Uh sometimes like after a rush or something people tend to break with a small amount sometimes yes its people not knowing other times its just a accident 😅
To add: once you learn to always overcap don't leave your teammate and stand on the goal so they score faster unless you're absolutely sure the area is safe.
I actually am one of the big advocate of overcapping a goal. There is no question about why its so important. That's why I always try my best to overcap the goal. I also tend to be a bit more aggressive if the goal is undercapped. That's how unfortunate it is when I get the teammates that are clearly stupid except some of them who are literal gigachads.
They always destroy the goal without a big over cap and in the first three minutes. Bruh..... Underscoring.... Giving birds xp to opponents... TEAMMATES CANT STACK....
The main issue why people don't over cap goals is honestly the fact that Rayquaza decides games like 95% of the time. Think of how many times the first 8 minutes of a game could be going either way but at the last 2 minutes whoever gets Ray pretty much just wins the game on the spot. So many games usually end in a surrender after Ray is taken down that points you scored don't matter. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how many points are scored total or where they're scored or who scores them. The only thing that matters after the game is which team scored the most points regardless of the difference. And the one thing that drastically overtunes this is Rayquaza just letting a team skyrocket points for free. Over capping goals can help keep games closer than not but if the enemy team gets Ray and you don't have the tools to stop the onslaught then you're more than likely gonna lose and your efforts in the first 8 minutes are for nothing. Keep in mind this is all in the case if Ray gets taken. You can obviously defend Ray from being taken from the enemy team but if your team loses just one fight or make one mistake then it can virtually cost you the entire game. There are also times where a team gets Ray and still lose the game because of another team's defense or scoring skills. But let's be real: is that happening every game you play? Or is it a rare occurrence you see like once a day or week or so? Also how many times do you see surrender vote after Ray is taken? That's the unfortunate truth
It would be nice if Timi decides to overhaul the gameplay, like idk have some new mechanics or things in the map since its super annoying to have a game where you just dominate the first 8 minutes, then you lose the game cause they stole ray.
Yep, been on both ends. One time we were losing by like 300, I snuck the last hit on Ray and we ended up winning by 150. Also been on the losing end too. It's like the first 8 minutes and just.trying to get max level and nothing else matters.
Yeah 99 percent of the game is decided at rayquaza.. unless you are 500/0 that happen 1 game each 10, first 8 minutes are only for level up to fight at ray.. disgusting mechanic
As someone who has been playing since day 1, I have been overcapping with my teams forever. I took a break and came back recently and now it's a problem. I think younger and inexperience players don't know about this. Thank you for spreading awareness!
@@ChodyRayand im gonna bet the players that are actual ass at this game aren't gonna come across this video either since they would rather have luck carry them in a rayquaza fight.
On a related subject, I like to follow what I call "backcapping etiquette". By this I mean many things, like starting the score at 2:05 and only with a fast mon so you can be at the Ray fight quickly. Also only doing it if the fight has not started etc-etc. But one of my rules is to backcapp with 45-49 points, so that I will score 90-98 and leave the 2nd tier goalzone alive with only a few points. This way if we win (or even if we don't) Ray, it is easier for me or my teammates to score on that 2nd goal instead of the main. Even with the Ray shields, sometimes the main base is just too hard to score on.
Do you understand that this move is completly useless and can cost you the game? 99 of games are decided at rayquaza and you walk away to back cap? If enemies have a brain, they see you out there and start the team fight without you.. scoring 90 useless points while the team who got ray wins... Not the team who backcap 90 points... Please don t do this anymore, you have to be in bush at 2:05 at ray.. stop.. there s no other strategies..
I think the only time I don’t over cap a lot is cause I need to break the goal is the enemy team doesn’t have a place to heal alot during the big fight. That’s usually the only situation
Maybe a good idea but remember that breaking the first goal also spawns lots of wild mons in a very safe farming spot for them so they can catch up on xp a lot easier
"big fight" is very vague, if you mean fights against objectives like regieleki/regice/regirock/registeel, then breaking the goal without an overcap would be worse than not tbh, since if you can win an objective, i bet you can also beat them while they're healing lmao.
