourself first, learn to communicate better and involve trustworthy elders or relatives, but don't put unrealistic expectation on your partner, whether male or female, because it's unfair

Sigh. Everytime I watch this show I’m mind blown at the things said. There is One single mature, level headed MAN on this show. ONE. There’s too much immaturity on this show and excusing of immature mindsets and it’s dangerous for younger boys watching. Ali making comments like “yes you’re tired with the baby - I know. I’m working, I can “help” on my day off. Huh? There is no such thing as “helping with your child”. If you have a child- you own the responsibility of raising that child. Whether they need feeding at 3AM or not. Quite Frankly, it’s annoying to always hear Ali use working as an excuse for not fulfilling your emotional duties in a marriage- like women don’t work? This is not 1930. Sometimes it feels like he has some deep seated resentment to women and is against men doing better and doing away with those toxic “normal” behaviors that are Not serving men or women. He may not but somethings he says come across like that. Lastly- sister said it best “you are a leader not a boss”. This idea of “ugh my wife had a baby and isn’t paying me attention I’m going elsewhere”. Like who raised yall? That is a clear red flag that you are hands off as a parent because if you were involved as you should be , you wouldn’t have the free time to count the minutes your wife isn’t centering you. Like any human doesn’t need time to breathe and nourish themselves in order to feed into someone else - especially a human who just pushed out another human that needs them 20hours a day. Grow up- your channeling “mummy isn’t giving as much attention to me as my younger sibling” as opposed to “I’m a man, we have a newborn in our family and how should I be showing up as a husband and father during this time?”.

Salaam Alaykum, interesting topic which took alot of twists and turns not directly related to the topic at hand. The midwife and the PT have some really good points. A big issue that probably wasn't given alot of attention is telling 3rd parties your issues. Not all have your best interests and may even impact how you see your spouse or would lead to other issues. The dynamics of a newly wed and the culture shock from going from single to couple sharing the same living space.
