That is too bad to hear how this had gone down for sure. You have a very level head and fair outlook about it all, and kudos to your professional take. It seems like the company as a whole is maybe reflective of your experience as a reviewer. Look forward to your future content, cheers
Hi Jeffrey, It is a shame they have not replied to you and definitely their loss frankly. It is a shame when these Companies just go Silent and don’t have the courtesy to reply and tell you what the position is . I have great respect for the way you give your honest opinion unbiased in all your reviews keep up the good work
🙋♂Hi Jeffrey! I look at this as their loss for not reaching out to you in a timely manner regarding being on the shipping list or not. On another note, not many reviews on this device have been overwhelmingly positive to say the least. Though I would have loved to see your review on this device, from what I have seen so far this will not be a great choice for me and assume for many others as well. I won't go into many details as to why I feel this way, just in case you do receive a review unit...have my fingers crossed. Thank you so much for sharing. Kudos from NYC.🗽
I'm in the U.S. and there were as of Thursday listings for the Bigme Hibreak on Amazon. I was about to get one for use as a tablet/writerdeck (not as a phone as I know that's questionable at best in the U.S.), but by the next day either the listing was pulled or they were sold out. Disappointing, the closest equivalent is the Boox Palma (not a phone, but a phone-sized e-ink tablet), the reason I DON'T want the Boox is because Boox devices have a reputation for being pretty fragile. At any rate, it does seem like something odd is happening with the company. I'll probably put things off for at least a couple of months even if and when the listing goes back up, and see how things go with other folks before taking a risk. Or just bite the bullet on getting a Boox even though they have....issues.
Also, there's supposed to be a wave two on the Hibreak and the second round will feature better internals. So it might be worth waiting to see how that plays out as well. For details on how the device is faring thus far, you can check out the Bigme subreddit which is fairly active right now for the device.
In this kind of a product market, the relationship with the company is up there in importance with the product itself. If I'm buying a pair of pants, I'm not typically as concerned with whether the company has a reputation of good customer service and responsiveness if something goes wrong with the product. With e-ink, I want to know that the company I'm purchasing from cares about communication and if I reach out to them they have an organizational culture that values people in their market place... big or small significance. It does not sound to me... if nothing happened to this person and they had the ability to respond and didn't... that they are not the kind of company I would want to promote or purchase from, but that's just me...
Something is wrong here .. I have placed an order on 19/July and till now there is no update on my order .. status is just "order received". I sent an email last week and Jana replied saying that they need time to fulfill orders ... i am still waiting .. just sent another email asking for updates .. I think they don't have stock !
That is strange. Based on their website, they seem to have sold under 4k of these devices (that's my best guess, I'm not completely confident in that number) which isn't much. I wouldn't think they would have supply issues with numbers like that.
Hmmm . . . I wonder if we are talking about the same store in these two cases. The official site is store.bigme.vip. @RobZakaria -- is that where you ordered from?
@@jeffreymoss yes .. really strange .. i can see the reviews online but for some reason, my order hasnt been processed.. really frustrating .. i saw another youtube reviewer that said that she cancelled her order because of the delays.
That's even worse, as your site has more views than my channel! Building brand recognition is a long, hard process -- especially when there are other entrants in the market with much higher market share and favorability. If I were running the business, communication and outreach would be a cornerstone in my marketing plan. In fact, thinking it further, I'd probably try to create a network of influencers (I use that term loosely - you have to start somewhere after all) and really connect with them to drive engagement. A lot of that can be done for free, like sharing news with that group first, answering questions timely, highlight features and solicit feedback -- things that build excitement and engagement. Just come up with creative ideas to keep the brand out there and circling about. But that's just me, I guess.
@@jeffreymoss To be fair, people like us that have experience with a variety of e-ink tablets are not likely to give favourable reviews of Bigme until they make their product more competitive. The sad fact is that I cannot with a clear conscience recommend any Bigme over its Boox alternative - I don't dislike Bigme, but the Boox software is simply better (and there are lots of things about the Boox software I could also critique as well but it is still one of the best currently on the market). And, as you say, Bigme products are priced similarly to Boox but have no real distinct advantage imo. So, it's probably in their interests to reserve review units for the so-called "influencers" that will work more on finding the positive spin to promote their products rather than reviewers that give an honest and objective opinion.