I recently had this happen to me about a week ago, I was with playing tsareena with a hoopa, called HoopaTheMain (ironic name) and we where trying to break the first goal. He has less points to not break the goal and I had more points to break the goal. However, he didn’t attempt to score, and we waited like 5 sec with such an awkward stare but eventually I ended up scoring because I didn’t want an enemy team to just come here and not score making us look stupid. So I only overcapped by like less then 5 points. I think the biggest issue is that the unite game doesn’t do a very good job on explaining how overcapping works leading to still a lot of people doing the same miskate.
I believe that sometimes people just doesn't care, they underestimate a big overcap. On the other hand, sometimes I don't pay enough attention to my teamates or get anxious because I see the enemie coming to defend the goal 😅😅
Players just suck at everything to be honest they are afk, wrong rotating or not even helping, terrible builds, and etc. things like that just makes me believe in the future they all suck
Me as Inteleon level 10. 30 points Random as wartortle lvl 8. 30 points. Dumb Mewtwo lvl 11. 40 points. I go to score on a tier 1 at 37. I see Wartortle and Mewtwo coming. I stop capping so that Wartortle can score instead and then Mewtwo. Mewtwo GETS THERE FIRST AND SCORES IN FRON OF BOTH OF US… I can’t even sometimes…
Remember that you can help your allies score by standing on the goal. Like Cris said, sometimes it's best to help someone set up into a big overcap. Also, if no one is nearby and you don't have many points, the goal could be left "primed" for now. Farm and overcap later.
I'd always go for Overcapping, but sometimes, I do think it's better that we just destroy the enemy base, as they're for sure are coming this way and we're outnumbered if we do and we'll die and unable to score. It's frustrating to see someone destroy the post, that I set up to sub 10, only for them to destroy it for 11 or something... That is so annoying, I agree.
Yeah, we know, most of the people who play this game dont actually know how to play the game. My biggest annoyance is when I get a duo or trio that prioritizes top, so we spend the whole match having to deal with an enemy team that has more exp and FUCKIN BUFFS. I dont think people understand how big of a deal it is to have to fight against a team that has buffed atk and spatk or def and spdef and up a level or two. Then they just keep diving and dying, feeding them.
On a similar note, it is bad that sometimes players defend a goal zone from a bad overcap of enemy or regieleki. Especially with regieleki, some players just defend it no matter if rayquaza spawns or goal zone is on low points. Only worse happens in this scenario, enemy gets the rayquaza or player defending from regieleki hits it enough for it to enter the goal resulting in bigger overcap.
The most beautiful moment i had was when my team got rayquaza and our charizard waited in a bush so i could score 98 points in their 2nd goal, then he scored 100 points and broke it afterwards
I’m very sorry to my teammates because I had no idea big overcaps = more exp 😅 I don’t score very often though, unless I’m stacking & I try to make sure that’s itty bitty points! I’m usually defending our goal while some rando scorbunny is getting KO’d lmao
I forgot the content pf the tutorial that you get when you first play the game, but this info should be included there, so if the problem is "they don't know overcapping matters" it can mitigate that to an extent
Some people definitely think that you can't overcap and that you are just losing points, but I think the biggest thing is that people assume that breaking goals=winning, and don't take into account how much xp you lose vs how much the opponents now get.
I’d also add sometimes it’s worth it to wait a second or two to score. Had a game where someone scored 50 at 2:01 on an uncontested outer goal. If he’s waiting one more second to start channeling it would have been 100.
Honestly i try to get mostly xp early on to get max lvl , but i also do that while trying to defend my goal sense im more defensive than offensive but it works for me , and i don't pay much attention to the score i just listen to the announcer to see if we are winning, or just by the number of goals 👍
Yesterday I would have scored and won by a single point but my teammate ran up with 9 points and blocked me. Genuinely wanted to just quit Unite forever.
