I love Callous. I always associate him with high level competitive ADVOU because of his years of commentating over tournaments on his channel. Really appreciate him being a part of this. Props to all the people involved in this channel. It's been great entertainment so far
@ The dozen comments who mentioned it... Yes, obviously missed the two Spins in G1. Happens. Hope you guys enjoyed the commentary anyway! Thanks to all the new subs who came over from this tournament and thanks to the crew of Jimvitational for having me! :)
Spoiler: YES ! ABR showcased the power of offensive Surf Starmie ! Never been a fan of it until recently when I used Big 5 offensive Surf Starmie to get to #3 on the ladder 2 weeks ago. You can spam your Water move as much as you want without worrying about missing and it represents the defensive T-wave set against both Blissey and Skarmory - or people unfamiliar with Starmie's calcs :p Edit : Also luck generating machine lol
The level of cerebral play on display here from ABR is unmatched, no offense to BIHI, but ABR dogwalked him. Poor guy was so out of his depth. SPOILER: - - - - Game 1 he was mere bad rolls away from losing, ABR identifies he has no capacity for this style of play, immediately brings the team back for the second game because it worked him so hard the first time (but I would say 50/50 he swapped Snorlax for something else), game 2 he completely demolishes him, game 3 is even more of a master class, lulling him into believing he's safe for 85 turns just to boom and blow the game open with offensive Starmie. Game 4, he hits this poor guy with the brain destroyer and just brings standard offense; but wait, there's more. Billy Mays here, it's fucking thunderbolt Tyranitar with a speed tier to smash Swampert. This guy has the most solo trophies for a reason, unironically the undispusted goat of competitive singles. I just found myself going "Wow, wow, so smart" for the entire set. ABR played this set to perfection, huge jump in level of play from the earlier rounds (which I assume he basically just coasted through, having watched them)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the g3 boom on Blissey even mattered. PIHI has no way to make progress and pp stalling Blissey is trivial with ABR's team. The only threat is Suicune setting up but Swampert can phase it if it's not the last mon and Gengar can Dbond if it is. Not to mention the situation that did happen in game where Gengar boomed on Suicune leaving it in range of the Starmie
Not really? Game 1 it was just a better matchup, no switch-in for CB Aero Rock Slide once Claydol was down - pretty safe win. Game 2 difference was weaker matchup, Raikou eliminated early, Zapdos the only thing left not able to handle Suicune alone afterwards. Game 3 was just hax. Crit Surf + Ice Beam freeze on Celebi, who beats Swampert and Blissey due to leech seed, and heals on Starmie after leftovers, baring crit/freeze which happened. Also last move unrevealed, could be Giga Drain. Usually Celebi has one attacking move. I would have liked to see G3 without the hax. Absolutely no guarantee ABR won that one.
@@user-mg4zu7bs6i in g3, can’t ABR just pp stall leech seed? Watching g3 it seemed like PIHI had 0 ways to make progress. If it did have giga then I guess there is the possibility of catching the starmie
@@seifeir6951 Probably a lot of stalling from both sides without the hax. That's why the freeze ruined the game, since either side could potentially win, but not enough info not knowing the full sets
4:30 I feel like ABR team structure was obvious g1 early. The only thing lead dug can catch is tyranitar (and ig Raikou in g2, but i doubt that even crossed his mind). Which suggests weather clear. Meaning Suicune Snorlax was extremely likely. Then you need the rock resist, which because of the first 3 suggests it's also defensive: Claydol or perhaps mono pert. Because abr ttar interferes with dug weather clear, you can't pursuit trap gengar, meaning it would be claydol
@@goldmasonvt As you should, shop around and see what works. I will say doing a blur effect and key framing the opacity from 0 to 100 to 0 to cover the cut is often times a good solution. Also quick wipes.
@@goldmasonvt Sorry, thought I replied to this already. It should just be "vannills". Shoot me a message when you have time. I might be busy during the work week but will try to help if I can!
Spoilers . . . . Tyranitar is not a fossil mon lmao. Some pretty insane games going on here, I love that ABR brought the same team to Game 2. Catching the Raikou was abSURD value.
Why is everybody celebrating the commentator? 6:22 "If the forre does not have rapid spin....." but we wee it used rapid spin TWICE already. What is this guy talking about?
@@2299momo callous is an outstanding commentator. people here love him because of his humour, knowledge, experience, voice, insight on the plays and players, sassiness, etc...but he definitely missed those 2 rapid spins LOL, which, ironically, makes his commentary even funnier and memorable
