Not sure if it will get mentioned in the patch notes but the devs said they'll do an update every 3 weeks now, instead of 4, and 2 new gods per update (1 god every week and a half essentially) which is huge. Hyped for S2!
@@alexaxy3328 Considering they also committed to giving every god kit a refresh (minor or major), yes its huge. Thats a lot of work on top of everything else they are adding to the game.
Wow! You managed to cover all the patch notes in 40 minutes compared to smite devs who took 3 hours and couldn’t cover them all. This is why you’re the always on top, you’re always on that smite grind! Hi-rez hire this man!
@@revenge3265 Calling someone a G has been around for decades. Way before the Tate showed up. Stupid to say Top G is now an insult just because you think it is.
the niagara fx emitters explanation is basically exactly what it says - the bounds for the particles are dynamically calculated (instead of fixed) and the calculations can be heavy on the CPU out of the box. they reconfigured the bounding boxes to be less CPU intensive. and its only the first pass so it sounds like they plan to continue to tweak it for better performance.
My wife met me 11 years ago when i started smite 1 beta. She would play neith vs AI Your comment made me want to tell my story. Glad a game and a relationship have all lasted more than a decade. Cheers to 10 more years for the 4 of us
Performance was way better for me on flash test, I didn’t realize my settings reset and I was on maximum except for shaders being on medium and I had ~ 110 fps. In older tests I had to go minimum to get similar fps to what I had this time around.
Monetization was atrocious in Smite 1 and... well, all of their other games. I'd like to see this as a turning point but I doubt. Skins too, if I can't tell at a glance what god is running towards me I'll just shelf this.
I never played conquest in the original Smite. I got into it super late and didn't want to take the time to try and get good, especially since the other modes are so fun. I want Smite 2 to be my main game and with all the changes to Conquest that have occurred, could you please do a "How to Play Conquest in Smite 2"? Since it's only conquest and arena in the alpha, I want to take this time to practice well and I don't even know what that would look like.
Couldn’t tell from the wording but does the sr dampening stack on demigods or is it just a flat 50% . If it doesn’t stack you would technically have less gains and losses in a 2400 SR gaps at 75% so like a gold 3 player playing with a master 3 player would lose more gains then a gold 3 player playing with a demigod ? Also is the gain individual per party member like let’s say I’m playing with my friend from day one and we both hit silver 2 , 1600 SR. If we add a friend who is starting at Amber will they gain as much as the two silver 2 players if they win , logically they should win more if they are winning in bronze-silver lobbies right ?
I bought Smite 2 as soon as I could, but couldn't play it because I just could not distinguish teamates from enemies. I've been shouting for it to change every alpha since then. Glad it is finally coming but also kinda sad it's this late.
I dont know about the new rank system since it reward smutfing cuz its easier to increase your win rate with less games considering that most pro players have a 50% win rate overall
I am so hyped for the new ranked system. I can't wait to see all the new rewards and ranks being shown off 🎉 (Btw) there is actually a rank LOWER than amber, they called it "Clay" From 0sr-200sr. This is absolutely hilarious. I can't wait to trash talk my teammates and call them Clay Pots.
Are normal games going to have actual matchmaking or is it just gonna throw the first 10 people in the game together? It really only talks about matchmaking for ranked play but what about normals?
General question about the founders addition and the alpha if anyone happens to know: I bought the alpha on my Xbox through the Microsoft store and have played it through there. I just recently built myself a new PC and would like the play the alpha on there. Do I have to buy the founders addition a second time through steam in order to play ? Even if my accounts are linked through hi-rez?
To my knowledge you have to be CAREFUL in doing the next few steps but check on the FAQ once you are locked in with a hirez account/steam/epic game + xbox account(microsoft) you have a interface that is inside the game that let's you do a confirm to combine both accounts and there's a place inside the website to go and do a link. so chekc it out im sure yu will figure it out
Mordred will never see the light of day in ranked, everyone is gonna ban him until he gets nerfed.😂 also I like how they’re trying to make every god viable in almost every role, makes the matches more diverse
Maybe im misunderstanding this, but it sounds like even on full release gods will be gem only purchases, and favour is only for buying free ascension pass items? If they are gem only and their costs are equivalent to smite 1 but scaled by the 2x amount that everything else seems to be thats 400 gems with 100 per week of log ins, so 1 god able to be earned f2p per month? If that's the case game might be doa
Favor isn't implemented yet, I think they have larger plans for reworking the whole earned-currency system that aren't ready yet. You don't need any currency to earn the free ascension pass items, you just get them as you level up the God. Atm, yes, the only way to buy Gods is a founder's pack, Diamonds or legacy gems unfortunately but I imagine by the time the game goes full free-to-play there will be an earned-currency system implemented.
I mean 30 gods for an alpha is pretty good. But I do agree like none of my mains are in the game yet but I understand it takes so my time to implement them.
So majority of this patch is bringing items/mechanics from Smite 1 or reworking existing stuff to "Function like Smite 1" Then my question is again, why the fuck Smite 2 even exists?
On one hand, I feel the annoyance. Would have enjoyed the original things from Alpha 1/2 where it felt like a new game. I realize catering to new people and the OG player base helps retain people and draw new people in. On the other, UE3 sucks. UE5 good. They've made this much progress within a relatively short amount of time. Imagine what they can do with a bit more and 24/7 input instead of random flash tests and alpha weekends. Maybe as we progress we'll get more changes and they can work into making it better/change things that'll make it newer and more fun.
smite 2 had to happen, smite needed the overhaul the game is a decade old running on garbage code it probably started to take way more time to implement changes to the game, not to mention the game is kinda dying and this will hopefully breath life into the franchise
@@killernninja This. They've even gone into details about how much easier it is to change things now in UE5. Better we see an updated game that we can help shape the future of, rather than watch a favorite game die.
...you play at cap frames bruh i seen your frame rate you legit drop to the 60s.. legit go look at ur past videos you can see your frame rate so to say you pretty much play at cap frame rate is bogus my guy i only call you out cause your saying the performance is fine and if it is then why would you and you're beast machine drop from 120 to 60 69 fps lmao not hating but just calling out facts the game still needs much more optimization period
They worded it weirdly which makes the whole thing confusing but owning a founder's pack will continue to grant unlimited access to every god. It's those that get in via a code / invite that will only have access to the current god pool as a "free rotation" and the recently released gods will need to be purchased.