Let's just move onto some adult rated moba. Unite is filled with way too many toddlers to be a good experience for those who know the mechanics of the game
the devs should add a visual on how much points get overcapped when standing on a goal like a +(amount overcapped) with like a font that gets like shiner and bigger the higher overcap you have just to make it real clear for how gormless unite players are
Sometimes when you are in the heat of the moment, you dont really think. Ive also had a time where i accidentally scored a low number, when i wanted to cancel it, but it wouldn’t cancel in time
Thanks so much for explaining the difference between, "We are in the lead', "We have a huge lead" and "It's a close match". The game does not explain it it all and it can be panic inducing in some matches, esp when you lose Ray x_x
I’ve done it a couple of times that I score just one or two too many and break accidentally. Those few times are one of the big reasons I wish there was a “sorry!” Ping on the wheel
The moments I find funny is when in the heat of battle everybody is almost dead and I try to break the goal with 40, then there's always one attacker that breaks with 6 points and stands there realizing what they did
It all boils down to 3 rules of thumb: 1 - Let teammates dunk the most points that WON'T break a goal. 2 - THEN, let the teammate with the most points break the goal. 3 - Remember all dunks are doubled during the Final Stretch.
i think the simplest way to explain it is this: tell players to first *focus on getting the goal LOW* , NOT broken, but low. then you can overcap to break the goal with maximum points, when the goal is ideally at 1 or whatever low number. i dont normally "do math" but you have a general sense of how many points are going into the goal, based on the number of players standing on the goal. if youre really not sure, maybe its better to wait a small moment to decide to score or not
The trouble with getting the goal low is, your jungler will come along and overcap it for like 2 points with about 7 and a half minutes of the match left 😑
Personally i don't think overcapping is that important on the top goal; it should be broken as soon as possible with the goal of getting Regeleki to their base goal late game. Also a lot of times leki ends up breaking the goal which sucks. Would rather have someone score 12 pts and break the goal so that leki doesn't break it and can move to the second goal, giving more ppl a chance to score. Ultimately the goal should be on the third round for it to be hitting their base so your team can go on a scoring frenzy without having to worry abt breaking/overcapping. Doesn't always that way but made sense to me. Obviously if i was standing on the goal w 8 to break and my team mate had 40 id defer to them. But way more concerned w overcapping on bottom than top.
Yes this happened to me today, mewtwo had 50, I had 40 after capturing Rayquaza, and so I did the same to another teammate in a different game and it completely builds a better scoring lead.
Chris maybe next time if goal gonna be the topic, maybe adding the goal info graph would help as well to show how the lead/behind your team vs enemy team in scoring
This literally just happened to me last night. I had 50 points and no shield after stealing Ray. I was a second away from finishing scoring when my freaking teammate with a shield and 28 points walks up and dunks, breaking the goal before I can score, with 5 seconds left in the game, and we lost the game by 20 pts. Fml.
Personally it feels like too many people focus on being the main character in each Unite game and end up not mathing, try 1v5 the enemy team, and play poorly overall and blame everyone else for their mistakes. It's rare to get teammates that actually know what they're doing in ranked
I also want to share my incident that a bottom goal only required 24 and a random with 30, don't score goal He open a voice chat and tell me to score 50 I feel emotional at that point ❤but we losse that match by 9 points 😢
Some teammates are really irritating. Atleast you got some good players. Some are so stupid that crustle taking center ahead of mewtwo and defender farming while losing regileiki and letting it in while farming beside it even in master 1600☹️☹️
I never break the goal when we are equal or loosing but when im winning. Im legit high. And make negative iq plays like going into their flux zones, break goals and stuff
i honestly think in the heat of the moment people jus score without thinking much about it and just view the quicker you break the goals the better. It can be very frustrating tho bc it’s easier to min max tier 3 goals so once they’re down it’s harder to get points in. Def had many instances where someone broke a goal at 1 with 5 points instead of the 50 someone was trying to score. Many sarcastic thanks came after that lmao.
