In your first game, Ox of Agonas was lit up because the opponent was hovering over it 🤣 you need to exile 8 cards to escape Ox and you only had 7 other cards in the graveyard - the Ox being the 8th.
I really liked, in your intro, when you note that the deck changes emphasis through sideboard exchanges against certain opponent deck types. Please, more1 It’s kindof a bigger/more meta-level deck constructions-which I’d love to understand more: What makes-not a particular deck good-but rather what principals of deck building do you consider I’d love it if you incorporated more discussion of deck building principals/theory crafting/whatever. It would truly be the fuckingbeesknees. You explain so well your in-game decisions. It’s why I enjoy your videos so much. Maybe expand this? In any case, keep doing you.
Whenever I get stuck in standard, I always end up watching your videos and makes me want to play again immediately. I've been playing yorion lists the past few weeks after the rakdos midrange deck got check. This deck I dig. Does a lot of stuff to counter the meta right now. Thanks again for showcasing this.
CGB, I love your content. It keeps me company through some pretty crappy times, and if I'm actually happy, I can still watch it and see you play some good magic and I can shamelessly netdeck fun decks. :)
Just wanted to come here to say I love your videos. I take breaks where I dont watch for a while, but if I'm playing magic, I am watching your ENTIRE video daily
I played around with this build and ended up with my favorite deck I’ve played in probably a month. Big Red Ugin!!! The main differences is it’s now mono red 🎤🎤🎤 with 4 Irencrag, relic robber, Valakut, and Yidaro. Irencrag has eight cards to combo with either turn 4 Yidaro or turn 5 Ugin. Relic robber is instant pressure against slow decks and uses up some Yidaro removal. Against fast decks it’s shuffled back in for another card with valakut. I’ve never mulliganed with it yet (31 possible lands. I did have 30 but then I missed a 4th land drop 3 turns in a row 1 game. Again Valakut is like the mvp for cruising through this deck) thanks CGB for the content that got me to this deck 😎
Almost want to trash your play for tilting is into commenting, BUT you do such a great job explaining the thought process and usually come up with the best possible outcome. Very fun to watch!
I don't leave comments often on your videos but thank you for never ceasing to have daily content for me. The quarantine has been hard and I've lost contact with some of my friends but at least I can wake up each day with a new CGB video.
I have been building different versions of the deck, and after 30 games, I have settled on this one. I am currently 12-3 with it, and tbh the one leyline tyrant is a real allstar. With Irecrag, you can save all the mana for later and do tons of damage. The one sundering stroke has clutched lots of games. You can play it on turn four, and deal 21 damage. 7 to face, and 7 to 2 other targets. It's insane against any aggro, and most decks never see it come because it is also a great finisher. Added heartless act because it helps with Questing Beast and Lovestruck beast. Also good vs Kroxa. Here is the list. Deck 4 Spikefield Hazard (ZNR) 166 3 Swamp (ANB) 116 4 Scorching Dragonfire (ELD) 139 4 Bonecrusher Giant (ELD) 115 1 Leyline Tyrant (ZNR) 147 1 Storm's Wrath (THB) 157 2 Ox of Agonas (THB) 147 1 Sundering Stroke (ELD) 144 4 Irencrag Feat (ELD) 127 4 Ugin, the Spirit Dragon (M21) 1 3 Mazemind Tome (M21) 232 4 Solemn Simulacrum (M21) 239 2 Extinction Event (IKO) 88 13 Mountain (ANB) 114 2 Heartless Act (IKO) 91 1 Shredded Sails (IKO) 136 1 Valakut Awakening (ZNR) 174 2 Temple of Malice (THB) 247 2 Crawling Barrens (ZNR) 262 2 Fabled Passage (ELD) 244
Hey CGB, here is the algorithm boosting comment; Hahaha, CGB misplays, I myself, as a flawless mage, of course never make any mistakes... Jokes aside, love your content, looking forward to your uploads each day!
been playing a mono-red version with storm's wrath as the sweeper. Definitely worse against RG aggro but feels fine otherwise, and occasionally kills a walker
Yours is the only mtg arena content creator channel I'm subscribing to bc your not constantly asking your viewers for subs. btw PLZZZZ create a scourge of the Skyclaves deck! I made one but it's not consistent. Nobody has really made a good one yet. So if you're up to the challenge, the task is falling on you. Ever since I saw the card I've wanted to make a viable deck with it. Gl and keep up the Awesome content Homie G!
