On this Numbers on the Board RU-vid Exclusive, Mike, Darrick, Pierre and Kenny Beecham react to the biggest NBA Draft "What-If's" in the last 10 years.
0:35 THANK YOU PIERRE I've had enough of these hindsight merchants who (still to this day) say that the Sixers were wrong for picking Markelle at #1 "oh I'd have taken Giannis first in 2013 if I was the GM" smh
Sixers were not wrong. If I'm Philly I'm still taking Markelle. If he didn't get a "ghost injury" he was going to be an amazing player. TOC is a injury that takes a long time to detect and a long time to solve.
@@cronggpal I think the potential to still be a 15-20 PPG scorer is still there. Just he's a few years behind on his career because of injury. 1 year younger than Tatum so he's 25 right now.
@@Hotsauceonmy he had some decent seasons there. He went to a team coached by Luke Walton bro and then had injury issues. He shouldn't have ever went above luka(I thought luka should go number 1 at the time) or Trae, but he did have some okay enough season to see his potential. Like 15 ppg, 7 rpg seasons or something like that. Luke never got him to buy in on defense and never taught him how to play right within the team.
i LOVE videos like this when you guys talk about historical stuff. Please do a lot of stuff like this in offseason. Y'all promised an all-time draft after NBA 75 and never got to do it....
Man I still remember freshman year and my buddy was so mad when Hawks did that trade and the reasoning was "culture". Guy still hasn't let it go and actually got worse when the trade news about Trae started.
I think if ant to the warriors he'd probably look even better that he does now. he'd take that 3 spot in the warriors offense that got HB 150 million and KD in goat talks lol he'd flourish in that system... ant with that much space is scary. plus he grew so much during the time with kerr in team usa i kinda have to imagine what he would be under that warriors culture be crazy
What if Devin booker fell one more spot to OKC in the draft. Rumors were the suns were also interested in Cam Payne at the time. Supposedly Russ and KD wanted booker
Markelle fultz is such an underrated story, right at the top of the video from P. Fultz was actually a very good pick at the time and made a ton of sense in terms basketball fit. He just didn’t translate to the nba level immediately. But if Fultz was who he was drafted to be, Jimmy has a ring, Embiid has a ring, Ben Simmons has a ring
What if Andrew Wiggins was never traded for Kevin Love. Would the Andrew Wiggins we see now be a different monster had he played under Bron and Kyrie? Would the Cavs have more titles? Would the Timberwolves have gotten KAT and ANT?
The fit would never make sense. I mean, at that time only Carmelo and Draymond were the only undersized fours the league had atleast that are effective enough to go against teams. LeBron at four with Wiggs not being a spot up shooter is chaotic.
@jman520 Wiggs would've more than likely been primarily a SG and with Bron and Kyrie there they would've focused more on making him into an elite defender
If ant went to the warriors in 2020 he would’ve still had that first year (hypothetically) of injuries to Klay and Steph where he would’ve been able to have the ball a lot as a rookie and develop
@@rahjaejohnson wiggins in 2020 total season averaged 22 ppg . Edwards rookie season steph wouldbe been there from day 1😂 your getting the years mixed up😂
@@yahiaali4059 ahhh I see yeah I had em backwards, this was the play in year. Klay missed that whole season still ant would’ve gotten plenty of touches
Draft what if: what if the Trailblazers got the 1st pick in 1984 instead of Houston. Hakeem with Drexler earlier on? And would Houston pick Jordan or Sam Bowie?
My favorite NBA draft what if is What if the Grizzlies won the 2003 NBA lottery? Lebron would start his career with Pau Gasol, Shane Battier, Mike Miller, and Jason Williams That is a potential start to a dynasty and definitely changes the course of NBA history for LAL and SAS too
yeah . They are thinking about the current Ant. Ant first two years in the league had a lot of bad habits that would have got him benched by Steve Kerr a lot. His development might take longer on the Warriors because they greatly favor vets.
What if the NBA didnt gift the cavs the number one so they could get LeBron back ? 😮 After gifting the Cavs the other first overall two years earlier ? Is LeBron now the alltime Fumble ?
Yall don't remember how Steph was bad Wiseman's first year before he was injured. People were calling him old and washed then he clawed his way to the play in with one of his worst teams
What the hell has Steph adapted to its been the same shit since 2015. They would have 100% held Ant back. That's why they are where they are now the 2 timeline plan would have failed
🤣 Luka is a more efficient better scorer rebounder passer blocker stealer clutch player There is a reason many people believe that if Luka wasn’t traded and stayed on the hawks, he would have been what lebron was in the east and keep making finals in a row Hawks have done a better job getting Trae help but the difference in dominance is insane