I just played a game with you lol I was the mew(kemzart)...I'm not the best with mew but I think I played ok 😅 but you're great man I'm still learning alot it's my first moba experience
Most annoying is when rayquaza spawn, my team has huge lead, and instead of defending points and reengage ray when enemy would start it... a) 1 ppl die at 2.00 around enemy point (for what when you have huge lead...), then rest of team running ray and die 4 vs 5 (yea, I'm going with them because in this case is win or lose situation) b) 1 or 2 ppl start ray when rest of team isn't at position which end with their death and free ray for enemy... (for what doing ray when you are winning hard) c) but most annoying is when somehow 1 enemy die at 2.00 and whole team insta run doing ray. Today I lost 3 games in row like this, because enemy randomly steal ray (2 times in row, do you believe? And one time 4 enemy just destroy us on ray)... again, why starting ray instead of just def it when you win hard...
I think the only time it's fine to break goal asap is when your team is trying to get Eleki but the goal is already pass the 20 mark. Break that goal so that the Eleki will advance the 2nd goal and choose to either push or retreat and get farm. But bot lane, for the love of Arceus, do the math first if possible. XD
Im under the assumption that most people dont know… I often wait for my team mates to score whenever we can get a big overcap but sometimes they just wait for me to 😂
Lol this is rare when it happens especially when playing solo. Chris I get it but most people know this but refuses to face basic logic. What you showed was what I call a unite miracle lmao
i thought you were gonna say to not overcap goals cus you can't get more points than it takes to destroy one. But actually i've been doing this ever since i first started playing lol!
Common sense seems to be getting more uncommon nowadays in general life let alone a game 😅but seriously this happens too much! I also find checking the map isn’t very common either 🤣
A random blastoise scored 18 points which was enough to break the goal instead of letting my friend score 50 points so yeah randoms are randumbs who can't do basic math
but is it worth letting the opponent escape/ heal close by or have them far away from objectives and have to farm far away from objectives like everytime my teammates let the goal get taken it hinders the team so bad, everyone needs to farm but the farm is so far away from the objective that we lose dew to being unable to keep up. SO i destroy the goals 24/7 what are they going to do? grind? and risk losing the objective? its such a messed up way to make players lose just because i over cap and cause them to backtrack to grind.
@embernodebeef8319 sometimes yes it is worth it a good player knows when to break goals and when to capitalize, and that said some ppl dont even overcap goals but i wanna say it depends how the game is going. If by first regi nobody scored top or its already low enough to where its worth breaking so the regi can go to second goal do that but to break it before the first regi its a bad move.
@embernodebeef8319 like i cant tell you how annoying it is when ppl break goal before we can take all the exp frm lane before doing that because its not just denying the enemy exp but you as well so the only thing that spawns would be the birds vs the other farm alongside the birds thats why u dont want to break it to early cuz you cripple yourself as well like the healing enemies get from first goal isnt as much as you get from tier 2 thats why its easy to bulldoze over ppl standing in goal if you have enough ppl to help. But idk when watching ppl like cris or phill they dont break it right away but at the same time they also have no problem killing ppl that use goal as a crutch
If you break the first goal and steal the top objective you don't have to follow it and go for the bottem objective, further more if you do follow the top objective you can break both goals and focus on bottem hindering the enemy team If the first goal is not broken the enemy's can ignore top objective breaking the goal and go for bottem objective thus its riskier If you're first goal is broken, your farm looses value and you risk wasting time to grind over objectives If you let the enemy escape to the goal they have the high ground, but if no goal they can easily be picked off from top or bottem objective
Just had battle on zeraora 126k, but still we lost, because my team did nothing and opponents had Mewtwo with 136k (-_-). Is there actually any way to counter mewtwo that is thinking at least a bit?
hi, I recently started playing the game again, but I can't figure out how to get Mew's medal, I can't do anything with my friend code :/ any ideas ? thanks in advance
Any overdunk is the equivalent of scoring that many points into the enemy's tier 3 goal, it's completely ridiculous how few players are aware of that. Thank you so much for denying me the chance to score 40 wigglytuff, you really needed to score that 12 didn't you?