I've got a Rakdos deck that uses the Scourge. It's a little all over the place, but it's been doing well. It's a rogue/graveyard deck. I use Stormfist crusaders, castle lockthwain and demonic embrace to damage myself and the rogues damage my opponent. If I damage myself too much, I use Lurrus and the archfiend to get my life back up. Kroxa is more for late game, especially if your opponent can easily handle your rogues. I was thinking about adding crystal slipper for the haste, but I don't think it's necessary. The Scourge of the Skyclaves is definitely a very awkward card, especially in early game. Deck 4 Thieves' Guild Enforcer (M21) 125 2 Call of the Death-Dweller (IKO) 78 4 Demonic Embrace (M21) 95 4 Bloodchief's Thirst (ZNR) 94 4 Lurrus of the Dream-Den (IKO) 226 4 Fabled Passage (ELD) 244 4 Castle Locthwain (ELD) 241 7 Mountain (M20) 273 9 Swamp (M20) 272 2 Rankle, Master of Pranks (ELD) 101 4 Archfiend's Vessel (M21) 88 4 Robber of the Rich (ELD) 138 2 Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger (THB) 221 2 Scourge of the Skyclaves (ZNR) 122 4 Stormfist Crusader (ELD) 203
For the algorithm, I think at 30:40 you mightve missed lethal if you activated crawling Barron twice, giving you 6 extra power, but it doesn’t really matter
Shut up and take my thumbs up lol But yeah that game was wild. Really pays to think of any way your opponent can come back, and not assume you just out-valued them.
CGB have you considered a Yorion Mill deck? Blinking Tutelages and Omen of the Sea and things as such? Like a mill deck with 2 yorions maindeck or something?
Note to anyone that copy pasta's this deck into arena. PUT 4 CRAWLING BARRENS IN IT. It's legitimately a world of difference between this and bonders enclave. Played a bunch of mirror matches where I easily won with a 10/10 barrens while they're there sitting around with a dead enclave. Makes the control matchups a joke once you figure out how to navigate them, otherwise your control matchup is sketchy and can be fairly dependent on you drawing into one of your only 2. Been my favourite deck to play so far this season, feels great to pop an irencrag feat to take out two fatties early with a shatterskull. Has to be one of the best manabases in standard in a while

CGB with 16k gems: well, I wanted to be cheap, so I didn't craft 2 crawling barrens. Me, F2P: 4 mythic lands for mono green, here we go! But seriously, I approve. Hoarding this way got me to 100+ rare wildcards as F2P.
@@jozzyalthefool9273 The colorless lands, especially crawling barrens, are very strong and being nearly mono red lets you use more of them. having double black requirements gets in the way of that
@@ahoy1 I think that crawling barrens are slightly overrated, to ve honest. Actualy, a lot of the colourless lands are, not counting Mutavault and Tron lands
Found this deck today on ladder, was testing Reanimator. Turns out an 11/11 9cmc Titanoth is too much to handle for Ugin and a deck without Heartless Act
Another good vidéo, thanks CGB! Group question: how do I use the bedroom emotes? Got them from mastery but can't find out how to use in game... what am I missing? (When I click on my avatar only the regular text shows up...)
Is it really worth splashing for just the two cards? In particular, red does have a couple spells available to them to damage all creatures. Fewer tapped lands and definitely being able to cast Feat's RRR sounds pretty good. Especially when you have four robots who can turn those sweeps into value.
Sometimes you really do need to exile things vs kill them. Escape creatures, the occasional Seasoned Hallowblade, and since Green is popular and can possibly have Heroic Intervention, you don’t wanna go for a sweep and the Green player just says “nope.”
my main deck has been a similar big red deck, but it's actually only red. i agree with your statement that mono green is the worst. that's why i have 2 soul sear in my 60. storms wrath kills most stuff, but if they're on the play, yorvo and lovestruck beast into henge are really hard to deal with... because henge's mana cost is too high for ugin to realistically remove. overall i feel like it's a decent deck though, and very fun / off meta
CGB you should use your draft tokens. You never know you might draft the crawling barrens. Maybe your $10k goal should be you streaming draft as I am sure that will get you there :-)
Dodging Monogreen shouldn't be too hard, in ranked it seems I am the only one playing it. But it got me to Diamond undefeated, not sure why it isn't more played
34:57 Since your predictions about your draws are so ridiculously precise you should not predict what you don't wan to draw. Anyways this Ox draw...I had a good laugh and a facepalm
