At least you got seen, been in hospital for nearly 3 months now after crashing my ZX6. Still being screwed about by doctors due to having broken knees and ankles

You did well mate. Much better than my treatment. Both tops of my legs from knees to groins were completely purple, the old fellas the same😂 and swollen like coconuts. After scans they said it was only muscle damage, so got me up onto crutches to send me home. I was in complete agony and refused as I couldn't walk. After many arguments they took more X rays and sent them off to a specialist at addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge. They were still adamant it was just muscle damage, and by this time had dressed me to go home. A pair of pyjama bottoms that would fit a 5 years old (I'm 6'4) Any way the outcome was I had broken my pelvis and had to have plates and screws fitted. That was back in May, I'm still waiting for a physiotherapy appointment and still can't walk. Rant over!

Oh aren't they just the best! I walked and worked on a broken foot for 18 months, back and forth to the docs, just threw painkillers at me. Commiserations on the NHS experience at the start. Came off my mountain bike a month ago, A&E rejected me with my dislocated and fractured elbow, urgent care only an hour wait at 9pm on a Monday, then things just progressed well. Week later surgeon consult, week after (now 2 weeks ago) surgery to install some permanent titanium. No motorcycling for 6 months tho, so main recommendation is don't go fracturing elbows! Daft thing is if I was on the motorbike I'd probably have just had bruises due to good body armour, which you don't tend to wear riding bicycles!

Ouch! Best of luck with it! I have to say when I see people on push bikes hitting 30mph in nothing but a helmet it makes me think, how bad is it going to be when you come off. Then there is just landing in an unlucky way.

@spicy110 yeah mine was slow maneuvere round a sharp bend, back wheel hit a patch of mud I thought I avoided and smashed hard on concrete. *snap, snap* 2years later and two ops later and still not quite right in my right arm but I'm no longer in pain and can still ride.

worst accident i've had was on a mtb. my pedal snapped and i went over the handle-bars. face-planted and smashed my knee. balloon bruised face and couldn't walk for a few weeks. lucky no breaks.

I started cutting my own hair during the Rona and I have continued to do so. Not only is it saving cash its much more convenient and I tend to have neater hair since I can do it every few weeks. Thanks pandemic 👍 Hopefully your back on your feet/bike soon enough.

Spicy that’s not bruising, almost certainly it’s blood from a torn muscle that collects under the skin. Had the same frightening look in my leg when I torn my quad. It does go away by itself, the bigger issue is the tear and getting treatment to help it repair

I didnt say it was brusing other than the brusing, I said it was a hemotoma (a pocket of blood) yes it maybe cursed by a torn mussle I will find out more soon when I go to get a check up on it.

@@spicy110 sorry, you’re right you did say that, my bad. You need to find where the tear is and get some physio/massage on the muscle to help it knit back together. Stay safe mate and look after yourself.

I have been cutting my own hair since covid. When our local barber re-opened he went full on woke and employed people I would not like to mix with. No one seems to have noticed the difference. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

An 80 year old woman pulled out in front of me 2 weeks ago and I hit her but was able to lock up the wheels before I hit her and slow down a bit. I hurt my leg and cracked a rib but I'm getting better. Heal up and be patient.

Oh yes, the strange colors your skin turns as the bruising heals makes you wonder if you’re starting to “rot” 😳!?! And as each year is added to your age, more healing time is required 😕. The scariest thing I did during Covid was to hand my wife a sharp pair of scissors ✂️ and ask her to cut my hair 😱! (She’s been doing it ever since😉.)

When you're my age a number 1 everywhere except the receding front and a number 3 there. A number 1 for the moustache and eyebrows and then tidy up the moustache with just the plain trimmer. Been doing the same for almost 15 years and only been to the barber [£20] maybe 3 times in that period for special occasions (square/tidy up the back etc] I don't need to save money....I'm not rich but.....I don't like paying for stuff that I can sort out myself or has a designer identity [except my Wrangler jeans but I only buy them when discounted]

I don't want to jinx it, but that it is looking very similar to what I did but mine was the calf. It was almost painless after about 4 weeks. I can share pictures if you'd like. When i was googling I couldn't really find anything similar and all the google images looked better off than I did! Also the same with haircuts since covid. Not so much the money but the faff of it all. 10 minutes with the clippers, and i'm sorted. And since I don't have to avoid the faff, my hair doesn't get nearly as bad as it used to, it also doesn't look as good as it did but it's certainly acceptable.

Isn't a Hematoma just the clinical name for a bruise? Or is it a worse kind of bruise? Best I can do for you is allow ads. Brave browser just seems to work, but sucks in other places. I'm currently operating at 50% as I've got tennis elbow. It's great not being able to do anything with your left arm... Can't even lift a cup of tea it's stupid.

A bruise is called a contusion; a hematoma is a pocket of blood that forms between layers of tissue. In my case think of a small can of red bull sized thing inside your leg made of blood.
